Overall a pretty solid hardware store. If you're looking for a funky piece for your project this definitely isn't the best store in the area, but for routine needs? Lowe's gets the job done just fine! My trips in this store are very uneventful, just the way I like them! I usually know where to find what I need, though when I need help it's usually pretty easy to find someone and I've never been treated like I don't belong. I recently bought a new washer & dryer from them and have no complaints. Dropped by this store to specifically look for the 50 Pack of the huge Black Garbage bags. Normally, they have these in stock all over the store. But in this instance, when we actually went to the aisle that was supposed to have it 'In Stock,' there were none! So, we walked around the store to see if they had it somewhere else. Even asked 2 sales associates and the first one said, "I do not have a handheld machine to check for you. Can you ask someone else?" We had to ask a 2nd associate and he said they were out of stock. You may be greatly disappointed. Our items were not as described. We bought cement pavers that were not the measurements described. We brought several of them back to the store to show the difference. We were offered a refund if we reloaded and brought the 64 pavers back. A nearly 2 hour ordeal. We asked if they could do a price match with Home Depot. (A whopping $12.80). They said no because not identical manufacturer. To start, I've been a Lowe's customer for many years, mostly because of how conveniently they are located for me. But, one trip to Home Depot changed all that! The Lowe's found in Auburn WA is so lacking in customer service it's not only disappointing, it's down right horrible! Staff who seem to purposefully not acknowledge you and walk by without asking if you need any help (at Home Depot I can barely get through the doors without a friendly and knowledgeable associate asking if I need any help - nice!) or worse still, being made to feel I'm a bother/burden when I ask an associate to get something for me that's up high on the racks! Really?! I'm trying to give Lowe's money to buy something and you want to make me feel like I'm bothering you? And last but not least so many of the Lowes staff seem to have no clue about their products or where they would be or if any are in stock! Online I saw an item I wanted and it showed that 8 were available at my local Lowes. When I went there, there were none to be found! I then tried Home Depot - online it stated 4 were available and when I went there lo and behold 4 were right there on the rack!!! I may still have to shop at Lowes from time to time if I am desperate but it is definitely no longer my go to hardware store. Love this place! Always decently quiet, which makes navigating the store convenient. I feel like it's been much busier since COVID and everyone is staying home with not much else to do other than spruce up their yards. I enjoy several of the employees here. They are pleasant and helpful! There's usually a good selection of items at this store. This store is easy to get in and out of, fair prices and always open. I REALLY like that this store allows you to purchase your mulch inside, without the product, and then load it up afterwards. This is so much more convenient than loading up the mulch onto a cart, bringing it inside to pay and then taking it back outside to load into your vehicle. We were happy and excited to replace our old tired washer and dryer. We generally like shopping at Lowes. We had no reason to shop or go elsewhere. We spent a lot of money on our washer and dryer. We asked a lot of questions in order to cover every anticipated problem (e.g., 3-prong or 4-prong electrical cord?) We were told by the Lowes customer service folks that we would be able to keep the bottom drawers and that the new appliances would be installed on top of the drawers. Wrong!! The CONTRACT (not Lowes employees) delivery personnel driving Lowes delivery trucks refused to place the appliances on top of the drawers because it is against their policy. Specific instructions were left to have it ready to use ( he cannot do his own Assembly) it was to be delivered by noon it so.. I got a call at 11 he was on his way and grill in box.. no no no..I told the cashier (A) abbreviated name.. 3 times must be assembled driver takes it back grudgingly and says we'll assembler retired last week uuumm ok... someone put it together ..took em 2 hours plus waiting on trucks original return to store.. and re delivery.. dinner plans ruined but grill was finally received and the driver was nice.. just a hassle I didn't need. Today, 02/28/2023 was the worse day ever in my life at this AUBURN, WA 98002 LOWES. I was followed by LOWES SECURITY thru my entire visit. I needed a few items for plumbing, but before i went to the plumbing section i decided i wanted to check out a few other things because pictures online dont compare to as seeing items in person. Well as I'm strolling thru the aisles I noticed a security guard making his first presence. I was thinking in my head ok somethings up. That was probably 5-10 minutes into my walk thru in the store. And I was just in the heater / t-stat aisle. Grabbed the T-stat that I think will work for my heater and noticed the security again. Now I'm going down the heater aisle and saw some digital t-stats to see it any of them would work. I took my time reading a couple of instructions on the back and decided if any of them would work. At this point I knew what was happening. Security has thier eye on me. As I walk thru as many aisles as I can because to check out the items I know I needed for my new house My family and I bought just 5 minutes away from this AUBURN,WA 98002 location. I made my way thru the store, saw a few things i neeeded texted my girl on sale prices and clearance items. Went to the lumber section and again the same security comes walking from an aisle. I purposely made eye contact him. And he avoided me and turn into aisle next to where i was headed down (drywall area). And in this aisle is where i me tioned thru in-between aisle and said you dont have to follow me you know. Security responds back with im not following you!!! And again I said you really dont need to follow me thru aisle. At this point im pissed off. I was thinking to myself, I didnt do anything out of the ordinary from my multiple visits to this store in the last 2 months, ive been here before by myself and nothing to this nature has happened. Well to atleast my knowledge. Ive gone into the store at 8pm one time and nothing happened. But today was really inappropriate to a harassment type atmosphere. Never have i felt like a a piece of doodooo ever in any lowes location. As i made my last stop in the APEX PLUMBING AISLE. I felt very uncomfortable. Soooo uncomfortable that I was actually grabbing the items i needed and placing it on the ground so they know i was not stealing anything. Now this is where things got wierd and alarming. Now im actually being checked out by plain clothed security. These guys got as close as to see what i was laying on the ground for my purchase and close enough to me to see what i was typing on my phone to my girlfriend about the situation im in at this point. Im soOoo pissed off that i was going to leave without buying anything. Furious and frustrated i took my time to calm down and grabbed my items i needed and went to the register. As i turned the corner i noticed another security standing at the end of the aisle i was in. And I was scared for my well being and started to be afraid for myself. When I reached the register I then noticed something weird. An older gentleman in plain clothes doing more then he should as a customer. BUT i knew what was going on...he was also security in plain clothes. Intimidating is what this ordeal has come to be. Scaring me to either drop my items and leave or tackle me before i walk out the door. Any which way i felt very scared and Intimidated. I was shaking in fear while headed out the door. As i was leaving the register i mention to the lady i guess in charge of the self check register to tell them to stop following me im not stealing anything thing. She says oh no youre stealing! I told her security is following me because they think I'm stealing. I was and still pissed off to the point of actually wanting to cry. Im only one customer and I know i wont do damage to LOWES reputation but i wanted to let everyone know what happened to me and personally it was all about me being ASIAN. Thats my conclusion of this incident. The first security guard was WHITE and the plain clothes security was white and to make it like its not about RACE they sent out a black security gaurd to cover up the racist move the security gaurd was doing. I wanted to buy a new dishwasher today, since we had to pull out the 1970s model we have to do some repairs behind it. I picked up a Portable Air Conditioner yesterday. The customer service was great! Moreover, the air conditioner works like a charm. My only gripe is the military discount I was happy to see I received $29.90 for my service to this country, but was disappointed when I saw the sales tax that followed. $27.19 for the original price of $299.00. My Great five star review goes to Chris Kim in doors. Chris sat with me for more than an hour helping me to ensure that my door order was correct. Chris was attentive; knew his job, and worked with a computer program that was very clearly having issues (Lowe's you need to update your computer program.) So now for my one star review - Lowe's that's for your dial the store customer service on the phone. When I call the store to reach You people let it ring and ring and ring - people don't answer your phones and the customer service person scarcely gets back on the phone if at all to check back and say anything - it can be an infuriating process. So imagine if you have an order and you want to find out what the status is... Do you really think I'd order ANYTHING from your store again? Read on to find out why else I wouldn't... Now for a two star review... I ordered solid MDF interior doors painted white. I understand that the shipping is taking a long time right now so the fact that the order was placed at the end of October and arrived about two weeks late and in mid-December, is normal. Now we have the doors and they look great - BUT they are NOT the great QUALITY!!! Paint is already coming off. Paying about $431.48 each for an MDF interior door that literally crack when you put screws in - when you install your knob set. OH MY GOODNESS these things are such poor QUALITY. You should NOT have to pilot drill. I sure hope they hold up. We sure don't want to bring these doors back to your store and wait for new doors, what could they possibly be made of? So I guess we should have ordered actual wood afterall and skipped the MDF doors. For anyone who is wondering, an example item number for one of the doors is 1022099 and we had them painted white. They come with jams which are TERRIBLE quality. What ashame. THE DOOR JAMS ARE GARBAGE!!! They are basically made of sawdust with an exterior thin laminate. When you're trying to shim the doors, the head of the screw can pop right through the other side because the material is SO SOFT!!! Lowe's you have quite a store there and such an opportunity to have such an incredible impact on your customers and your community. Why don't you come up with a plan and sell quality products, and get that customer service phone answering department and regular employees to take phone calls!! I have never had a worse customer service experience. while in self check out I witnessed an employee on the phone using profane language multiple times with a raised voice. when I told him that was not good practice and that he would not have a job if I was his manager he told me to mind my own buisiness and "keep walking old Man". as I did he continued to yell at me as I told other emoyees at the register of his actions. they and the manager did not seem very concerned. I went in needing a pipe of a particular length for a little DIY project. One of the aisles is not only stocked with a bunch of iron pipes, but the header at the ends of the aisle even displays "Pipes Cut to Length." Awesome. I grab the pipe closest to the length I need, plus the perfect fittings to finish my project. I find an associate, "Excuse me, can I get this cut to 22 inches?" "Oh, uh, we don't do that." Alright, fine I think, maybe he's new or maybe he just doesn't want to deal with it right now, we've all been there. I find someone else. Same exact reaction. I go back to the aisle to put the stuff away and to double check to see if I'm going crazy. Not only is there the sign at the ends of the aisle that I saw initially, but there's the work station where the pipe cutting takes place. It's clearly regularly used, metal shavings all over it. More big, deceptively friendly signage over the top "Pipes cut to any length, just ask an associate!" So I guess there are employees here just wandering the shelves gaslighting customers. read more

My fridge broke and Lowe's was to deliver a new one. The 1st day they didn't come they had a complication with a previous delivery. The second day they didn't come everyone I asked said they didn't know why. Aaron the delivery manager looked into it and found a different manager did not sign off on it. I'm disappointed in their customer service for delivery but I can say the delivery manager took full responsibility for poor customer service although it was not a day he worked or a situation he was involved in. big box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot are usually hit and miss. You get your share of crappy service or employees who don't seem to give a crap about anything but every once in a while you get a memorable experience from someone that goes above and beyond your expections. I've been in this location a few times and have never left feeling crappy about giving my money to this company. Most stores have the same layout and I never feel like I'm getting ripped off or anything. I do feel the need to share my experience regarding Jim that works in the paint department. Me and my wife just moved into a new condo in Lakeland Hills and wanted to paint some accent walls so we stopped in a different Lowe's location and took a few samples and then decided on a couple colors. We got a quote from a less than helpful guy at that particular location. We shared the info with Jim and he was awesome...not only did he recommend another brand of paint that was just as good but also $20 cheaper per gallon, he took the time to make us feel like valued customers and we really appreciate that. So Lowes gets a 3 but if I could personally rate Jim, I'd give this guy 5 stars. If you need paint in Auburn, stop by Lowes and pay Jim a visit. Jim rocks. read more

Horrible shopping experience during Covid19 quarantine. We just came to get a few bags of dirt and leave, but got stuck at the self checkout witnessing the most unreasonable and racist employee ever. This obviously miserable woman was standing at her kiosk, refusing to help a Latino man who needed help with his register. He was trying to get her attention and the light on his register was flashing, but instead of helping him, she watched an older white lady come through the self checkout and just SHOPLIFT EVERYTHING IN HER CART. Still ignoring the Latino man, she stayed at her kiosk and told took customers who were walking up afterward. When she finally summoned us, we advised her that this man had been needing help for longer and should go first. So she sighed a deep, dramatic sigh and climbed out from behind her kiosk. Instead of fixing the issue, she told him that he couldn't buy the item. After that, she came back to us and proceeded to give us a cross examination about our bags of dirt because one of them was turned backward and looked different. After making us move and inspect every bag of dirt, she REFUSED us our military discount. All of this after we had just watched her allow an old white lady to steal an entire cart of stuff. I won't even get into the mess she was making of the 6' social distancing rule.... I went home and called the store to speak with the manager, Frank Dietz, and the customer service employee told me that the manager of this store does not have a number where people can leave a voice mail or any direct message. I purchased a new Whirpool Refrigerator/Freezer on-line and the Auburn, Washington Store was tasked with fulfilling the order. I ordered on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. I received confirmation that the order would be delivered and installed on Friday, September 3rd. The Lowes Truck arrived and the delivery/install crew were professional. The crew had me sign the delivery receipt and they were off to their next customer. While removing all of the plastic and setting up the drawers, I checked the outside water dispenser. NOTHING. I double checked my water line behind the refrigerator and it was "on" delivering water to this $2,500 Refrigerator. I even read the owners manual and followed their instructions. NOTHING. I called the 800 Service Line and the Support on the Phone was clueless. She did set an appointment for October 1st. The earliest one of their Associates could arrive. She also advised me to call back the store, as they probably do not want service done to a brand new piece of equipment. They would just exchange. I called the store and was hung up on 4 times. I called back to Customer Service and they attempted to find a Manager. I went from hold to again being hung up on. I called back and stated if I get hung up on again, I will grab a megaphone and come down to the store with my paid Invoice in Search of the Store Manager. An Assistant Manager advised me that he needed to send out their delivery team to recheck the installation I received a confirmation at 10:15 PM on Friday 9/3/21 that the Team would be out between 1230 and 4pm. They arrived at 1pm and determined the Refrigerator had "internal issues". They stated to call the store and they would schedule a new delivery and pick up of their defective refrigerator. I again experienced the Business Phone System from Hell. 1st Call at 1:16PM 2nd Call at 1:46 PM 3rd & 4th Call at 3:42 PM An Associate stated she found my Order and Unfortunately for me they do not expect any Whirlpool French Door (4 door) until the middle of October. In between all of my phone calls I did research on the Lowes Website. It states Refrigerator available within 3 to 7 days. When I questioned the Associate she was dumbfounded. She stated some Refrigerators would not be available until 2022. Why would a reputable nationwide business, advertise that they can deliver a product within 3 to 7 days, (knowing that it is out of stock for a minimum of 5 weeks?) This is my first bad experience with Lowes. I have been buying products from them for over 14 years. Whoever is supplying their telephone equipment, they need to scrap that vendor. It makes their entire organization look like the new Taliban running an airport. They need to increase product availability. Lowes should be in the Drivers Seat with Maytag/Whirpool/Frigidaire. It appears that their Service Company needs more Technicians. Not good, if the next Service Tech is 29 days out. I hope you all have a blessed Labor Day.
