loaded grilled cheese, autumn squash soup
    Sam L.

Cute cafe, lovely interior design and friendly staff. Really liked how the guy behind the counter seemed to know a lot of the customers personally which is always a good sign. Ordered the loaded grilled cheese with autumn squash soup, latte and a walnut muffin. To start, I loveeed the food, everything was fantastic. The loaded grilled cheese was tastefully loaded, the fresh tomato was the perfect touch, and the bread was completely delicious. Soup was not too sweet which I liked. And the muffin was very nutty, also not too sweet, which really lets the flavor shine. The one miss may have been the plain latte. Made me think I had covid for a second because it just tasted like burnt milk... but you know maybe it was an off day. I think I overheard that they make all their syrups in house which is very cool, perhaps next time I'll try one of those. I believe in second chances and who am I to deny this clemency to Aglaia's lattes. I would honestly come back just for the food and pastries. I would recommend this place and would come again!

Because there's so many places to get coffee around here I have overlooked this many times and finally came in. It's located not far from the Chicago Avenue Blue Line. Aglaia is best known for the coffee of course. Even so, be sure to get some of the food. They can get pricey on some things. After looking for a place to get breakfast and do some work, I chose to come here. It was close by at the time, and I had read good things about it. This is a pretty cozy yet spacious area in an old warehouse. It's about $5 for a latte. Then add a bit more for non dairy milk. Kind of expensive. Then there's the food. Has a pretty small food menu for breakfast. It's about $11 for Avocado Toast. An unique thing is the toast is topped with avocado mousse. This is a big change from the common slices. Interesting texture and full of flavor. This comes with an organic soft boiled egg, but leave this off to make it vegan. Also has organic pickled onions. This comes on toasted PQB sourdough. Good except that it's too expensive. It has very good but not that special coffee, at least not as expensive as they charge for it. The food is okay but also expensive, with some meaty choices as well as things for vegetarians.

I wanted a simple easily accessible place near the office for lunch. I remember that they offered lunch when I stopped before. They have a small menu for lunch options. I had been craving a panini type grilled cheese. And they have it. So I ordered it. The bread was crunchy and had lots of cheese. It was greasy and I felt it had too much cheese. One of the cheese was strong in taste which was good but too much grease I can't order it again. There was an option of side salad or chips. For the price I was expecting a bigger sandwich or different kind of bread. May try something else next time but this would be a last thought for lunch. They do not take cash.

A friend & I were in the mood for a coffee meet up. So we decided to try Aglaia Coffee & Tea co. since we had never been. We wanted a place tucked away off the beaten path. I had driven by many times so I was looking forward to our visit. I love this area because it is not overrun with crowds. Not yet anyway... Wow! It was so much more than I expected! Stylish. Attractive. Cozy. Brick walls, artwork, huge windows and a marble counter create a beautiful space. There's a bit of a mid-century vibe about the place and it all works. They offer coffee, tea, savory and sweet bites. My friend's avocado toast looked great and she said it was delicious. She loved her cortado and my oat milk matcha latte was incredible. The surprising thing is they also sell homemade healthy dog treats, beautiful candles and more. They were doing wreath making classes today too. I am a fan and will certainly return soon!

A fantastic little out-of-the-way coffee shop with great food selections, and even the new trendy mushroom coffee!! My Cortado was perfection! They also sell doggy treats and wonderful candles. Enjoyed time spent with a friend over coffee and will definitely be going back. ( hopefully the couple that was making out on the couch and grabbing each other won't be there next time. )

I drank most of it before I even thought about taking a picture... so, may not be the best pic. But it's real good!

I'm visiting from California and had an appointment with Aire Chicago down the street. I didn't have breakfast yet so I wanted something quick, healthy, and GOOD! I found it here at Aglaia! I got the spinach, green apple, and orange smoothie and it not only tastes great, it's got me feeling great. Also, this place is BEAUTIFUL! Ambiance was amazing. Some music in the background would liven this place up even more ;). If I'm ever back in Chicago I won't hesitate coming back.

    Family Sunday!

Thank you so much for hosting our family yesterday morning. The coffees were all delicious as was the avocado toast, bagels and lox, muffins, and grilled cheese. Everything was YUMMY and the atmosphere was perfect! The restaurant is so clean and relaxing. See you again soon.

Beautiful lights to complement the delicious organic creations of this amazing neighborhood coffee shop.

Firstly I must thank my husband's good taste in fine coffee. His eager, organic search lead to Aglaia. I was delighted to see the list of organic drinks in the menu. I had the dirty chai, and he had the Americano. We both want to go back and try out everything on the menu now! Beautiful creations, lovely owners that care about their community, and a location that will be cool to walk to on Saturday mornings in the spring and summer. Also, I believe Aglaia is dog friendly, they had some dog treats on the counter. Aglaia can correct me if I'm wrong. I am a future dog owner who is starting to notice little details everywhere I go.

It doesn't taste like blueberry or coconut, tastes like a subtle cashew butter. I couldn't figure out what it was, it's kind of sweet but leans more savory--it clicked that it has a similar profile to nut butters. The granola is so delicious and it's added at the bottom and top. What's the granola bc want to buy this!! The coconut whipped cream was also really good; it melted with the base and made it sweet. The bad stuff: I wish the consistency was thicker. It was smoothie in a bowl, super watery and you have to eat it like soup towards the end. Strawberry Acai Bowl (4/5): This tastes nothing like strawberry, but it's the best banana berry flavor I've ever had. Banana so easily over powders other flavors which I why I avoid it, but this was very subtle and has more berry flavors, without it being tart. I did get sick of it once I finished, but I'm just not into this flavor in general. Again, the consistency is too watery! I had to slurp this up. I also like how protein powder is automatic with the bowl, you can choose whey or vegan protein powder. With the strawberry açaí, you can go sweetened or unsweetened. Serving size is really big, but total was a little over $15, with tip. Honestly worth it.

Refreshing, clean, and actually satisfying. Service is just okay. It usually takes a while to get drinks since it seems like one person is handling everything, and today wasn't any different. Not terrible, just something to expect if you're in a rush. They do offer a decent selection of quick food options, and there are tables if you want to stay. Also nice that it's not limited to Equinox Gold Coast members--you can stop by even if you're just in the area. One detail I liked: the bamboo-style straw. Super sturdy--didn't bend or break even when I bit down on it, unlike the usual flimsy ones. Small touch, but it stood out.

Originally on a mission for a smoothie, I was greeted by a friendly staff member and a much larger menu than expected. There is a slew of inventive food that all looked amazing, ranging from sandwiches to noodles and sushi. I opted for the Maca Picchu smoothie, a mini cranberry muffin, and an empanada. I was blown away by how flavorful everything was! The smoothie was creamy, lightly sweet, and very refreshing. The mini muffin tasted like a firmer version of edible cookie dough and was a perfect sweet treat. The empanada was not crunchy, but it was flavorful and the vegan cashew cream was incredibly smooth. I was really impressed not only by the taste of the food, but the texture and presentation as well. There is a level of detail and care that is apparent and really exceptional.
