I am a couple weeks behind in giving this review, I was going to write one the day I brought my wife's car in, but life gets in the way. I noticed their card today in my wallet and thought let me do this before I forget again, because they definitely deserve one. I have brought my truck here several times in the last few yrs and they have always treated me fair and with great service. The young lady up front I believe her name is "Cheyenne" is always very polite and informative and I have also dealt with a young mechanic "Dillon" several times, always polite and very knowledgeable. So to get to the point, there was nothing wrong with our vehicle after Dillon looked at it, they let me know what I could do at the house to address the issue and I left with a smile. The point here is they could have charged me to look at my vehicle and then for service and or parts, that we didn't need and so on. But they didn't! That's hard to find these days unfortunately...a fair, honest and client first type of business. First I would like to say that I have had previous oil changes here with no problem. On another occasion one of the owners was nice enough to check a noise my car was making and informed me it was my water pump. I still had an extended warranty and proceeded to take my car to the dealer. The reason for my low review is that when I took my car in last week and asked for an oil change which I also said to the gentleman that helped me " does the oil change include tire rotation?" He stated yes. However when I checked out there was a $19.99 charge for tire rotation. I questioned him and he said he'll put a note in the computer for my next visit. Still not quite sure what that meant, a free tire rotation next time??? Forward to today. I walked out to my car and noticed that the rubber along the hood was pushed up a bit. I opened the hood to find a large screwdriver or pry bar laying there. Obviously it had not moved since it was too big to and it was pinned down by the hood. I called the shop and told Will what I found he asked me to bring it in. I drove to the shop and gave him the screwdriver/pry bar. Two other men that were there insisted that it is not theirs. I told them well, it's note mine. So how did it get under my hood. One man tells me it may have been there from my previous service. Right! That was done by this shop!?!? I told him they did the last service a few days before. He still insisted it was not theirs. Needless to say I am glad there was no horrible damage to my car. It could have been very bad! read more

It has taken me a while to find a shop I trust! I live in Houston, and will drive here now for service. Both times I have come in, they have been honest, given great service, and not trying to sell me anything but just give me facts. I had an inspector at another shop in Houston tell me I needed to replace my brake pads soon. Montgomery automotive, free of charge, looked at my brake pads and assured me I still had more than 15k to go until they needed to be replaced. Really nice people who are always so helpful. I recently took my car to Montgomery Automotive to replace a broken door handle. I brought a brand-new handle and a pad that goes under it that I got from the dealership. I looked at the rating and it seemed pretty good. Besides how hard is it to change a door handle if you are a car mechanic. When I parked I young guy (Austin) came over and asked me what I needed to be done. I said I have an appointment to replace the door handle. He said he can do that. He confirmed the estimate and got to work. I was waiting inside. About 45 minutes later my car was ready. I pulled the handle and saw that the pad was not attached and coming off. I brought it to his attention. His answer was, Oh I just forgot to clip it on one side, and he tried to attach it with the car key. Don't you have the tools. Five minutes later it seemed to be fixed. I drove off, but something was telling me to look at the door again. So, I pulled over and sure enough the inside panel was not clipped to the door. Here we go back to Montgomery Automotive. His reaction, oh it just clips like that. Why didn't he do it right the first time. What was it negligence, lack of experience or lack of work ethics? To top it all, 9 days later part of the handle cracked and fell off. I gave one star only because the receptionist was nice. Other than that, if they can't do such a simple task as handle replacement, I am horrified about the consequences of them doing any more serious repairs. read more

I was referred to this place by a friend. The teen who answered my call mumbled so much I had to ask him to repeat everything he said. He definitely sounded like he would rather be anywhere but answering the phone. I get it. When I arrived, he was just as uncommunicative. They looked at my car and an adult gave me an estimate that was 40% higher than what I was quoted elsewhere. The price for the parts alone were beyond a reasonable markup (I'd already priced them). So I had an absolute horrible experience with Will and his shop. I took my truck in to get a brake job done. I simply told him I need brakes he recommended that I get pads and rotors and quoted me $730. This is my work truck, so I needed it done ASAP and I agreed even though I felt that was extremely high, my expectations were that they have quality service and use quality parts since they are a professional auto shop. Well my experience was anything but that at first Will was very nice and helpful and then when he did the job about 15,000 miles later the brakes were already shot. The pads were extremely damaged, which led to the rotors being damaged Basically the $730 job he did was now needing to be replaced entirely. I went back to him by phone first and never got a callback so a few days later I drove to his shop with the pads in hand and to show him the rotors, and he was supposedly out picking up parts, so I left and tried calling two more times each time leaving a very detailed message about exactly what it happened and how I felt about it the first time I visited him about the pads when I noticed they were prematurely worn. He said he could not warranty them because he had to get them from a dealership and they would not warrantee the pads. My thoughts were well. How is that my problem that he chose to get those pads and put them on my vehicle so he should back the parts that he purchases or he doesn't need to purchase parts they don't have warranties if he's worried about being Reimbursed himself if something happens which I completely understand but it was his choice to buy those pads. He never mentioned anything to me about it and he put them on my truck along with brand new rotors so after looking at the pads and telling me that they were no good and that he could not warranty them. I said OK no problem at that point I thought I was just down a couple hundred dollars for the pads and labor, but I had a friend that was going to do the work for me this time so I took them to him to change out the pads and come to find out the rotors were completely damaged as well. I took plenty of pictures and even we're going to take the parts up to his shop where I ran into a guy name James which when I mentioned What was going on he stated that he had heard my message on the phone and that there's nothing that they can do about it because the rotors were damaged because of the brake pads and the brake pads came from a dealership and we're not warranted. Long story short I went to the dealership they of course, told me that that was a transaction between me and the shop that I would have to go to them about it, which I completely agreed with and the shops transaction was between the dealership which if they bought from them knowing they were not gonna get warranted. That's their fault not mine long story short I was told there was nothing the shop could do he didn't even offer to make anything right or to help at all to be honest with you I left three messages and never received one single phone call back I thought long and hard about leaving this review because I'm a business owner myself and I do not encourage nor like to do negative reviews, especially if you have not tried to make the Matter better with the person you were dealing with, but as this continued on, I decided to leave this review since I never even received a call back or anything and I could not help but think what if this would've happened to somebody that was living paycheck to paycheck and could not afford to spend that amount of money again to replace parts that usually will last 80 to 100,000 miles just after 15,000. I am blessed that I am financially able to cover it but I also know that not everyone is and I did not want him to take advantage of someone that it would hurt much more than it did me, so that is the sole reason why I am leaving this review, I'm not saying don't go to his shop or give him your business because maybe I am one out of 1 million that got treated like that but I did want to share my experience in hopes that it would save someone that might not be as blessed financially, as I am from getting totally ripped off of $750 to some people that's an extremely large amount of money but clearly to Will and Montgomery Automotive that must not be nothing read more

Great customer service. Friendly staff and it was the cleanest place (PLACE...not car place) you could be in. I had my toddler with me and she was the messiest thing about this place. Nice touches like cookies (with tongs to get them with) coffees & varieties of creamers and hand lotions in the ladies bathroom. (Very clean in there as well!) And I mean nice clean & comfortable chairs too. What a nice touch when you have to wait for an inspection...did I mention with a toddler. The service was relatively quick and the service done and we were on our way! Who wants to get their car inspected? Boring...but this place made it as nice as possible. :) read more

I spoke with James who was so helpful he listened to my concerns about my vehicle and damage that was done from a terrible experience I had somewhere else and he literally took all the issues together and came up with a planned estimate at no cost and tightened up something with the turbo that was leaking fluids, that I was purchasing 4 jugs a month ( the job I had already paid someone else to do) so while I was waiting on that estimate, he was saving me money.This showed me integrity and that he would go above and beyond to do the job right. I came back the following week and was completely comfortable leaving my vehicle with James and all the guys here who showed to be steady hard workers and didn't skip a beat. After a few days I received a courtesy call that it was ready and everything I asked for was repaired no issues at all but James still went above and beyond and made sure to point out a noise I had on the right front passenger side that I also knew about, but I wanted to see the work done first and with no questions asked I said please take care of that too, needless to say my car had many issues but by the next day James and his crew took my headache away. The price was very reasonable, very affordable and well worth the value. We limped in after lunch on Saturday after the Big Freeze. Had no acceleration. These guys were great! Got us in, diagnosed and gave us a reasonable quote. Went and got my inspection done. Was in and out in less than 15 mins. Great staff. Very friendly and professional.

About 3 months ago I had an alternator and a battery replaced on my Suburban. The team there was very supportive in the fact that I had to wait in the truck so they started working right away. 3 months later (no fault of theirs) the alternator failed. Went in a spoke to them again, they started working in the car right away and at the end the labor was covered as was the parts. I have used them a couple times before and the service has been great.
