Over priced and half of plants died even with the new drip system they installed. Ordered 6 rocks and they charged me $15000.00 for 1ft by 1 ft rocks. Since I wanted a few more rocks, I went to Sepulveda Building Supply and bought 8 more rocks myself (same size) for $91.00. Do the math. I talked to them about the price but since I signed the papers they would not adjust. Jordan Atkinson the landscaper at Standard is a nice guy but not very professional, sorry to say. The Standard Design Group did a great job with the landscaping for my front yard and back yard. I applied for and received the funds for the LADWP turf replacement rebate, thanks to Jordan and his team. He did sight visits to my property and worked with me to bring my ideas to life. He was careful to make sure we met all the requirements for the rebate program, while sticking to my budget. Jordan has a lot of knowledge about drought resistant plants and made great recommendations. We went through a few design iterations before the final installation. Both projects only took 3 days to complete, including turf removal, new irrigation system, ground cover and new plants. The crew was very good at communicating any questions or issues that came up during installation. Jordan followed up quickly to replace any damaged or forgotten plants from the delivery. The whole process was straightforward and enjoyable. My plants are thriving and they require very little maintenance. read more

The McDonald's of landscape design. It's been a pretty rough experience. We started back in December and worked with a lead designer. He ended up having sickness and delays and excuses. Two months went by and I called the main line. We were assigned a new designer who came out and was very nice. You meet with someone smart who has a nice design, but then that person never comes back again, not even on or after installation day. Obviously that will create issues. Our primary and most expensive plant was wrong. They kindly replaced it after I had to take several photos instead of them just coming out and saving me the time of having to do additional legwork to prove to them it was wrong. Additionally, a few of the plants died and I'm not sure if it's because of the plant or because the drip system we paid for was done incorrectly. I asked them to test that after two months of trying to reach them getting this set up they finally schedule the time to come. I left work early that day to be here inside their window and they ended up coming early. The crew, again, not with the designer, had no idea what to do. They were planting in the wrong garden and just made a bigger mess of everything. Additionally, they did not check the drip system that I had asked repeatedly and had been told repeatedly that they would do. I reached out to our designer I sent emails to the company asked to talk to the owner who would listen and it's just a ghost town. I realize at $6K we're likely not their biggest project by far, but it's still a good chunk of money for us and their processes clearly aren't designed for an excellent result. read more

We contracted with The Standard Design Group a month ago to update our landscaping. Jordan was our designer and contact point. We needed many new plants interwoven with existing plants, new lighting , new sprinklers, and stone replaced with mulch. The estimate came it at exactly the same as other estimates. Except Jordan found a broken pipe and realized we'd need another transformer which he Included in the estimate. Other nurseries would have just charged more in the end as they did not initially figure this out. The time to complete was only a week, much faster than other contractors. Jordan has 15 years of experience and it showed in his plant selection and attention to detail. We are so happy with the finished product. No plants have died and the lighting looks great at night. We have a variety of pinks, reds, purples, yellows that look so pretty against the dark mulch. There were a couple glitches as the project progressed but Jordan handled everything promptly. We whole heartedly endorse this nursery and be sure to ask for Jordan to make your project look beautiful, and to be sure it comes in on time and budget. read more

I obtained three estimates to remove approximately 650 sq.ft. of turf in front of my house and replace it with an array of drought tolerant plants. I had a budget of $10,000 for the project. Jordan worked with me, making substitutions and changes in design. We also agreed to use some of my existing plants in order to stay within my budget. I knew that I wanted two focal points in my final design and Jordan was able to locate both 30 gallon size plants from one of his nearby nurseries. He has a keen eye for placement and an artistic approach that gave me an incredibly beautiful front yard in one day! His 5 man crew was professional and efficient.
