We always make a stop at Aggarwal Sweets whenever we visit Surrey, and overall it's one of our family's favorite spots for Indian snacks and sweets. This visit, we ordered the aloo tikki chaat, samosa chaat, and soya chaap. All three were packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. The kids tried the mango shake and chocolate shake, which they loved. Unfortunately, the vanilla shake was disappointing and tasted more like plain milk than a flavored shake. For our main meal, we had the chowmein and chole bhature, both of which were good and satisfying. My husband is a big fan of their dosa and usually orders it every time we visit. Sadly, this time it was a complete disappointment. The masala filling had a strange smell, and the dosa itself seemed undercooked. He only managed a few bites before leaving the rest. Before heading home, we picked up a variety of sweets. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, with the Mango Delight being our favorite. We also enjoyed seeing their juice bar and ice cream station, which offer plenty of additional options. The restaurant was very busy and crowded during our visit, but the bathrooms were clean and well maintained, which we appreciated. I was introduced to this place by an Indian friend of mine who goes here all the time with his family. Simply put, they have amazing Indian food (all veg-friendly) and even as someone who normally eats meat, everything was delicious and I have learned a lot about Indian cuisine by eating here. The only small gripe is that the other guys who came with us, because the wait staff saw that there was only one Indian at the table, gave us "mild" spice level even though we we asked for at least "medium" for everything. Probably because they were afraid we would be turned off if it was too spicy, but as all of us could handle spice, it was a bit of a letdown. However, next time, my friend specifically spoke only in Hindi to the waitress and made sure to specify clearly that we wanted spicy and it was outstanding on all counts. read more

Our family (4 adults & 2 children) went for a late lunch on Saturday to Aggarwal Sweets. The Restaurant was packed & we had a 10 minute wait , before a table was available to us. We had 2 Veg Grill Sandwiches, one Fried Rice, One Burger Set & one simple burger with only a pattice , one Paneer with Capsicum & onions dish & 2 Tea & a single bhatura for the kids. The Veg Grill Sandwiches x 4 half pieces were served with barely half a dozen spicy chips, the Burger had a spartan helping of french fries & the Fried Rice had hardly any cauliflower, carrots, peans, corn , beans , spring onions in it. The Paneer dish had about 8 pieces of Paneer & 3 capsicum & onion pieces . Overall the taste of the Food was good , but we noticed that (like virtually all Indian Veg restaurants in lower mainland now) quantities had greatly reduced while prices had been increased steeply . (very disappointing). While increase in prices may be acceptable , the reduction in quantities is not right. Aggarwal's used to be a good restaurant till about 10 yrs ago, when major renovations were done, Menu curtailed & prices started creeping up . Of late as mentioned quantities of the food was reduced. Service was average with cutlery served with no forks, condiments for the burgers & fried rice had to be requested (restaurant provided 2 packets of tomato ketchup each). No cut chillies soaked in Vinegar, Soya Sauce, Chillie sauce etc was available -unlike other Indian restaurants. Taste of food was good . I don't come to Surrey often, and especially not Payal Business Centre cause it's not the easiest to get to, but when I do, I always make sure to stop at Aggarwal Sweets. They sell lots of sweets here but we usually get the chaat or other savory foods to go. Our go-tos are the samosa, as they're very big and you can ask for extra chutney for free, and the dal tadka. For some reason, I'm absolutely obsessed with the dal tadka here and think it tastes way better than anything we make at home or get at other places. A large size ($20) will last me 3 meals, so portions are generous. From the other chaat, the chole bhature was also pretty solid. We've also picked up some sweets here, and the milk cake was good. read more

As first time visitors to Surrey, this place came up in our research as one of the best spots for chaats and Indian sweets. Their chole bhatura specially came highly recommended. We stopped here one afternoon to have a late lunch/ early snack. The wide variety of sweets displayed caught our eyes and my daughter immediately wanted to have the motichoor ladoo. We were told that we could get sweets as a to-go or sit down and order from one of the tables. The restaurant was jam packed, and the seating situation was something like find your own table. We managed to find an empty table and had to wait to make eye contact with one of the servers to place our order. This is nothing new for someone from India, but might be surprising to someone who hasn't been to a similar place. We were quick to order kachori, chole bhatura, mango lassi and 2 motichoor ladoos. We could see that their chole bhatura was the most popular item by the number of orders placed for it in tables around us. The kachori and lassi were the first to arrive and both tasted delicious. The lassi specially had a stronger flavor of mango (and not yogurt) as we prefer. The chole bhatura came next and though it looked delicious, the chole sadly lacked flavor. No complaints on the bhatura though, it was perfect! We had to remind them about the ladoos before they finally arrived. My daughter polished them off quick before I could get to taste. She said they were amazing. Overall a good experience, I would love to go back to try more of their sweets and chaats. read more

We were missing home food and decided to give it a try. Place was busy and people were being served with a smile. On our table was pav bhaji, chole bhature, spicy Hakka noodles and mango lassi. Pav bhaji lacked any flavour. We barely managed to finish it. So were the noodles. Totally avoidable . Mango lassi was cold and refreshing on a hot day. Chole bhature won hands down! I have been meaning to stop by for some Indian sweets but because I don't live close by I put it off. I went on Diwali and I am NOT disappointed! My experience was excellent! They were cooking the Jalebi outside under a tent, right when you turn the corner you get this awesome sweet buttery aroma wafting through the air. Once inside it's so overwhelming with all the hustle and bustle of people and selection of treats available for the choosing! I will DEFINITELY go back here for Indian sweets. Yes there are places in town closer to me that sell these sweets but the flavour and quality are just not there. read more

This place is very spacious and clean and opens early at 10 am, okay done with the positive! I ordered 2 items here and they were not very good at all. The veggie pakoras which should be an easy item to make was too doughy and barely had much veggies in it. The sauces that it came with were also nothing special. The second item I got was a besan burfi, it was terrible. All I tasted was sugar and no flavor of besan. I have a sweet tooth but this was just all raw sugar and no flavor. I would stay away from this place and go to Prabu sweets which has authentic Indian snacks and home made tasting sweets. read more

The Payal Businesses Center was recommended to us by our Punjabi neighbor. This is the little India in Southern British Columbia. It is worth stopping by if you love good Indian cuisine. We didn't have any regrets and this is the highlight of our food trip. Parking here is a little harsh; the place is busy and spots are tight. Watch out when you're backing up. Seating- a waiter will seat you; they'll bring you water and menu. Your table will have a number which will be useful when closing your check; go to the cashier by the sweets section to pay & mention that number. Food- absolutely delicious! I don't think I've had any better Indian food somewhere else. I got the Chana Samosa and it's the most flavorful Indian food I've tried. In fact, every dish we've ordered was so good. We also took home some sweets. They're some of the best we've had; Watch out if you're lactose intolerant. The sweets are not for you. Service- Our server is a young lady who did a beautiful job! I've been here a couple of times and it is definitely a must stop place in Surrey; especially for those like me who drove up there from Seattle. We've tried a bunch of their dishes now. The BEST: Amritsari Kulcha - Easily the star of the show. Two massive potato stuffed kulchas, hot from the tandoor and cooked perfectly that taste amazing just by themselves. Add to that some spectacular chole and you have their most winning combination. My only nit here is that the chole is enough for only one of those kulchas (because it's so insanely good) so I needed to ask for an extra side of it Gobi Paratha - Two HUGE gobi parathas that are perfectly spiced and seasoned and stuffed. Easily their best paratha, nicely crisp on the outside and served with dahi, achaar and butter. Mithai - Absolutely love their chamcham. I'ts my personal favorite. Probably the best thing they have. Everything else is also really good. I bought more than 10lbs of assorted sweets from them during Diwali for my office and everyone absolutely loved everything. The OKAY: Paneer Paratha - Somehow it just didn't compare to the Gobi. It was relatively bland and a little chewy. I'd skip this one and get the gobi instead. Chole Bhature - The bhature were a tad too thick and oily for my liking. I know that some people prefer that but I like them lighter and crispier. Also, the chole was not enough for the two massive bhature. Veg parokas - These were just mehhh. I'd avoid these altogether. Overall the food is quite good, the prices are very reasonable and the portions are humongous. I'd definitely recommend stopping by here for their specialty items and the sweets. read more

This place reminded me of home!!! The sweets tasted yummy and delicious! I tried a few like kova with jamun, chandrakala ( sweet samosa), rasagula with kova, jilebi! Everything was tasty! The chaat was good too! Loved the pain puri, bhel puri! I also tried the chole batura paneer version! This dish was OMG!!!! It tasted delicious and was definitely different! Came here for a quick breakfast cum brunch before heading out to Stanley park. This place is located inside the Payal business center. Wow- I must say I am impressed by the number of Indian businesses here. It's a convenient place to do all of your Indian shopping without going anywhere else- clothes, grocery, sweets, snacks- you name it. We were immediately seated and our order was taken. We came here the next day as well. Too convenient since it's one of the few places that opens at 10 am. On the first day we ordered tea, coffee, paav bhaji and chole bhature. I must say, we were not impressed by the taste of the food. Paav bhaaji was decent but it could have more of the masala to make it taste more like the authentic paav bhaaji. The chole lacked flavor. The coffee was too watery and the tea too milky. We came back next day just to save some time before heading back to Seattle. This time, we ordered one coffee, masala dosa and samosa chana. I wanted to get vada sambar but they were out of vada. The coffee was really good this time. Dosa was ok but the samosa chana was great. They have maintained the place really neatly. Carrot pickle not great, Cholle were ok, waitresses were nice and polite.
