Minimal service I…read morecame here for the first time since my usual nail salon is about two hours away and I was hoping to find something closer. I requested a full removal of builder gel, a trim back down to my natural nail length, and then a regular gel polish. The removal itself was fine, but I did feel a little uneasy because the technician using the electric drill was frequently looking away from my nails while the drill was still pressed down. Once the gel color was applied, I asked for what I thought was a fairly simple leaf design. The first attempt unfortunately looked very messy and uneven--almost like a child had drawn the leaves. I ended up waiting for another technician to finish her client so she could redo the design. The second tech did improve it, but the process took much longer than expected. Overall, the solid color gel application was fine, but it seems like more practice may be needed for nail art designs.

These barbers seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than cutting hair. It was like watching paint dry. When I finally got seated, I told the black barber that I just wanted a shorter version of my current cut. He immediately took his electric clippers and shaved the left side of my hair almost to the skin. I was shocked! It was like he was giving me a white not d feed ase. I thought told him to stop and I got out of the chair. He was gracious and didn't charge me, so I went to Supercuts where I was seen immediately and got a salvage job. However, it will be at least another month before it grows out. The Garfield strip exemplifies my cut. Avoid this barber shop at all costs!

I got my hair done by Sandra and I spent a few hours in the chair but then at the end my hair wasn't like the pictures I showed. My appearance didn't look different from how it was before the appointment much at all. So I went back the next day and showed Elizabeth the pictures and she agreed it wasn't the same as what I ended up with. So then her and Sandra made a plan on how to fix it right then. They were kind about it and said it would be fixed free of charge. Then within the same week Sandra was able to get me in again and correct the mistake and my hair looks just how I wanted it to. And they even gave me a bottle of the heat protectant that I was asking about. I really appreciate how professional they were in fixing a mistake and they were kind about it as well.

I will say I tried to go on Saturday with an appointment but was told there were two people ahead of me once I got there. So appointments on busy days like the weekend really are not effective. Not a problem with staff, but seems to be a store policy to accept walk-ins, even if there are appointments booked. I ended up canceling on Saturday and came back today to give it a second try and was very happy with the timing. Don't go on a busy day and don't look for appointments to be honored on a busy day.
