(Update at the end) I got some of the worst customer service face-to-face in a very long time at this store today. Got a $250 fancy gas fire pit from this place that stopped working. The guy there was no help. No service, no diagnosing, troubleshooting or even willingness to try. Parts take a long time so he literally discouraged me from ordering parts. Then said "maybe" it's a simple part, but shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know. The end. I picked it up and walked out and he could care less. I might as well bought this online. They have no support for the products they sell or at least 100% failed to offer it to me today for whatever reason. ** Update 24 hours after posting this as a 1 star review) *** The owner called me the next day and apologized for the situation. He asked for the serial number and said he's going to order the thermal coupler and let me know when it comes in. He seemed very helpful and knowledgeable in figuring out what the issue was by asking questions. All of which was something his employee didn't do for some reason so he said he'll address that with him as well. So it looks like he's trying to make it right and I appreciate that. read more

Besides my previous two experiences here today I called to get the price for propane to fill up our RV tanks. I asked the question and the person asked if I was paying cash or credit as there are different prices. Looking back at that moment I should have just told him that in the time it took him to ask me that question he could have just told me the two prices, but I said it doesn't matter to me which way I pay. He then said the cash prices was 2.75 a gallon and that's the best price. He never offered to tell me the credit price so honestly I will go somewhere else even if I do pay a little more. So after going to McLendons for a replacement part to my propane tank they told me they didn't have the part. They did however show me how to Jerry-rig it.... I don't think so, not with a propane tank. I usually never give out 5 stars but I was sooo pleased with these guys. I asked the gentleman for a specific part. He wasn't too sure what I needed so he brought out several random parts. I found the part I needed and he told me to just go ahead and take it and come back for propane refills. I've been getting my tanks refilled here for 20 years, the service is always great and the staff is super friendly. But today as I was waiting for Chris to fill my tanks an man came over to thank him and gave him $3. Turns out the man is a retired Soldier, and he had called looking for a fitting. It was close to closing so the owner told him he couldn't wait because he had a family situation. But, he told him he'd leave the part on the outside window sill so he could get it when he could. Well he never knew if the part got to the right person, but it was gone the next day. It took a month or so but the Soldier came said he had to keep his word and pay for the part. I came into this store on a recommendation from a good friend. I've been looking to purchase a Holland grill and was told this is the go to place to do this as they are the experts in the field. I'm glad I listened to my friend. I spoke with a guy named Chris who turns out to be one of the owners. Super nice guy and very knowledgeable on the product. He's got 20 years in the business and it showed. I asked a ton of questions, including some I knew the answer to looking to see if he's try to play the "single female let's mess with her card". Not at all. I left that day without my grill but I can tell you this, when I'm ready to pull the plug and make the purchase this place and Chris specifically, have my business. He also had some meat on the grill at the shop and good gawd did it smell wonderful!!! Kind of hard to conduct business when your stomach is growling! read more

New Year's Eve 3 o'clock they say they are open till 5. Been a long time customer. Pulled up and guy was coming out and locked the door. Told him I just needed to exchange a co2 canister. He said he hadn't had a customer in 3 hours and was going home. Said all I need is to exchange the co2 he said he just his alarm and was going home. I want to support local businesses but this place doesn't want the business. He even said he is only guy on the hill that has it. Taking my business some where else now. I went to buy some parts for my Holland Grill. They don't know anything about Holland grills. They sold me the wrong part for a gas nozzle and then after repeated calls, they lost a replacement nozzle in the mail because it was improperly packaged, if it was ever in there at all. After 10 additional phone calls, I drove 40 miles one way, to pick up the correct nozzle. Not wanting to ever have to deal with these guys again, I asked to see the packaging for this third nozzle, he refused to show me that the propane nozzle was the right size (which is what started this in the first place). He started screaming at me and flipped out. I mean the cords in his neck bulging flip out. Another customer left the store it was so uncomfortable. I made a comment in front of another customer that this was the worst customer service I had ever received and Chris proceeded to call the police to have me removed from the store, although I was heading for the door at the time. The customer who had proceeded me out said, Chris is a thug. He hates dealing with him and thought he was crazy. The other employee has no idea what he is doing and you are throwing your money away if you shop there. read more

The service is awesome. A couple years ago the power went out and of course both my propane tanks were empty. No power anywhere around on South Hill, these guys were running on a generator and open. And they took 10% off as an emergency discount!! They also make some custom hoses for me as well that have help up really well. This place is top notch!! read more

Worst customer service ever. We were on vacation in the area and our grill needed fixed. We called in and they said they could provide the service. They said the guy that could fix it would be in the next day at 9. We went in at 10 and the guy wasn't there. We waited another 45 min and when he did show up he said he wouldn't work on our grill because (and I quote) "didn't want to get his hands dirty for only $50 per hour." He would only work on unused grills. $50 per hour not good enough? NO problem, we will take our business elsewhere. read more
