I came in today to try this spot since I was craving some Mexican breakfast but to be honest I should have went to IHOP instead lol. The cafe de la olla was super good and the aguas de savor but my niece's chicken and waffles were not it the chicken super salty she had to add more syrup to try and eat it and my husband green chilaquiles were 3/10 super soggy he said, trust me he loves to eat good good he never leaves anything in his plate but this time he ate just a lil bit and left it, even my niece's she took it home to give it away to our dog and my plate were the mole chilaquiles, oh man nothing what I was imagining myself I was going to be eating !!! The mole no flavor at all, it was like they just blended the chile guajillo and added just some salt, I'm currently pregnant and this made me want to throw up ! My craving was not satisfied..... the service was 10/10, after all we are good tippers and tipped the place 18% of the total which was 20 bucks which I felt like it was unfair because we didn't liked our food and we threw it away but you still have to tip ! food came out good timing after all! Love this great little spot - it's perfect for brunch with a group or if you're on a date! We went early on a Sunday morning and were immediately in love! The vibes are amazing, awesome murals on the walls, bright colors all around, and great music! We were able to sit down right away but by the time we left it was starting to fill up so just check before you go if you're in a hurry. The food was perfection! We decided to get one sweet and one savory meal and share them so we could try it all - the churro pancakes were so so so good! Fluffy and sweet and HUGE! The chilaquiles were also really good, the chips were perfect (I hate it when they're not done right) , they had a yummy red sauce that soaked the chips just right! The were topped with a shaving of a habanero pepper which was a really great add! And lastly, I have to mention the horchata, I'm really picky about my horchata and it's probably my most favorite bevy, so if it's wrong I get bent out of shape real quick lol. They make their horchata in house and it tastes SO GOOD! It was light, sweet, refreshing, and had the perfect amount of cinnamon! Definitely a great find, we'll be back! read more

I really wished I read all the reviews before going.. think mimosas restaurant but on a budget. Located in Modesto in a questionable area at the end of the strip mall is where you will locate this establishment. We went around 1ish and it was pretty empty they don't sell hard liquor only beer and champagne. The waitress we had was super nice and kept checking on us, you can tell they are going by a certain look for the waitress.. slender, dark hair sexy. Now on to the food.. I couldn't get why people would say the food was warm or cold. What we ordered: waffles & chicken tenders, bbq burger& onion rings, French toast with a scoop of ice cream. No fountain sodas only canned, ice tea was sent back as it didn't taste right. Disclaimer: this is my opinion I didn't witness this, see it, but just an assumption, everything seemed liked it was cooked n an air fryer or toaster, there was certain items not available until after 2pm. The food was not hot at all, I can tell you there was no frying going on in the back, it's just really weird. The place has potential but it for sure some upgrades. And can we get some menus! They have the scan QR code great! But it takes you to Dropbox, like seriously.. than it doesn't even say menu, it says something like "am", "drinks" they waitress even said this is confusing let me help you. Oh! Locale is deceivingly humble-looking on the outside, yet full of life inside. In short, 10/10, would recommend. A tourist's review: On our way to Sacramento, we stopped by at this place to grab a quick breakfast. The menu offered delicious "antojitos" for me and yet reliable options for my typical, picky-eater 8-yr old. Frankly, I wasn't expecting much than an ordinary Mexican dish (being raised in Mexico and a San Diego transplant myself). Needless to say, I wolfed down the Poblano omelette, enjoying every bite. Pro-tip: a Cafe de Olla to go! I'm just happy that I didn't have to sacrifice having a mediocre meal just so my kiddo could enjoy a chocolate pancake. Cherry on the top: staff is so professional and friendly. Side note: Lately, I've been seeing the plastic "adobe-clay" looking dishes everywhere (like Target), which is such a rip-off of the culture. But, seeing the serving plates here are made of actual clay is a cool homage and interesting contrast to the modern vibes and artistic mural. Hmmm. This place is.. interesting. I went here on Mexican Independence Day for a friends birthday. Upon arrival, the location is hella small, but the decor is cute. However, they have a patio section. I don't get why they can't put tables outside? Especially if it's a busy day/weekend? Anyways, we got seated. I noticed that majority of the waitresses have a BBL. I'm guessing they're trying to do a hooters but using culo instead? I guess lol We all ordered. I got the chilaquiles bandera. It came with carne asada, choice of eggs, potatoes and three different type of chilaquiles (rojo, verde and some kind of white sauce) The rojo were my fav of the three. It had a spicier taste than the two but the other two... They're could add more verde sauce to the tortilla and the white, idk it tasted a little bland. I felt like it was missing something. The carne asada was a little tough but nothing too bad. My eggs, I asked for fried (estrellados) but the yolk was hard. For drink, I got a horchata. It had a little too much la lechera but it wasn't too bad. Big portion size though The mariachi was cool. Although, when they weren't playing, the restaurant's music is hella loud. Mimosa flight presentation was cute, but not all of the flavors were the best. I only genuinely liked half the flavors I got, which I picked ones I knew I should have enjoyed. The Chilaquiles were pretty good, the green salsa they have made it way better. The potatoes seemed like they were the premade frozen ones that Taco Bell sells, which I don't mind because I love Taco Bell potatoes. But just something to note in case that's not your style of papa. Our service was moderate, she didn't come off as super welcoming but they just went through the basic steps of being a server. I will say the decor and art on the wall is what makes the establishment pretty. It's unique, but it'd be way cuter with their outdoor actually set up, it's seems like a missed opportunity. But honestly the absolute most annoying thing about this place is how they have the menu. It's on a QR code, don't care about using a QR code buuut why do we have to download Drop Box in order to view the menu? There are just so many inconsistent services. They don't check on you often if you need anything else. I recently visited Ah Huevo and have to say, the food itself was very good -- definitely worth trying if you're a fan of breakfast spots. However, the service was extremely disappointing. The servers didn't greet us when we arrived and throughout the visit, they carried a bad attitude, not just toward my table but toward several others as well. I overheard one server telling a customer who didn't like their pancakes, "If you don't like that, you're not gonna like anything else," -- which is completely unprofessional. It also felt like the staff prioritized their attention toward people they assumed had more money, without realizing you can't judge a book by its cover. Thankfully, I'm blessed and don't need validation from a server -- but it's still disappointing to see that kind of behavior in a place that could be so much better if the service matched the quality of the food. Would I go back? Maybe for the food, but definitely not for the atmosphere. Hopefully, management addresses this, because customers deserve better. read more

I had cafe de olla and omg it was so flavorful i couldn't stop drinking it. service was awesome. all the employees were cheerful and very attentive. loved the ambiance! felt comfy and colorful. i can't wait to go back again and again!! you gotta try it! p.s. very economical . We arrived around 1:30 for lunch and when seated we were given breakfast menus. When the waitress finally came to take our drink order she questioned our orders lol then sighed and rolled her eyes. We asked for water because it was 88 degrees outside but 110 inside the restaurant. Our waitress Mia brought tap water with no ice. Then we asked if we could turn on the cooler that was in the corner not on and the response was oh no we can't. We asked why our service was taking so long and Mia's response was that this shift would clock out 2 pm we're waiting for the afternoon staff but it was now 2:10 lol. The afternoon staff arrived and our new waitress finally went to make our drink order and as the afternoon staff was clocking out and leaving Ms. Mia glared at me in the eye until she walked out the door. The morning crew made us feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome. Thank you to the staff who took over and made the rest our visit enjoyable. I hope management addresses the actions of Mia and maybe place her in the back of the restaurant where she'll have no interaction with customers because in my opinion and by reading the past reviews on this establishment of others concerns the staff you have working for you are making your place a questionable place to spend their money. read more

Even though, you split the tab between 2 parties of four and each party gets charged 18% percent more on the tab. When I called to ask why both parties were charged the 18% the manager was rude. Had to ask a few times for our refreshers to begin with after server said they would get it for us right away. We waited approximately 2 hours for our food. Meanwhile no refills on refreshers. All servers were behind the counter not tending to customers. The food was really delicious. Mimosas really good. Over all just the service sucks and wouldn't go back.
