I visited Rancho Grande for dinner when I was visiting the area and liked it so much I came back a few nights later. The first night I ordered steak fajitas that were fantastic. I went home with plenty of leftovers. On my second visit I got the appetizer sampler so I could try out several things from the menu. It was great, but ALOT of food- this is definitely for sharing! I loved the nachos and the guacamole. I noticed a lot of the diners were getting the margarita pitcher drink special. There were great nightly drink specials and happy hour specials. This is definitely a great place for friends to meet after work and for date night. Shout out to Miguel- he was a fantastic server! I hope to come back soon! read more

This was a nice little Mexican restaurant tucked back in a shopping plaza. The place was very big and very clean! The chips and salsa were very good. I ordered the taco salad. We were not pleased with our meal at this restaurant which is actually on RIBAUT ROAD. The only thing good that we had was the guacamole, which was excellent because it was made with chunks of avocado, not just mashed up avocado. Other than that, I would not go here again. We had steak tacos, and the steak was practically charred. The refried beans were nothing to write home about nor was the yellow rice. Both were portions that were so small it was ridiculous and we had to pay $4 extra for it even though the menu said it was included. The waiter said it was a mistake on the menu. I felt like telling him that was his problem, not mine, but we went ahead and paid the extra money. I had a Mojito that tasted like pure syrup, the worst Mojito I have ever had. And to top it off, we didn't see our waiter for at least 15 to 20 minutes and had to ask three people to get our check. I finally had to get up and go to the kitchen to find somebody to send the guy over with our check. Needless to say I would not recommend this place. The place was not that busy so I don't know why the service was so poor. It was a weekday and rather early. I very rarely leave a poor review, but this visit was so poor it required that I do. Talk about social distancing, we had one wing of the restaurant all to ourselves. I am a big fan of flautas and/or taquitos and Rancho Grande makes their version in house. (Other places like Fiesta Fresh in Bluffton seem to use frozen flautas with flour tortillas, which I still enjoy), but I have to give a shout out to Rancho Grande's beef and chicken offerings, wrapped in an authentic corn tortilla and fried until crisp. This time you could really taste the nicely seasoned protein fillings. Add their cantina style salsa, guacamole and sour cream, and I had a close to perfect dish that satisfied all my tastebuds. read more

A strip-mall mexican restaurant that was quite good. We ate here for lunch and the prices were reasonable and the portions were large. The wait staff were helpful and quick. Chips and Salsa were quite good - the chips were crispy and fresh and the salsa was a mild/medium and flavorful. We all ordered drinks and entrees and they arrived quickly and correctly. We would add this to our list of restaurants to come back to when in the area. read more

My family and I had a bad experience at Rancho Grande. The restaurant's sign says it closes at 10:30p. My mom walked in at 8:15 to get us a table. She was told that they are closed for the day. Then my dad walked in and asked to be served again and the servers ended up seating us reluctantly after the owner (who knows my dad) prompted them. Then the servers very rudely told us that we only have 20 minutes to eat. I thought this was ridiculous and unreasonable since we were there well before closing time. The food was great, but our server treated us pretty terribly. He wasn't openly hostile, but was reluctant and passive aggressive and he did the bare minimum in serving us. read more

I love this place. I used to eat here at least once a week when I lived on Lady's Island. I always get the same meal and love it every time. Chicken burrito lunch special. It's simple, tasty, and fills you up. The melted cheese has a little kick to it, which I enjoy. And they have $2.50 margarita specials if you go during happy hour. Very mediocre all around. This pace was highly recommended to us, I don't know why. The staff seemed very nice, except our server who seemed constantly distracted and only provided the necessities, refilled my water after it had been empty for more than a couple minutes, we had to stop him and ask for more chips, etc. the food was mediocre at best, we were looking for as close to an authentic Mexican restaurant as we could get here in the south and we were more than disappointed. Maybe we are spoiled growing up in Arizona with ma and pa Mexican restaurants and taco shops on every corner but I think anyone would agree with me that this place was an embarrassment to Mexican food. Everything was under-spiced. I ordered an enchilada and a Chile relleno combo, two of my regularly ordered items, both came with unseasoned ground beef with bland red enchilada sauce and half melted cheese on top. Almost like Tex mex style but worse. My plate came with beans and rice and the beans were the best part of my plate (really the only part I didn't dislike) and they could have easily come from a can. The chips and salsa provided after we sat down were good but tasted like store bought or Great Value brand, not fresh at all. We will not be returning or recommending. read more

We went on taco Tuesday during happy hour. The tacos were simple but tasty. No tomatoes. No onions and no lettuce, just meat and cheese. We also ordered a chalupa and a tamale. I guess I like taco bell chalupas and canned tamales, but they were OK. I had two 12 oz. Frozen Marquaritas and they were strong. I was drunk, no kidding. He had the 32 oz. Beer.
