    Pork Lumpia. Delicious.
    Jim B.

I gotta tell ya. Sometimes you just walk into a place and you instantly know it is your place. That is this place. I was instantly greeted by the husband-and-wife owners Jim and Lisa who were very engaging. The initial appearance is sports bar, but it is so much more than that as they pride themselves in being an all-inclusive establishment where there is something for everybody. While there are so many more types of food than what I ordered, I thought it was very unique that a generally American fare bar/restaurant would have Filipino Lumpia. To make a long story short I am well versed in this type of appetizer. Lisa knew the secret recipe as she was well versed as well. They were fantastic. I will 100% go back here and try the burgers and wings that they feature. Terrific experience.

    Fish and Chips

Went here after a flight from Las Vegas and it's a cool little spot with some sports flags hanging all over the walls. The Bartender basically ran the joint but it was after 9 pm so they probably didn't need any servers. I got the Fish and Chips and the presentation was great, but I just wasn't the biggest fan of the flavor. It wasn't bad it just wasn't great, just slightly above average. Overall 3 Stars.

The food was good, not mind blowing, but definitely all tasty. The drinks were good but perhaps too sweet. The service was good and they had lots of games on the TVs. You can even bring your dog! Very chill ambiance and lots of folks were just hanging out and cheering for their team.

    Happy hour chicken wings

Was craving a burger/sandwich and found this spot after playing an hour of racquetball. Was not expecting much but the food was soooo good!!! The happy hour wings were literally fire! Cooked to perfection on the inside and crispy outside. The French dip was also very solid! 9/10! Would highly recommend esp since they have a big happy hour menu!!

    Chicken Fried Steak

Came for breakfast and the chicken fried steak. Was excited when it was on the menu and tried it a few weeks ago. Came back today and was sadly disappointed. Chicken fried steak was $20 on the menu and looked like this, and yes, it does taste like something you microwaved or got frozen. Being from the Deep South, we take our Chicken fried steak seriously and have made it a point to try known restaurants who offer it. This was not worth $20 not including tip and tax. Outdoor seating is near the waste and recycling with many standing or taking smoke breaks. The 25ft smoke ordnance for WA doesn't seem to be in effect here. Eastlake doesn't have a lot of options for breakfast and it wouldn't be worth a trek for this. Grand central is a few blocks away and Portage Bay is down the way with a nice, shaded outdoor seating area. Pros: Customer service is always lovely Cons: overpriced food for subpar quality with smoking being a part of the ambience

Good vibes for watching the game, we got the breakfast burrito and Lisa's hot mess burger. The burrito was great and generously filled. The owners are really nice! Would come back to support.

    Seattle Restaurant Week menu (4/22/21)

This is a review for Otter Bar and Burger four months ago during the Seattle Restaurant Month dining campaign (4/22/21, posted 8/22/21). Remains as 3 stars, but an added star for surviving the pandemic. The Homie and I decided their multi-part menu entrees piqued interest. Finding street parking and getting seated was easy enough, but placing our order took quite awhile. But once completed, our shakes, burgers, fries, salad, soup, and other components came from the kitchen shortly thereafter and made for a generous spread, with some boxed up. Great spot with varied menu, bar, indoor/outdoor seating. I just don't frequent the Eastlake neighborhood often enough to make it part of a favorite rotation.

Supposedly an entree of Mac n cheese but realistically it's a side of Mac n cheese. Don't waste your money.
    Liz T.

I ordered from this place quite often because it's convenient (I live in the area) and the portions were worth the price. This time around, I ordered my usual Togo - the Mac and cheese and the wings. The Mac and cheese (mind you it's $14) came in a little side container and the container was only 3/4 full if that. I have previously ordered and received 2 containers in the past, but supposedly this is normal for their entree which is outrageous for $14. It's literally a side of Mac n cheese. Normally the wings are really great here and I would recommend. This time I received wings with feathers in them, which ultimately ruined my appetite. How do you not catch this at any point before serving to your customers? Truly disappointing, can no longer recommend this place. Update: Yes we may have spoke and you may have offered a refund to rectify the issue, however that doesn't change my experience which was still negative. And although this may be my first time ordering from your restaurant off of the Uber app itself, it's not my first time ordering from your restaurant. I literally live in the neighborhood and frequent every restaurant, bakery and coffee shop within a 1 mile radius. I don't appreciate the condescension nor the insinuation that I've never ordered from you guys before this when I have. It's just plain rude. I went ahead and uploaded the other photo which still shows exactly what I said, the container was 3/4 full. Which you yourself said you would have liked it to be a little fuller, yet you also said you checked the order before it went out. And I also want to point out it was more than just a single feather, it was at least 4-6, which had been tossed with the other wings and quite frankly unsanitary and disgusting. You can very clearly see that in the photo, so for you to downplay it doesn't make this any better. Not to mention the fact that it was sitting on top of all the other wings - so again, how do you not notice that even when boxing the order? I don't know about you, but I prefer to have my wings without feathers at all.

seattle trip day one and looking for food after long day of traveling. otter bar was an excellent choice for our first night, and truly a spot to go if you want good food. the server was incredible and made sure to help us in any way we needed. the place itself is super lively and colorful. very friendly to lgbtqia+. the food itself was delicious across the board. the otter tots are massive and fairly priced for the amount of food you get. my friends got the grilled chicken wrap and lamb burger to which they both enjoyed throughly. prices were teetering on pricey, but that's coming from someone who lives in nebraska. overall would recommend

This establishment was recommended to me by a local and I absolutely wanted to try it. Upon entering, the vibe was very chill which I loved. It was not crowded yet and I got to choose where I sat. So far so good! I decided to try the hibiscus margarita which was just beautifully presented and equally delicious! Very tasty and refreshing! So much so that I had two! Shhhh! Since I was having margaritas to drink, I opted to go the Mexican route and get the grilled chicken quesadilla. Yum! Perfection! I got to meet the owners Jim and Lisa and they were really fun to talk to! I love it when business owners are hands on and it's great to support local small businesses! They run a great place. Lots of drink options and food options. I get the feeling everything here is quite tasty! If in Seattle, drop by and tell them Cheryl sent you! You will be glad you did!

    Lisas hot mess
    Chimi Y.

Came here on a Saturday night around 5:30 pm and found that all tables were empty but the bar tops were full! Was looking for a sit down burger spot and this one came up. We got the Lisa's hot mess and the build your own burger - These burgers were delicious perfectly cooked and juicy! I loved the fries that came with the burgers they were large and fresh and I didn't find any small un-edible crispy bits. I would not have thought that peanut butter, bbq sauce, egg and bacon would go well together but they shockingly do! The service was fast and friendly and we were in and out within the hour :) I have been searching for a solid burger for a while and we cant wait to come back.

Lots of great seating options both inside and out. The views of downtown Seattle and Bellevue were EPIC. The staff were very friendly as well! I have to say, for the price the food and drinks weren't at the level I expected. We ordered nachos, crab Rangoon dip, and pretzel bites. The nachos were probably our favorite, but they weren't anything special for $22. The Rangoon dip was mostly cream cheese and barely had any flavor. I think they were depending on the nori chips to bridge the gap, but those didn't taste the greatest. Finally the pretzel bites were okay, but nothing I couldn't get at another gastropub for a much lower price. The drinks were fine, but not that strong. I ordered the Glacier Peak which was beautiful and refreshing. We'll be back for the views and maybe a couple of cocktails, but I'd say if you're bar hopping, spend money on food somewhere else in the area.

The staff seemed distracted, but they at least did not appear to be cranky or hostile. The karaoke selection was lacking, and as a queer man I was uncomfortable seeing that all David Bowie songs were pointedly crossed out in the books. Reviews had suggested that the Monkey Pub, despite being located in the U District, had a clientele of more than just college students; this may be true on non-karaoke nights, but when I went, it had the same college-kid crowd as anywhere else in the neighborhood. Drink selection was average. Indeed, the bar itself was largely average. I found no evidence of anything particularly dramatically terrible on my visit to the Monkey Pub, but nothing to get excited about either. Only worth it for karaoke if you're desperate. Probably an okay place to get a drink, but I didn't really detect much of the character and "local flavor" that usually makes a good dive bar worth the trip.

The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. Originally opened in 1934, the Blue Moon carries the kind of atmosphere you cannot recreate -- walls covered in decades of music, art, stickers, photographs, and stories. A dimly lit room packed with musicians, writers, artists, and people who genuinely appreciate creativity in its raw form. Throughout the night, the stage moved between live music, poetry, and performances from local artists while the crowd filled the tavern from the bar to the stage floor. Places like this remind me why independent art still matters. As an author traveling all over the United States -- and as someone who lived in the Seattle area for 2 1/2 years -- standing on that stage reading poetry from Purple Rose in a venue with this much history behind it was really something special. What I loved most was how welcoming the environment was. This is a very LGBTQ-friendly, art-friendly space where people genuinely support one another. If you are brand new to open mics or nervous about sharing your work for the first time, this is the kind of place where you will absolutely be shown kindness and encouragement. There were so many talented musicians, poets, and performers there, and you could really feel the appreciation for creativity throughout the room. The setup of the tavern itself is awesome. The stage and seating area wrap around the bar in almost a U-shape, so you can really choose your own vibe for the night. If you want to stay close to the performances and music, there is a dance floor and table area near the stage. If you want something more relaxed, you can hang back near the bar, have a drink, and still enjoy the atmosphere without being directly in the middle of everything. They also have a full bar, arcade games, board games, books to read, and even a small library on the shelves throughout the tavern. Somewhere inside, you may even find a signed copy of Purple Rose that I left hidden and dedicated to the historic Blue Moon itself. Beautiful evening with wonderful people. I, my wife, and her friend stopped by for New Year's Drinks around 6, and about 6:30 or so, made the mistake of asking Tim Duvall, the clearly drunken before 7:00 PM owner of the establishment, whether outside food can be brought into the bar. This led to his regaling us with an extended and utterly unsolicited history of the bar. He then invited himself to sit with us, halfway into the seat before slurring a "Can I sit down?" to insert himself into our booth. We then moved to another unsolicited conversation, this time about politics. Now, to be clear - I have no doubt that I and a sober Tim Duvall probably agree on most of our politics. This did not stop him from berating me as I agreed with his point, loudly escalating and yelling as I tried to agree with him (again... to be clear, I DIDN'T disagree his political view) until he stood and began yelling that I was kicked out. As I stood to talk on him, he became VERY comfortable with putting his hands on me, grabbing my sweatshirt to move me. I was NOT about to challenge that as a Black man new to Seattle that doesn't know how the police would handle things. I need to be very specific about how quickly this man felt comfortable touching me, grabbing my sweater to "drag" me. This is the step that is WAY over the line. I would genuinely like to recommend this place, as I'm looking for bars that offer sugar cane soda. Drunken ownership- in the early evening in New Year's - that feels comfortable being handsy with Black folk is far too much. AVOID at all costs.

They were both crispy, delicious, and totally hit the spot for a warm Seattle day! The staff was super friendly. More than happy to answer questions so we could pick beers we'd enjoy. The space is open and clean. Tons of seating options, a projector, games, and lots of amazing snacks. I was SO happy to see they had Gochiso snack mixes!! These are my favorite and so hard to find. It's awesome that they are carrying a local snack brand. Can't wait to come back and bring my dog next time!

Outside food is welcome, the ballgame's on the tube, and you can play shuffleboard and other stuff to wile away the hours. Regular trivia nights and other events. Wines, ciders, seltzers, and candy also available. In long When he first started selling beers, he made a lot of saisons. For some of us, those dry, funky Belgians are where your palate finds home after trying every beer style. Only some of us, though. They can be hard to sell after a while, especially these days. So now the lineup here runs to lots of gorgeous, refreshing lagers, some explosively-flavorful hoppy stuff, and the occasional big chewy high-abv ale. For a saison whore like me, this is kinda like learning Michelangelo doesn't paint anymore, he just gets down with sculpture now. Not a tragedy by any means, but we still feel the absence. But why are saisons not the huge seller that IPAs are? Well, in part, 'cause old heads like me cut out beer. I did, anyway. I came out of retirement yesterday afternoon to try Nick's beers 'cause they had a Washington Cheese release event at the brewery yesterday. (Can't wait to try those, by the way). I checked out a landbier, german pils, west coast pils, and a hazy IPA. All wonderful, refreshing, and without flaw. We had a couple other beers at the table, along with a seltzer and wine. There's nothing here I wouldn't have again. The space is a good size--seating here, bar back there, brewhouse off to one side, more seating up the ramp in back. They had the Olympics on the flat screens and projector. There are board games and cards near the bar, and shuffleboard upstairs. This was another brewery before, and that brewery put in the shuffleboard table and at least some of the brew equipment. You can still see the name of the old brewery here and there. L&L is an even better source of beer IMO. Somewhat infamously, this space was also a funky dive bar and a, uh, gentleman's club in decades gone by. No trace of either of them remain. The folks who run this place are friendly and fun, and there aren't too many places making beer this good. They even have a great knack for designing cool labels (all done in house!). Highly recommended.

I wanted to order Bun cha ca la vong but they ran out, so I got bun cha Ha Noi instead. I liked how the meat was grilled on charcoal cuz I could see the slightly dark crust on the outside, that's what made it authentic! I didn't really like the pork ball that inside the nuoc cham tho! It had some strange taste to it that I was not familiar with, and I wish the texture was a bit more firm! Overall, it was a good dinner and the service was fast! My drink was good too and the interiors was nice! I saw there is a "Quay Banh Cuon", I got hyped for a second thinking it was a real banh cuon bar but it was just for decoration lol! We will definitely come back!

It's a big, roomy place so I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. But I usually try to avoid the lunch rush and either go right when they open at 11am or later at 1:30pm. I like how airy it is inside, with lots of tables, and they have both indoor and outdoor dining. The food is delicious. My favorite is the vermicelli noodles dish with WA coast rockfish (Bun Cha Ca La Vong) that comes with a crispy imperial roll, fresh dill, mint, basil, lettuce, cucumbers, bean sprouts, and pickled vegetables. But you can't go wrong with most of their dishes. My hubs had the Chicken Breast Supreme last time and it was tasty. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. This place runs like a well-oiled machine. Just writing about it makes me want to go back!

Nice that they have regular test, low test and no test drinks depending on how much alcohol you want. Food was very tasty, we had the lobster pasta and the fajitas. The tortillas were very flimsy so messy but still nice flavor and good amount of food.. started with the hummus which is what I was told to try there and yes a creative hummus plate... which brings me to the only hiccup... The chef gets creative at times and apparently edamame is in season so randomly added to the hummus even though not on the menu. Found out half way through then had to verify what beans they were and couldn't eat rest of dish. Server was awesome about it and wasn't a problem but if you have any allergies be aware the menu MAY not be exact so make sure you ask if there are any "enhancements" if you have any known issues. Overall highly recommend.

But a couple other things just spoiled it.... Service was slow, the server mostly absent, and the starters and the main dishes were served all at once. I wonder what the server was thinking a "starter" was supposed to be.... This was during an evening in February and the place was way overheated , I estimated something close to 80F where we were sitting. Cocktails were fine and I will come back to just sit at bar for that, but the dinner experience was just not for me at Joey's.
