I have brought my truck here several times in the last few yrs and they have always treated me fair and with great service. The young lady up front I believe her name is "Cheyenne" is always very polite and informative and I have also dealt with a young mechanic "Dillon" several times, always polite and very knowledgeable. So to get to the point, there was nothing wrong with our vehicle after Dillon looked at it, they let me know what I could do at the house to address the issue and I left with a smile. The point here is they could have charged me to look at my vehicle and then for service and or parts, that we didn't need and so on. But they didn't! That's hard to find these days unfortunately...a fair, honest and client first type of business. An off the wall, not-so-fancy establishment but at this point I just wanted my tire to be fixed or replaced ASAP. Without someone having to convince me that they feel "I am not safe in my vehicles and should consider purchasing larger tires" on my SUV to have them ALL replaced. No Gracias! As I arrived to Mateo's I shared how I know I need to replace one for sure and if he thinks I need more I was willing to have them replaced (Which I just bought 2 a couple months ago). Mateo said I only needed that one and he had it in stock! (YAY!) I gave him my key lock and he immediately started working on my tire since it indeed needed to be changed. The work was done in about 10 minutes WOW! I was impressed! He was nice, courteous and professional. I appreciate a straight-forward business that respects a woman despite my lack on tire knowledge. I showed up stressed out after dealing with an oil pressure issue overnight on my Ram 1500. I got there right at 7:30 when they opened, and before I could even finish parking, a guy named Elijah comes walking straight out with a smile, like he's been waiting for me all morning. I told him what was going on, oil pressure all over the place, worried it was something serious, and he just said, "Don't worry, man. We'll take care of you." And he actually meant it. No corporate script, no fake friendliness, just a guy who clearly knows cars and actually gives a damn. He walked me through everything, what oil they use, why they use it, what filter they were putting on, even checked my air filter and fluids without once trying to upsell me like every other oil place on earth. (You know the kind, the ones who act like your transmission's about to explode if you don't buy their $79.99 "Performance Package.") Not here. Elijah showed me my air filter, topped off my coolant and wiper fluid, and didn't try to sell me anything unnecessary. In fact, he was so genuine that when he mentioned wiper blades, which I actually needed, I bought them without hesitation. That's how you know a guy's honest, when you want to spend money with him. The shop itself is small from the outside, but don't let that fool you, they've got serious equipment and even better attitudes. It's clean, organized, and clearly run by people who take pride in what they do. I'm not even from Houston (I'm up in Dallas), but after this experience, I might just start timing my oil changes for when I'm down here on business. Seriously. I was going to go to Take 5 down the street, but the reviews there read like a horror story, people claiming they didn't even change the oil, just topped it off. Dodged a bullet. Elijah, man, you crushed it. You made what's usually a chore feel like catching up with a friend who happens to be really good at cars. You deserve a raise, a trophy, and possibly your own Netflix show called "The Oil Whisperer." So yeah, if you're anywhere near Houston, skip the chain shops and go to Costa Oil. Ask for Elijah.
