Came here after years and the food is just how I remembered it to be, delicious! Tried the agave chicken enchiladas and the cook on them was amazing. The toppings and sauce were fresh. We also got the Mexican pizza (didn't get a picture) which was also really good, the grilled jalapeños and onions were the perfect addition to the pizza and the tortilla itself was soft but not soggy with all the toppings. Dessert options were a little sad, they don't have much, but the chocoflan did not disappoint. It was very decadent without tasting overly sweet. Now for service. We had reservations at 5:30pm on a Saturday so wasn't too busy yet. Got seated fast. Our server was a gem, don't remember his name, but he went above and beyond with accommodating dietary restrictions. Service was a bit slow on drinks but our server apologized for that. I didn't mind, I rather my food comes out first anyway. All in all, great experience, great food. Will be back to try more! read more

Stopped here for a quick lunch, we got sat inside pretty quickly. Our waitress was not very nice, she had an attitude right away. The water is really horrible I couldn't even drink it. My cocktail was good. The menudo was not good, tasted like they didn't clean the meat well or something, it was just off. I asked for lime for my menudo and was charged $2 for lime. A spot in Hughson area that is a lot of locals secret spots. Had outdoor seating for my party so I couldn't tell about inside ambience, but I'd say perfect spot to come to in evening time before sun down; seating could feel more organized. This spot has a really good happy hour menu, my drink was about $7+ and I have to say it's a good deal!! I had the quesadilla while my homegirl had the quesabirria, both phenomenal and well worth it. Portions are huge, enough to share between folks and I still had leftovers. Chips and salsa were free for us so a huge plus! Waitress came back to get our food order and said "drinks are on the way" about 10 minutes later we got our drinks. 2 minutes after that our food arrived. Chef should be in the bar as fast as they were in the kitchen . Waitress should learn some basic skills. Take the order from women 1st then the gentleman. Check in on your table from time to time. The young man that was refilling chips and salsa was more attentive to the tables than she was. Had a real hard time tipping 18%. but I know we aren't just tipping her. We have been coming here for years, we have always have the same crap service. Will continue to come back based on the food. Just beware, service is not great nor efficient. Love this place! I don't come often because I live in Merced but when I do, food and drinks are always on point. Went this morning for brunch with my boyfriend. Rating for all the food we had is 5/5 stars. Churro French Toast was delicious. Chicken & Waffles were so good. It came with both regular and spicy syrup. The spicy syrup paired well with the fried chicken and waffles. Chilaquiles was made with the red sauce and scrambled eggs. The mimosa flight was okay but presentation was cute. Definitely recommend other cocktail drinks on the menu if you're dining in for lunch or dinner. Service was really good. Got our food pretty quick and waiter checked on us a couple times. We tried to go here yesterday. We were with my Mom and Dad. My Mom is in a wheelchair. We could not get in. We parked in the handicap spot and we opened the door to come in. They have a Christmas tree blocking the way for a wheel chair and they had someone seated with a high chair right in the way so between the tree and the high chair we could not get in. We had heard a lot of wonderful things about Agave Azul from friends and coworkers. What do you do when you hear about a great restaurant? You try it out naturally! The restaurant is located in a strip mall, but don't let that deter you! There is always a friendly host to greet you and take you to your table. When the weather is nice, there is plenty of outdoor seating too. The inside of The restaurant is not too big, but there is a nice bar area that is separate from the main dining room. The chips and salsa are so good! You are given not one but 3 salsas to try. There is one that is a little on the spicier side so be careful if you are not a fan of heat. They also have the most amazing Brussels sprouts which are seriously some of the best I've ever had. I love the fajitas and my husband loves the carnitas! Both are fabulous. Agave Azul is one of those restaurants that once you've tried it, you can't believe it took you so long to try it and you don't want to go anywhere else anymore. My bf and I have been here twice so far... his co-worker recommended this restaurant and we are so glad she did! Every time both of us are in the area we definitely try to stop by! Our food, drinks and service has been impeccable (shout out to David), however, we even noticed the cohesiveness between the workers and everyone was very attentive, I mean probably thee best service we've had. There was some confusion with the tortillas and some plates that were soups took forever to arrive as if they were cooking them to order. Now let me tell you, the plates were huge! And sooo good. From the beginning the hostess took 6 minutes to come out and put us on the waiting list. The waitress that took our order was not attentive and we had to ask another waitress to give us our tab.
