This place was so interesting! It was self-seating/self-serve, but we were so confused by where to order and where to grab menus, etc. We switched seats from the rooftop to outside then to inside because the chairs and tables were kinda wonky. The vibe was super chill and it's a cute aesthetic, but did not really feel like a restaurant at all. More of a hang out spot. Our order: 1. Fried Chicken Sammie with Spicy Fries I liked the sandwich nothing super special about it but it was still pretty yummy. And I liked the seasoned fries with ranch Rating: 7/10 2. Rigatoni + Cheese I didn't try this one but I think my friends liked it! 3. AhbA Burger Friends said smash burger was okay. They mentioned it didn't have much substance since it was just meat, cheese, and bread. They were kinda disappointed. They ordered a Caesar salad too (not pictured) and said it was just okay 4. Abbie Cocktail I liked this one! It was pretty sweet and you can't taste the alc, but it was still strong! Rating: 9/10 5. Wings and Burnt Broccolini Apps were just okay The wings reminded me of Korean fried wings. The broccolini side was good but I don't remember it much. Rating: 6.5/10 Wings and 6/10 Broccolini Overall, I might not really come back. Maybe for the vibes, but food and service were just okay.

Discovered this place through a tiktok post! The set up is interesting? You order at the counter, get a number, and find yourself a seat. No table service. Might work great for a group that may be arriving at slightly different times? Anyway, we ordered drinks and an appetizer to share as we waited for a dinner reservation next door. Whipped Feta served with sourdough was delicious! The spread was topped with fresh mint and other herbs, pine nuts, and jammy tomatoes. It was creamy, salty, nutty, herbaceous, all at once--complimented beautifully by the sweet roasted cherry tomatoes! The three of us each ordered the Abbie cocktail, refreshing and delicious.

Tried Ahba for the first time recently and came for brunch. I love the vibes inside and on the patio, great ambiance for sure. The food came out fast and it was fire! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because parking is horrendous, and it is a bit more pricy for the portion sizes you get. I would recommend this place if you have ample time because parking will add extra 20+minutes to find, and if you want a vibey place to eat and walk around after.

This was my third time here, but the first time trying the food. On my previous visits I only stopped in for drinks while waiting for a table at Folks. We were starving, so we ordered a pizza from Folks to share, (long wait) so decided on ordering a burger and fries here. The burger was actually really good, and the fries were crispy and delicious. Service was friendly, and I loved that they're dog friendly. The space is also much bigger than it looks from the outside, with a really cute ambiance. The only thing that threw me off was having to order before being seated. It gave more of a casual cafeteria or fast casual feel than a full service restaurant. I know that's becoming more common, but personally I enjoy the traditional restaurant experience of sitting down, looking over the menu, and ordering with my server. Overall, the food was solid and the atmosphere was enjoyable, but the ordering process isn't really my preference. For that reason alone, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

I think I prefer the one in Laguna because the service is better. I think the food is actually better as well. This one actually seems like the food was just kind of thrown together in prep. Service was nonexistent. Service wasnt very attentive, so I'm pretty sure that experience had a lot to do with how my food tasted. It just didn't feel right. Don't get me wrong the place looks cool but everyone feels distant. I would rather go to the one in laguna for sure. That one is amazing and everyone is super friendly.

Came here on Saturday for a quick bite with family. Super cute spot at the Camp plaza. The food was really tasty. You order first and find a seat so it's pretty quick service. I saw a lot of different parties, some couples, a big group of friends and a few families. They really accommodate to all.

Last time my boyfriend brought home leftovers and it tasted better than my current visit and this review. I thought the brocolini was overcooked and soggy instead of crispy. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was good. I like the dill sauce to accompany the fries. The lamb added to pasta was decent. I think the lamb was a little gamey. The restaurant is at the CAMP and the parking still sucks for this plaza. In addition, you order your meal at the hostess stand and grab an open table to dine at.

This was an overall confusing and disappointing experience. The concept itself is different than other restaurants where you order upfront with the hostess and seat yourself anywhere. I am not criticizing the concept itself because I've been to places that have done this casual dining concept before but the hostess seemed dismissive and inattentive to the fact we have never been here. She told us to sit ourselves which we did in the back patio. We then realized there were no waiters to serve us menus so we then walked all the way back to retrieve them. Once we decided what we wanted to eat, we once again walked all the way back to place our orders. It took a while to actually get settled. The back patio seating was awful because the tables were wobbly and the chairs were at all different heights. It felt like I was at a backyard cookout at someone's house. We switched to indoor seating shortly after. The food itself was good but not memorable. I've had better smash burgers, broccolini, fries, wings, and Caesar salads at other places. The best thing was probably the rigatoni which I'd rate a 8/10 while the others were probably a 6/10. There is an upstairs bar area which was very cute. However, when we tried placing our drinks orders to the bartender downstairs he said one of the drinks was only able to be ordered upstairs. When we proceeded to go upstairs, the bartender then said we couldn't bring the drink downstairs. As you can see, there was a lot of unnecessary walking throughout our experience. The service was nonexistent per its concept. But even with the little interactions we had with the staff, it seemed like they were very indifferent to the customers and very little guidance on where to go and what to do. If they improved on their service and were more service oriented I'd consider returning for the cute aesthetic.

food: no notes! the ahba burger is so good! the meat is so tender and juicy. the garlic fries r bomb! good portions too service: interesting concept. you order up front n they bring it to ur table ambiance: casual

I've come multiple times because a friend wanted to try it out. It's a restaurant in the Lab. I ordered the burger with the upgraded truffle fries. It wasn't bad but just wasn't that great either. Personally, it's one of those burgers I try and just forget about. I'm not sure what the rave is behind these burgers but there are other great burger spots in OC. I've also tried their pasta and broccoli. I'm not a fan either, it needs more seasoning. Service is okay, not good or bad. The restaurant itself is cute. When I sat outside, it felt like I'm in someone's backyard - lots of plants and fairy lights. Overall, I think it's a cute place to hangout and maybe grab a drink upstairs but I wouldn't come back unless someone else wanted to.

I would always see a line out of this place, and finally decided to try it out! turns out there's a line because you had to order first at the front and seat yourself lol we sat outside because we noticed they were playing spirited away on the projector- service was good and the food came out pretty fast once you ordered what we ordered - - whipped feta - wings - our tables favorite! - steak frites - wouldn't recommend the steak but i loved the fries! - sweet papas we definitely want to come back to try out their coffee and breakfast menu!

What a cool place! Located at The Camp, parking can be brutal sometimes but it is what it is. My husband and I heard great things about Ahba so we decided to try the fan favorite burger and it did not disappoint! It's your classic American cheese burger, the waygu beef and quality ingredients makes it even more delicious. It also comes with fries, not bad for $18. Great service, friendly people and good vibes. I heard they have a rooftop bar too, I'll have to try next time for happy hour!

Smash burger with regularly seasoned fries
    Debbie M.

AhbA is located inside The Camp, which made it a bit tricky to find. Ordering was also a little awkward--you place your order at the host/hostess desk, which felt unusual--so we opted instead for full service at the bar. The ambiance is definitely a highlight. On a sunny SoCal day, I can imagine the vibe being fantastic, especially with the mix of indoor seating, bar space, and a protected outdoor patio. My table guest and I split the smash burger with regular fries. The food came out quickly and was tasty enough, but for the price (about $20 all in), my guest commented she'd rather grab In-N-Out or The Habit. Will I come back? Chances are doubtful--but I can see how this spot could really shine on the right day, with the right expectations.

We've been here a few times before and always thought it was decent. So, we made the last minute reservation online and got here 15 minutes early. When we arrived, there was a short line, but per the reservation instructions, one of my friends went in to check in while we waited outside. Friend: Hi, I'm checking in for a reservation. Bartender: What time is your reservation. Friend: 10 Bartender: What time is it now? Friend: 9:45 Bartender: Then I'll see you at 10pm. Friend came back annoyed and explained what happened. The bartender didn't say it in a joking way, but with attitude and annoyance. Most staff would respond "Thank you for checking in, we will let you know when your table is available." We weren't going to let this ruin our night, so we waited and were seated by the hostess. The bar itself is dimly lit and very tight. The music was loud enough that we had to almost yell to hear each other. The waiter came by soon after and was extremely friendly. We said we'd been here a few times before, but it's been a while. He refreshes our memory by saying they specialize making variations of classics. They want customers to focus on the flavors and that's why the menu doesn't list the spirit in their drinks. Also, they only make drinks on the menu because their drinks are prebatched/premade. We ask for recommendations which he was happy to give. We each order a drink and a snack for the table. As we're talking (very loudly so we can hear each other), we lose track of time before we realize that it's been 20 minutes and we haven't gotten our drinks yet. For something that's prebatched, it shouldn't take long. Before we can flag down the waiter, he comes by and apologizes that they lost our order and had to put it back in. We appreciate the honesty and say it's no problem. 5 minutes later, our drinks and food arrives. He again apologizes for the wait and has a second order of our food that he's including for free. Honestly we were ok with just the apology, but extra food too? Hell yea. Sounds like it was turning around. The drinks were okay. Not amazing, but definitely above average 3.8 / 5. The snack, bread and butter, were surprisingly good. 4.5 / 5 When we asked for the check, the waiter brought the credit card reader and told us we can swipe our card any time and left it on our table. We look at the bill and realize the waiter not only gave us the 2nd snack for free, but comp'd 2 of the drinks also. We all agree this waiter is GREAT. So why the 2 stars? Well first let me say, I would leave it at 1 star, but the waiter definitely earned them another. We wanted to pay cash, so we waited for him to come back. Instead, the original rude bartender comes by and realizes we haven't paid yet. We ask if we can pay with cash. He explains that they don't accept cash. Friend: Are you sure? *Proceeds to try to insert cash into the chip reader slot* Bartender: You're pretty stupid, aren't you? Friend: Maybe if I swipe it instead *Doubles down and proceeds to swipe the cash through the magnetic strip reader* Bartender: Wow, you really are stupid. My friend is a 100% a goofball and having fun with the bartender. It was OBVIOUS that he was joking. Was it funny? A little. Was it stupid? 100%. But for the bartender or ANY customer service staff to call a paying customer "stupid", that's simply unacceptable. We're all pretty pissed at this point and simply swipe the card and the bartender leaves. As I said earlier, we've come here a few times. We don't live especially close, but when we're in the area, we would always consider coming here. Now, there's no chance. For any business, even if your drinks and food are great, customer service can easily DESTROY your experience and that's exactly what the bartender did. Note to the male bartender with no hair: You really shouldn't be interacting with customers. You were rude from the start and have no sense of humor. Could you be having a bad day? Sure, but that's not an excuse to be rude to customers. I know management saw my original post because it was removed, probably because I referred to the bartender by his hairstyle (or lack thereof) multiple times. If they rather remove my post than deal with their bartender, that's another sign to avoid this place.
