We have gone in the past and it was okay. Typical mass produced Americanized "Mexican" food. The table side guacamole is awesome and a big draw for our family. The drinks are also good and they have a kids menu that has real food. However, this last time I ordered a steak quesadilla. The steak had gone rancid and the tomatoes had mold. The server just took the plate and said "okay." They never returned to ask if I wanted to order anything else. We had to wait 15 minutes to get someone to come over to the table, we explained what happened and they asked where the meal was. We said it had already been taken and they said they would get the server. At this point I told my husband to just eat and I would get something somewhere else. Another five minutes later the server came over with the bill that still had the rancid quesadilla on it. When we pointed out the error, the server said they had to get the manger. We waited another ten minutes (with at this point tired little kids) to talk to the manager who still didn't apologize and played twenty questions, including why the plate was no longer on the table. They manager finally took off the quesadilla but with hesitation since the food was now gone. We may try one more time as this was only one bad experience and we have gone many times before and been happy with the service. read more

Stopped in by chance looking for something to fill our bellies to head home. Super impressed. The service was great, very friendly and attentive. The food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. I went to this restaurant in Ormond Beach,FL-the worst ever. I got 2 shredded beef tacos to go.When I got home OMG!!! It was a mess in the container.Whoever made this order just threw the food n the container.No meat in one of the tacos and no sour cream.WTF!!! We are from out of town, and came here for a weekend event, and chose Agave because it was in walking distance of our hotel. What a blessing that was! It has a great feel to it with cool Mexican decor. My wife ordered a steak fajita chimi, my daughter got a tamale, and I ordered roasted pork with maduros...sooo good!! The sadness came when I asked if I could get one taco lengua...the waiter wanted to do it, but said they couldn't because of how they were prepared. I said no problem, I had just never had one, and wanted to try it. Then, when the food came, they brought me a taco lengua! Awesome!! Have eaten on many occasions. The portions are generous and the food is top quality. The only draw back is this place is tight inside and it gets busy quick. There is some outdoor seating and some bar seating. The only thing that is holding back the fifth star for me is that the service sometimes gets slow, especially of you are not drinking beer/wine/margarita's. Tried this best of mexican restaurant after hitting the cheap movie on Tuesday night ($6 all movies all day @ Regal cinemas). Place was mobbed and with good reason. Wait time was minimal and ended up sharing a large booth with a couple we met in line. They had been here before but failed to warn us of the huge portions. Ordered a burrito and enchiladas. Needless to say we had doggie bags for both. It was also taco Tuesday which we need to try next time along with the 2 for 1 drinks. Place is a major find. read more

Well let me start off by saying I wanted to give 5 stars to offset the low rating one other reviewer gave, but I do have a technical issue that prevents me giving my personal 5 star review. The biggest issue: the menu lacks description. It wouldn't be as big a deal if every server could help navigate the menu but as of our last two visits, only one could. Even if every server was as helpful as our first, there are a lot of items that have no description and I would like to know just what is in a "pork street taco" However, our first visit we had the enchiladas Durango the molcajete and the chicken Mexican style. All recommended by our server and all were amazing. 5 star rating from that experience. It was so good we went back the next day for lunch. While still really good, my experience was a little different. The server wasn't very helpful. (very nice however) The lunch specials we got were good, but not exactly what we expected as we didn't know what exactly the dish was, and we weren't given much info about them. I think that first and foremost the menu should have descriptions. The server shouldn't be expected to go over the whole menu with you. We decided to come here based on Yelp recommendations and my husband's love of Mexican food. We were seated immediately in the middle of a room at a table, which made me feel a little bit like I was in a fishbowl, plus we had a SCREAMING child right next to us. I noticed other tables emptying out and had noticed others outside, so I got up before we ever ordered and asked the hostess if it would be possible for us to move. She said she would look and see what was available. I never heard from her again. I decided to let that go. We ordered queso dip and entrees when our server finally came back to us, which was quite a while. It took a long time for our queso dip to arrive. When it did, it was not even warm. It was barely even in a liquid state. I tried to find our server, but had to flag down another one to ask if he could find her for us. He said he would. He later came back and asked me, "What is that you asked me to do for you?" I explained the situation and he took the queso dip. I also mentioned that my husband never received the soda he ordered. It was taking so long to even receive any of that back that I went back to the hostess stand and asked for the manager. I spoke to him about the issues we were having and he said that his bartender had called out and he was filling in for him (not sure what that had to do with our situation, though). He apologized and said we did not have to worry about paying for the meal. I told him that I was more than happy to pay for our food, I just would like it to arrive and for my husband to get his soda. The food arrived not long after our appetizer queso dip came back to us, hot this time. My fajitas were not really hot at all and didn't even sizzle like they normally would at a restaurant, but by this point, I could have cared less. My husband said his quesa-tacos with chicken were very good and he enjoyed them. My fajitas were fine but not especially great. When we asked for the check, our server told us that the manager had comped our meal. Our server would also not accept a tip from us, even though I tried to give it to her myself. We were looking for a quick lunch during a drive through FL. Chose this place based on proximity to the interstate and good reviews. When we walked in, it looked like every chain Mexican restaurant where we live. Prices seemed a little high. We ordered off the lunch menu, which is more expensive on weekends. Hubs and I both got the Agave Burrito and our kiddo wanted steak & chicken fajitas. The fajitas were the best she's ever had, she said - the steak was better quality than you usually get in fajitas and they put the veggies on the bottom of the skillet so the meats didn't end up burned. And they were perfectly seasoned! The Agave Burrito was amazing. It was so big I think we could have split one. We both got shredded beef (you get your choice of meats); there's also cheese, sour cream, rice, and beans inside and red sauce and queso on top. It was among the best burritos I've ever had. Prices were a little higher than I would expect compared to other Mexican resturants in the area. The salsa was pretty fresh and good, sweet and not spicy. They salsa had ranch dip for the nachos. Does have fresh cilantro in it. I verified the house margarita was on happy hour, ordered one, then waiter disappeared after our food came and I never had the chance to get my second rita before my check arrived. They added a $9 dish to our check that we never ordered or had. My husband's seafood burrito was inedible: too salty and the seafood had a foul flavor. We dined outside and the service was prompt at first (until the time came for my happy hour margarita). My chili poblano was passable, as was the kids' mac n cheese. Figured I'd try the new Mexican restaurant during my lunch break and I'm glad I did. Atmosphere was colorful and relaxing. Host and servers were very helpful and super friendly. I ordered the Chipotle Burrito with chicken (lunch special) and loved it. The chicken inside was delicious. They forgot to put peppers inside the burrito, but i was forgiving since they just had their official grand opening July 10th, and it was tasty non-the-less. Over all, very good. However, we did have one problem. On their website they advertised $2.99 maragritas for happy hour. When we asked about them, our waitress said she knew nothing about it and asked the manager. The manager relayed the message through our waitress that it was a mistake and they would fix the website. The manager never came over to explain or appologize for the mistake, did not make good on the website special or offer a discount. which pissed us off a little but we were already there and hungry so we stayed. They then sold us 2 for 1 margaritas for $9 a pop. I can't flag the whole experience because the manager doesn't know how to manage, but he cost them a star. On to the good stuff: Get the guacamole, you will not be disappointed. Very good, and it is made tableside. You can't get any fresher than that. I had the Shrimp A La Diabla. Ordered them hot and they were. I'm a like spicyr, so the heat was not overpowering for me but I noticed other reviewers couldn't take the heat. If you think regular buffalo wings are too spicy, get the mild version of this. The shrimp were super fresh as were the veggies and both were perfectly cooked. My buddy had the NY Steak. Cooked to order and tender. We both had flan for dessert which was also very good. Service was attentive but not intrusive. In the area at my mom's beach house. Wanted some Mexican, saw good ratings for Agave, so gave it a shot. Excellent food, gigantic portions. Got the 3 item DIY combo, enchiladas and tostadas. Had I known the size, I would've gotten 2. Slightly noisy due to being packed to capacity, but not unbearable. Margaritas are very strong, but good. Overall, excellent meal! read more
