My girlfriend and I went on a staycation to Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino, and as a part of the hotel package, we received a voucher for Agave's Restaurant. We stayed from a Saturday evening until Sunday. After checking out of the hotel and playing in the casino a bit more, we decided to wrap up our journey at Agave's for brunch. There was about a 15-20 minute wait for a table on a Sunday morning around 10 AM though seeing that there are chairs outside the restaurant and the casino only feet away, the time passed very quickly. We each ordered a Two Egg Breakfast though with different options from hashbrown casserole, hashbrowns, toast, pancakes, bacon, and fruit. The server was very flexible on substitutions. The food was delicious and certainly very filling. We were thinking of ordering hot chocolate to go, but they did not have to-go cups for beverages. In addition to breakfast, they have a nice variety of lunch dishes, too. The prices are very reasonable! We had a $30 voucher to use, and to be honest, we struggled to get close to that amount. Most meals ranged in cost from $7 to $11. Juices, coffee, and other drinks were only $2 each. This certainly is a good place to get a tasty brunch at a reasonable price. The only downside is that with brunch being so busy on the weekends, the service while helpful took a long while to get anything from the bill to asking a question to getting an order. Breakfasts are generally ok for the price. Forget the pancakes, dense and not good. My bacon was totally tough and over cooked. Ant the wait time was long. Forget about dinner!! Very over priced for everything. I ordered the $24.00 meatloaf dinner and the best part was the mashed potatos. The meatloaf was dry and had no flavor. The few tiny cuts of broccoli had no flavor at all. I could not even finish it. My husband had the steak, expensive, and it was tough and just ok. I enjoyed my meal, and we returned for lunch which was actually better! I ordered the hash browns well done and they were perfect, so rare for them to actually be well done. Ordered a rib eye steak last night that was $24, came with a salad and a side. Salad was good, just your standard. And the baked potato was on point. But the steak that I ordered medium rare was a joke! It was about 1/4" thick MAX and cooked over well done. Okay and keeping with the other one star reviews oh, don't waste your money! Three of us went to Agaves two of us had what was supposed to be a ribeye steak for $48 and it turned out to be what should have been on a steak sandwich at about three eighths of an inch thick. One person had the New York steak and it was barely passable for the money spent. This place is a real joke I was there two weeks ago and I will never go back! read more

The one star is for the food not the people. Everyone was very polite but the food was horrible. The salad was warm, the entree's were not hot. My $48 ribeye was paper thin and the sides were too salty to eat. $100 flushed right down the drain. Don't waste your money. read more

There were flys everywhere. They were landing on my food, table, body, drinks. I couldn't eat fast enough to get out of there. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. I didn't ask for my money back but I can tell you I will never eat there again. read more

The service is terrible. The servers are slow. They forget to bring the condiments that you asked for. My order has been wrong most of the time. This restaurant use to be good. Not any more We we're six people for dinner Saturday night after gambling. One friend ordered a chicken Caesar salad told waitress it was her dinner bring when you bring everyone's dinner. No she got it with salads. The others couldn't eat the fries they were soooo salty. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and there was a BUGA in my food. Told waitress she left it in front of me and went to another table. My friend asked for the manager who came over and removed my food apologized. All of a sudden this other manager came from the casino to the other end of the table. I highly recommend Agave's! I've been to Agave's many times and enjoyed it each time. I hadn't gone for a while but recently went and they had changed their menu. It was breakfast time so I had the breakfast quesadilla and it was awesome! A lot of food so many will take some of this home or up to their room (if you're staying there). I met a colleague out here for breakfast. It's so far away from where I live, but it was one of a few restaurants that were open at the time. I decided to have the Breakfast Burrito (Scrambled Eggs, Chorizo, Green Chilies, Roasted Potatoes, Monterey Jack Cheese, Sour Cream, Refried Beans), $8. We are new to visiting Ak Chin and have had lunch there many times, at the Chop & Brew while the Agave was remodeling. We would always order the Prime Rib French Dip sandwich. Excellent sandwich. Well now, since the Agave has reopened for breakfast & lunch, we were told they will not have this sandwich on the daily menu. Bummer. We would drive out just for this sandwich. Our family of 4 grabbed lunch here after spending time at the pool. We were our on a waiting list and we're told it would be 35 minutes. We were seated in about 15 minutes. Kathy was our server. I received a broken glass, soda leaking everywhere and practically had to yell fire to get the host to track down a waitress...but not ours though, he didn't come back once unless we flagged him down. Meanwhile, we watched him be attentive to every guest besides us. Half of my order was forgotten, was told we're "cooking it now". Had to flag down waiter for refills and the check. Just awful. I have eaten here before and it was great. I had breakfast there today and it was one of the worst meals I've ever had. The hash brown potatos were raw. The bacon tasted nasty, the eggs were tasteless, even the soda was awful tasting. My husband got sick to his stomach and threw up. Food is good. I had breakfast--served anytime--at 1pm. Eggs benedict. It was traditional and very good, all fresh ingredients even the side of hash browns. Cooked perfectly. Better than you often get especially hollandaise sauce. Service was good. It's a cafe, nothing fancy. They can do a better job of buddies g the tables and wiping down tables do they are clean. Looks like they pick up but it's a hit or miss if they actually clean the tables to be clean. Mine wasn't and the one next to me either. The condiments--sugars, jellies, etc, stocked on tables are not refreshed. It's not busy at all but tables are also left un-bussed while the staff walk around between the floor and the back. My glass on the outside feels like the dishwashing machine left debris all over it. It's a little gross. A for good, B for service, A for quick order and food delivery, C for cleanliness. D for laziness of the lacksidasical staff. I liked the restaurant for how good food is and quick order and delivery I was not in a hurry.. Was excited to eat here for the first time, since it was my first time staying at the Harrahs hotel. Chicken parmigiana is one of my favorites along with wings. They had both. However, despite my server being really nice, I had to literally wait 55 minutes for my food as I watch my server bring tables food out that had gotten there 15 to 20 minutes after me. Each time my sever apologized to me. I finally let a manager know, he was nice also. He went into action and had my wing appetizer and my main dish out a few minutes later. To my disappointment the chicken parmigiana was horribly dry, hard, overcooked, and the cheese on top was far from tasting like mozzarella. I was starved so I tasted some of the pasta and the garlic bread. I was over it, I asked them to box up my wings for me and asked for the check. The check came out with no discounts but my sever did offer a dessert, but I don't do sweets. After seeing the enough I asked for the manager to basically tell him of my disappointments. He was sincere and apologetic. In the end he ended up taking care of the bill which I wasn't expecting but unfortunately I don't thing I will be back. I've been very happy with Agave's. I always get the chilaquiles because they are delicious! Warning, they can be on the spicy to very spicy side, but that's part of why I love them. We've also shared the side pancake because the one pancake is huge and very tasty. I also pick off the bf's potatoes, which are also very good. The servers have always been prompt and attentive. Took the Hubby here for breakfast after staying the night at the hotel for his bday. Kelsey? was our server. She was nice enough. The eggs benedict were okay, but it is sad that they can't make the roasted potatoes without rosemary, didn't know they had rosemary when I ordered them. Since I couldn't eat the potatoes I had hashbrowns brought out and there was only a couple edible bites. The hubby was about 3/4 through his food and noticed that there was a hair in his food. What the heck, I was thinking four stars but five is right! It's hands down the best spot for Breakfast in Maricopa. We have tried all the spots and Agave's takes the cake. No, it's not comparable to a few of the high fluting Scottsdale casino spots, but it's perfect for Maricopa and it gets the job done. I have tried a few items but my favorite is the basic Bacon, Cheddar omelette with hashbrowns (from scratch), and an English muffin. My husband always tries something different each time, he favors their pancakes and says their gravy is good... And for some bizarre reason their coffee is out of this world delicious! The servers tell us each time that it's Foldgers special blend, but we don't believe it! We sit outside EVERY time we go to Agave's. The patio has misters, fans, and I think the best service. We love our gals at Agave's and they now know my usual breakfast order. I was hesitant to write this review because I don't want all of Maricopa to know my secret spot!!! read more

This place is a hidden gem that many may not realize is here for breakfast. We have come about 5-6 times now. We were so disappointed in some of the other restaurants in town, that we had to keep looking. This is one of the best breakfast places in town. My food has always been good, coffee hot, and my husband loves the hollandaise sauce. Service sometimes can be a bit slow, but usually pleasant. Never been here for lunch, but definitely give them a try for breakfast. read more
