I had a very bad experience. The food made me sick, the service was terrible, and the food was awful! I asked for some quesadillas and all I got was a brick with cheese. No meat, tomato, nothing. And when we ordered our food it got here quite fast. Good job. But after an hour when we finished our food we just sat there. The waitor was serving everyone but us. Came here hoping for better that taco bell,no such luck. To start the whole thing the waitress spoke very very broken english. (def. keeping it authentic mexican) when my wife asked he for just rice no beans, she looked at her like she punched her mother. Then i ordered.....i asked specifically for red sauce on my chile rellenos she even asked me you "ju want red sauce?" i confirmed red sauce. I also asked for no tomatoes or onions anywhere on the plate. So the food came out pretty fast of course it did. Because it was wrong. My plate came out covered in some sort of white sauce with mushrooms in it, I am not sure what the hell that garbage was. so i sat there for what was probably 10 minutes until the "waitress" came back to check on us. I explained that this is obviously not red sauce and i did not ask for white sauce. She than began to explain to me what they call this "sauce" i told her i would like red sauce, guess what i got the "you punched my mother look" Wonderful she took it back to fix it. (im glad i did not eat much of the saliva i know they spit into it) Soooo the meal came back this is where it gets good. You might remember i asked for no tomatoes on my previous failed order. Well i got tomatoes alright. i ordered a chalupa which was supposed to be a deep fried flour tortilla taco with meat lettuce and tomatoes and cheese, BUT I DID NOT WANT TOMATOES. well the tortilla was basically deep fried into a right angle and litterally burnt Im not sure how i was supposed to eat that if it was flavofull at all. The meat was a bland No flavor boiled meat byproduct. and they put the cheese over the tomatoes so when i tries to take them off it took ALL of the cheese. strike 2. I also ordered 2 chili rellenos they are described as a CRISPY DEEP FRIED CHILI WITH CHEESE. (yes i like fried foods) So lets go back to the crispy part. these 2 pieces of i #@!* were so soggy when i cut them open a milky substance leaked out and i took a bite i could actually tast the oil that had penetrated the whole thing. Strike 3 So all of you that are judging me for eating fried foods can go to hell! I paid 24 dollars for 2 meals and i ate 3 bites of food. Well agave you suck i will go somewhere else i will never ever go there again, Taco bell is better than this garbage. I wish i could give it less than 1 star. read more

Came on the recommendation of friends and were overwhelmingly pleased. The salsa (with chips) that came when we were seated was terrific. We shared the spinach quesadilla appetizer - wonderful flavors! My wife's combo platter was fresh, filling, flavorful, and huge! The carne asada in my Burrito Mexicano was truly memorable. Armed with a coupon from money pages my husband and I stopped in on Thursday for lunch. So glad that we did. My husband had the chipotle burrito which was the special. It was delicious and a great deal for 6.50. It was all he could do to finish it. I had the shrimp and octopus cocktail. Even at 11.99 I felt it was a good deal. Very tasty and generous portion to which I added too much salsa verde to give it a kick. Unlimited chips, a Dos Equis and ice tea rounded out our order. At 29.00 including tip it was pricey for a lunch but very good. Just noticed we were overcharged for the chipotle burrito by .49. We tried this place recently when our favorite, go-to Mexican place was closed. We should not have waited so long. Food was very good. The prices were a bit higher than the other place, and the chips weren't as good. Service, however, was great. We will definitely be back. read more

The food was pretty good here and the prices are on target for what you get. Normally, a Mexican restaurant will offer additional chips and salsa when you've finished the basket. This was not the case here. Our waiter and his support staff dropped by our table at least five times after our family of four had finished the first basket and not one of them ever even hinted at bringing another order to us. On the bright side, the entrée portions were large enough and good enough that we didn't need the chips to fill up. Other than the fact that the hostess was very bitchy, miserable and confrontational, it was a positive experience. I'd definitely return. read more

Thought my family and I would give this place a second chance...boy was I dumb. Once again, we waited to be served but I will say we only had to wait ten minutes this time as compared to 20 mins our first time. The waiter was rude due to interrupting me while asking him questions about the menu. He also didn't bring our waters for what felt like two weeks. He passed our table many times without checking on us and refilling our glasses. I asked for a beer to which was never brought to me. They dumped sour cream and guac on the fajita lettuce and I asked for a side of lettuce due to my wife not liking either one (we shared a plate) and they brought us a side of lettuce but ended up charging $1. I asked for more tortillas due to being so small and was also charged for those as well. The service was awful and rude. I will def not go back nor recommend this place. But I will say the one glass of water was nice and cold and the refried beans were delicious. read more

Very unimpressed and will not be returning! All of the staff members were rude. Waitress brought drinks and food and we never saw her again. We ended up having to get up and ask the hostess if we could pay up front because we never got our check and haven't seen the waitress since she brought our food. While we were paying at the hostess register, our waitress came up and said something to the hostess. She never spoke or acknowledged us. Never-mind our empty drinks and chips and salsa request. While we were paying, a man walks in and asks could he pay for his catering order he had scheduled to be picked up later in the day and the two girls up front did not know anything about it and all they said to the man was "We don't know because we didn't work yesterday." The man was left wondering if anyone knew about it because he was having a party for 40 people later and needed to know. Horrible customer service! Food was just average. Disappointing. read more

I must say we were very disappointed at the fact the day after the hurricane when most people were out of power agave was charging the very loyal people that have supported them on a regular basis the past few years full price menu on everything instead of the usual tuesday fare of 99 cent tacos, flautas, and quesadillas I think it was shameful on their part to take advantage of the people at a time like that. Horrible food and service. I ordered a10 oz steak and got a 6oz steak covered in tomato sauce. I sent it back and ordered the tacos AL carbon and that was even worse. I've been coming to Agave for years and it's always been great...but yesterday I went for happy hour with my sister before our movie and we were NOT impressed, especially with the service. They have always let us split a happy hour drink, as we have been going to this place almost weekly for years, but was told by our rude, unfriendly server "no". He never smiled the whole time we were there. We had to ask twice for our check and almost late for our movie. Oh well, I guess it's time to find a new place for happy hour! read more

We (my wife, two teenage daughters and myself) just went on a Tuesday at almost 6pm. It looked like there was a fair wait, but we were seated pretty quickly. Excellent food, attentive servers and great atmosphere. We've been at least a dozen times now and not once were we disappointed. My fav? The seafood quesadilla (cant remember the exact name) but it has crab and shrimp in it and it is incredible. They make fresh guacamole that's delish every time. AMAZING! Went there for lunch right after it opened. I was very impressed with the staff. They all worked together to provide me with excellent service. If my drink was empty and my waiter couldn't get it another waiter did. I ordered from the lunch menu and all I have to say is DELICIOUS! I wanted takeout and the service was good. Unfortunately the food was awful. I ended up throwing it in the trash. The tortilla soup had one flavor- salt. I took two sips out of the styrofoam cup it was served in and couldn't eat more. When I dumped it out I did see a fair amount of nicely shredded chicken and some fresh avacado chunks, but it was SOOO salty I could not eat it. The tacos with beef were dry and tasteless, even with some fresh chopped cilantro. How can fresh cilantro have no flavor? The salsa was the texture of a purée and had two dimensions- hot and salt, again no real flavor. I have really never thrown out an entire take- out order before. I am a foodie, cook for others and am knowledgable about food. This was bad. There is a really good place in the Trails. read more

Went there with my family for Father's Day dinner. Place was empty, maybe three tables occupied at dinner time. I should have taken the hint and left. There were chairs shoved from other tables next to us. Food was mediocre, enchiladas has cheese still frozen inside. We had to find the waitress gossiping with others by the kitchen to get her to come and look at a mistake on one of our orders. There was a scorn, and she did take it back and came back and told us there was nothing wrong with it. It came back a later with the same unappetizing looking food. We left most of it on the plates, payed and left. Last time we will ever go back. read more

After begging my parents to choose a different place to eat after a past experience at Agave, my mom decided she wanted to eat here. Long story short we had terrible service once again. The Server took forever to come back and take our order. Asked for a Corona. Never got it. My mom and dad got fajitas and they piled the sour cream on the lettuce, my mom doesn't like sour cream so my dad asked for a side of lettuce which they charged us $1.29-1.49 for. CHARGED US FOR LETTUCE! My sister and I also got steak fajitas and it consisted of mostly green pepper. Barley any onion or steak. We waited and waited for our server to come back so we could ask for more tortillas. We had to get out of our booth to stop a different server and ask for more tortillas through them. 15-20 minutes later we finally get our tortillas which we didn't use because our food was cold at that point. They charge for extra tortillas also. They Nickel and dime you for just about everything besides water. So don't ask for lemon in your water unless you want an up charge. Our bill took about 10 minutes to get to our table after asking for it and was shockingly returned to us in a timely manner. Refuse to go back. Been to this place twice and both experiences were similar but the most recent was much worse. read more
