As others have already said, AhbA is very popular on social media and that's also how I was influenced to try it. First off, parking is limited to what you can find on the street. The restaurant itself is very cute and quaint, with seating both inside and outside. You order at a window and pick up your drink, if you get one, at a different window. The staff was so sweet by the way! Timing worked out perfectly as I came by during happy hour. And their happy hour food and drink selection is pretty good! I ordered their infamous burger (just the single patty though) along with the te culpo cocktail to wash it down. The burger was really yummy I can't lie. It is kinda small given its price, but I thought it was still good to try. The te culpo cocktail was super refreshing and, surprisingly, a bit on the stronger side. I like this spot, so I'll be back for sure. I'd probably get the full burger next time.

It was always in the back of my mind to visit this place whenever I stop by Laguna, since I've seen it all over social media. The aesthetics and vibes were very cute and photogenic, and I see why this place has gone viral. Street parking was a bit rough, but it was probably the spring break crowd. However. Upon the recommendation of a coworker who raved about everything on the menu, I grabbed the classic burger, upgraded to a side caesar salad, and shared a plate of fries. Like, let me play it safe and try the basics on the menu first, because in my head, I was already imagining bringing friends here in the future. Dare I say that everything I ordered was just bland and unseasoned. Burger was decidedly average, nothing special. It looked like, and tasted like a high school cafeteria burger, if I'm going to be so honest. Salad looked good (for the camera), and fries were fine, I guess. I felt so underwhelmed by the food (especially at the price point) since it was such a stark difference from the actual decor and hype I saw online. Although, when I came back to the counter to order a Mexican coke, I did notice they sell sauces on the side for like 75 cents. But, just the overall taste in everything I ordered was underwhelmingly flavorless. I feel like the food should stand on its own without adding sauces. Another thing, which I also see in other reviews: auto tip starts at 20% for a walk-up counter. It def was a bit awkward to manually change the tip amount while the cashier was staring down at me. Lastly, this restaurant has vague/unclear Mediterranean roots, if you know what I mean. The cashier himself seemed hesitant to explain when I asked what kind of Mediterranean food this restaurant serves. On Yelp, the restaurant is listed as "New American" cuisine, but I looked at news articles later on about the chef's inspirations/ recipes, which are served with an "Israeli flare". You can decide yourself what to do with that information.

This has got to be my favorite place to get a cheeseburger. It is perfectly done, with delicious cheese, and a little spice. Served with a side of crispy fries? Every pregnant girl's dream!! I enjoyed the casual setting of this restaurant and think it's adorable how it's set up along PCH with an ordering window, and a bar pickup window. Great spot to grab a bite before or after the beach

A great new addition to Laguna Beach! Especially because I feel like there are few establishments I look to in the area. I absolutely LOVED the burger -- I can confidently say it was one of the best smash burgers I have ever had, especially as the chilis were such a nice touch. We also got the mac and cheese which was comforting. The weakest dish of the night was the salmon... the fish was cooked very well and the sauce alone tasted nice, but I just don't think this is my favorite way to eat salmon. I'd definitely love to go back for more burgers but also to try the tri-tip sandwich. I also tried their mezcal and passionfruit cocktail, which was solid. I loved how casual the restaurant was, but the soft glow really romanticized the place. This is definitely a place to consider if you're around Laguna!

I know this is going to be a hot take, but I'm not sure what the hype is about surrounding AhbA. After seeing endless videos on social media about this spot, I figured I'd give it a try. It's tucked a little way off the main area of Laguna but still easily accessible. The inside offers a good amount of seating for the size and the outdoor seating looks a bit close together but nothing that would make or break the experience. Ordering at the window was easy and I was able to find a spot inside. I'd apparently just missed the huge lunch rush which would make sense for a Saturday afternoon. The guy who took my order was super sweet and helpful. My food came out pretty quickly but when they set the plate down, I was a bit disappointed. The burger looked to be pretty standard, like a diner burger. While looks can be deceiving, the burger did have some good flavor, thanks to the pepper spread they put on there. But if I'm honest, the spread is what made the burger good. The Cajun fries were the star of the show, offering a nice kick to complement the burger. I'm glad I gave this place a try and it was a decent meal; however, I'm not sure it's worth the relatively steep price or the hype it's getting. That's the beauty of food though, it's all based on what you like and maybe this burger does it for other people.

First time coming here ! It's a hidden gem. You can tell locals come here a lot. One thing I will say the parking is hard to find. You will have to park on the street. When you arrive here, I recommend scanning the QR code to see the menu. You order your food first and then find your seating. I had to try their famous Ahba burger and let me tell you it was so delicious. So beefy and filling! Had their Vanilla Latte and it was made just right!! Cute little beachy vibe spot.

I had the privilege of being waited on by Matt P: the exceptionally congenial & professional manager of the very quaint, the very sexy Ahba Laguna. Matt's promptness, attention to detail, & willingness to provide a seamless experience really made a remarkable first impression on my already stunned face. I had a unique order that is not typically on the Ahba menu. I wanted a glass of OJ, & Ahba was not exactly serving breakfast drinks at 7p when I placed the order. However, Matt made it happen. I do not know how or where Ahba gets their OJ from. I do know the juice tastes like the oranges were picked from a tree of life, squeezed by the tender hands of archangels, & dripped into elegant plastic bottles. The bottle of OJ Matt produced from the back of Ahba might well have been the sweetest, most nourishing, taste slaking juice I have had in years. Two friends dining with me asked for a taste due to my bemusement with it. Their reactions were similar: the OJ elicited awe. I complemented my OJ with a smashburger and fries. A demonstrably savory burger. I had to set my gullet to inhale after the first bite because the smashburger is addicting. Once I had made the smashburger disappear, I ate the fries. Slowly at first, & then more quickly as my appetite for them grew more ravenous. I left Ahba quite sated. Yes the drinks and entrees are all refreshing & enriching. I must recommend begging Matt or whoever at Agba will listen for a bottle of their fresh OJ. To not try the juice at this eatery suggests a wasted life. Orange you glad I passed on this wisdom.

I have driven by here so many times on my way to Laguna and my friend said it was great so I ordered it from Uber eats tonight. I'm definitely hard to please and high maintenance. They have a lot of boxes for me to check off of stuff I don't like cheese I'll let you know how it is! It looks really healthy so that's a good start! The cauliflower was super spicy but the yogurt sauce diluted it luckily. Average cucumber salad but I like the crispy salmon on top! That was the highlight of my delivered meal. The side of chicken breast was OK. The yams were bland and need some tahini I'm excited to dine in next time! I'm sure it will be amazing!

Went for brunch on a Sunday. Food is good and we got plenty of different items. Missing pics from some food items. Favorites were the whipped feta and the french toast. We also got the american breakfast and the breakfast burrito which were pretty solid as well. Service is generally OK, but vibes are amazing. Parking can sometimes be tough but overall manageable. Will be back soon to try some other items! Always like to go for a stroll on the opposite side for unlimited ocean views after brunch and recommend you do the same!

I had been to the AhbA in Costa Mesa and was curious to try the Laguna Beach location. It's set in a house on PCH, where you order from a window and then take your number to a table, either inside or outside. I ordered the avocado toast off the brunch menu. This was the most disappointing avocado toast I've ever eaten. I don't remember what the menu description was, but I swear it sounded better than what I received - thin avocado slices on a overly toasted piece of bread, with some feta cheese crumbles, drizzle of olive oil and sea salt. I felt pretty stupid for ordering it. My husband's shakshuka was fine. It lacked the spicy heat that one normally expects from the fiery tomato sauce. AhbA is super popular, so maybe I ordered wrong. I should have thrown caution to the winds and ordered the smash burger - arteries be damned.

The service was friendly in the food area. I came around 5:30pm on Sunday night and went to the bar to get a drink but was told they were closing even though the restaurant was completely full. I was advised to go to the speakeasy next door where it was busy and took a long time to order a drink. A wonderful post hike spot for brunch. It's so cozy and full of character and they have amazing food and coffee. They keep the menu simple and do it well. Quick moving line to order and quick service without feeling rushed. Be try friendly service. French toast was so moist and not overly sweet - it's great. Their espresso has great flavor and looks beautiful.

I had a breakfast burrito yesterday and got sick. This restaurant is the most inconsistent place I go to by far. Every time there is something wrong. Yesterday I requested an extra ahba sauce and the kids working at the front confirmed it was in the bag, but I got back home and it was not there of course. People do not care about their jobs at this place. It sucks because it's a cool spot and has a lot of potential, but the service is absolutely terrible. read more

Good ambiance, the food is overpriced for what you get through for sure- especially for an order at the front place. Got their ceased salad a month or two ago- super disappointing. Added salmon to it (man was that expensive) the salmon was really good! But the salad itself was a huge let down- and for a basic Caesar salad that's saying something. My husband got the burger and said it's good, more of a diner style burger w/ a thin patty. Got the raved about whipped feta, it was enjoyable but nothing to write home about, 2-3 bites was enough for me. I don't really think it's worth what you pay for it tbh. Okay I got the roasted chicken last time and that was great!! Super flavorful, the potatoes were nice and crispy on the bottom as well. (Still gotta say a little overpriced) but that was super good, I would get it again for sure. Definitely does not feed 2 lol I ate everything and felt content, it's not a huge portion size. read more

My favorite restaurant in OC! The burger and steak frites are phenomenal, the best I've had. Restaurant feels like it's inside a home with a speakeasy bar next door. Unmatched vibes and aesthetic. Unfortunately, they almost always bring out the food at VERY different times. So someone's meal gets cold or you're left sitting there watching everyone else eat. They also seem to always be out of items on the menu. When their menu is already incredibly limited. My most recent visit, my entire group of 4 finished their meals and they completely forgot about my burger. Costa Mesa location seems to struggle with the same problems. read more

Really delicious food at this reasonably priced quick service style restaurant. Was a little bit confused at first by the process of ordering at the register and then finding a seat, but the friends I was with did a great job of explaining what to do. The whipped feta was a stand out for me. The halibut was also amazingly delicious and light. Next time I will definitely be trying the burger and fries which my friends got an absolutely loved. read more

This restaurant was at a cute little location in Laguna beach with indoor and outdoor seating. It's just a short walk away from a beach entrance which was nice and peaceful. We got appetizers for the table to share. We tried the mac n cheese which was average, it wasn't that special and felt like the noodles could've been cooked a little longer. The whipped feta was pretty good, I liked the addition of the pine nuts and tomatoes. I got a salmon dish which came with a lot of parsley and had the consistency of a shakshuka on the bottom, but it also wasn't anything special. The salmon itself was good with a crispy skin, but the rest of the dish was okay. I was most excited to try the cauliflower since it looked beautiful, but was a bit disappointed. The cauliflower could've been cooked longer to be more tender and even though it had a lot of color, it still felt like it lacked flavor. Overall, I felt like a lot of the dishes didn't feel cohesive since the flavor of the sauces wasn't really cooked into the protein and vegetables. We also couldn't order cocktails at the table, we had to go next door to buy our drinks and bring them back which I didn't love. I ended up getting a beer instead out of convenience. read more

went for drinks midweek and the environment was very nice and relaxing. it did get very crowded at one point towards the end. I loved the lights and the aesthetics of this place and Helen's Cocktails which is giving "speakeasy" vibes connected right next door. the bartender was excellent in making the signature cocktails and helping my friend decide which type of alcohol she wanted to try. we mainly ate the appetizers and split the main course. compliments to the chef the flavor was amazing. the broccolini was delicious, also ordered the hummus very underrated and recommend everyone to try and the whipped feta which came with very delicious brea. for the main we ate the steak with a side of fries. I was absolutely stuffed after. I also loved that they provided blankets when it was chilly. cant wait to visit in summer but maybe midweek, because I do enjoy the scene when it's less crowded. read more

We came in on a Thursday during wine night and great selections of wines to choose from. The steak frites was amazing. The steak was cooked medium rare topped with herb garlic butter and that added so much texture to it. The fries were crunchy and we took the steak off the fries so it can stay that way. The burnt broccolini was our favorite, the sweet and spicy taste gave it so much character. Tip: we cut the tops off and just ate that because it retained much more flavor than the stems. The service and staff were kind and efficient. The place itself get packed immediately after opening so I'd recommend coming when it opens. The inside is nice! Lots of plants, really great beach city restaurant. Will be coming back with friends. read more

The food was Amazing!! 5 stars for the grub for sure. The place was comfortable, clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere! As a personal preference, I don't like mobile menus. Personally I don't want to pull out the phone and navigate to a menu. At the very least have a menu board or one menu at the counter. The only reason I rated 4 stars, (almost 3) is that I despise it when the food arrives at the table at different times. Half my table was done with half their food before the rest of plates came. It messes up the experience. Half the table is watching the other half eat from beginning to end. That's the only thing that bothers me. The good definitely outweighs the bad. I will be back!! And definitely recommend. read more

They don't serve anything other than their brunch menu before 2pm, yes this includes their lunch menu. I waited over 50 minutes for them to prepare a Cesar salad, it was at this point I asked for the status of it and one of the workers was kind enough to prepare one right then. After brining out the salad the waitress did not acknowledge their mistake. Keep in mine, I had a burger and French toast already delivered to the table about 20-30 minutes before the salad. read more

Have been wanting to try this spot for so long. Decided to visit on my birthday. The girl taking orders at the counter, long blonde hair with a seashell necklace on and big hoop earrings, has such an attitude. It being our first time we were unsure about the menu items when ordering and she made sure to make us feel stupid about it. When it came to pay we left absolutely zero tip. A bunch of the tables were dirty, she walks through the dining area area delivering food to which customers say thank you and she keeps on walking with no expression or desire to be there. The food was decent but the rude customer service makes the overall experience taste bad. We will not be going back. read more

This is a super cool, local spot to check out! You start by ordering at the window and then seat yourself. We ended up sitting at their speakeasy called Helen's which is directly next door to Abha, and they'll even bring your food over to you. The cheeseburger tasted great, it was just a tad bit small. As for drinks, it was a limited menu, but the drinks we did get were good. Be sure to check out the outside patio in the back of Helen's! read more

Food is great but at 9:01 pm they started stacking chairs to close the place down. They close at 9:00 pm, nothing like saying we don't give an F about you. I wouldn't even expect this from a fast food place, but when you spend $100 I don't even know what to say! I'm a local and huge fan but won't be back. I'm sad read more

This is such a gem! This place is adorable, I felt like I was sitting in my backyard. You can sit in the front, back, or inside. My friend and I came for brunch around 11:30, I had the mango iced tea (I wish they had refills, or at least refills for $2 or $2 not the $4 for another cup) My friend had an iced coffee Both drinks were tasty. My friend had the breakfast burrito and was obsessed with it! I ordered the burger without the bun (protein wrapped) so it would be gluten free! The burger was amazing, 2 patties with ooey gooey melted cheese, tomatoes, pickles, and I added avocado. The sauce that comes with the fries to dip is sooo tasty as well. I loved the ambiance being here, the music playing in the background was so relaxing, girls were sipping champagne, people were there with dogs and everyone was just enjoying their day. Highly recommend coming for brunch or lunch, such a cute small spot! The workers are very nice and friendly. Great for friends, kids, families, dates etc! read more

AhbA is a must try! You order at the white window once you walk up and then can take a seat wherever you'd like. There are indoor and outdoor seating. It's a cozy ambiance. We ordered their AhbA hamburger with fries and whipped feta. For the fries, you can order them hot, classic or with garlic. We asked if they could add both hot and garlic -- and they were amazing. Every single thing we ordered was delicious and it was one of the best moscow mules I've had. Best burger I ever had but service was trash. The server that was taking my order was having a side conversation, felt like I was interrupting them by placing an order lol I got my burger to go, and the never called it out or text me that it was ready and my burger has just been sitting there for 30 minutes before I finally go and ask about it. My husband and I dined here for breakfast. We split the $16 Breakfast Burrito eggs, bacon, rajas, oaxaca, pico de gallo, signature sauce. It was a bit pricey but definitely didn't lack in flavor or size. We also enjoyed some morning beverages. I was expecting my Kombucha to be on tap but it was a can and quite expensive. Definitely need to come back! I had been eyeing this place for a bit but was worried it was just an aesthetic, happy to say it's the real deal! Everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked delicious and both the burger and breakfast burrito we had were yummy. Food comes out as it's ready and coffee and drinks are self-pick up. Everyone was super nice. Parking can be hard on summer weekends as it's street only but we had no problem at peak hour on a Sunday. We ordered the chicken sandwich which we thought was just okay, not the best we had. We ordered the Mac n cheese which was delicious. Not very cheesy and light. The highlight of dinner was the sweeeet papas which were Japanese sweet potatoes. They were so delicious! The dill chimichurri and whipped tahini just added so much flavor. We also ordered drinks. They were out of fresh squeezed OJ so did not get to try that. The cauliflower hash was delicious but could've done without the pickled radish. Smaller florets would be nice too. Overall a good dish. Avocado toast was good too but lose the picked radish from these too. Instead, put some balsamic glaze. The hash browns are amazing and so are the pork sausage. We chose regular menu. We arrived this morning on time for our reservation and asked to be seated outside as there was live music that could only be enjoyed if you were sitting outside. The same live music that they advertise, which was most of the reason why we chose to go to this venue for Father's Day brunch over many choices in the area. We were told that the outside was completely booked. We pointed out that we also had a reservation and we would like to sit outside. Mind you, sitting inside or outside was not an option to select when booking a reservation online. We were told this was not possible and had to sit inside. The music cannot be heard from inside the restaurant. We were also told that there was no regular menu and we were forced to eat the buffet. This buffet was $79 with no drinks included. No one in our party wanted the buffet. Three of our four guests would not even be able to eat enough food to justify a $79 cost. We were told there was no other option and we had to eat from the buffet at this point we wanted to leave, however it's Father's Day and we really had no other option but to sit there. On top of this, we had extremely poor service by the wait staff. Our plates were left dirty in front of us. My father-in-law had to get up from the table and put his dirty plate over on the busser station himself. To add insult injury, there was a 20% tip added to the bill that we could not remove. Why would we pay 20% when our server did absolutely nothing? They couldn't even clear dirty plates let alone them not even serving us any of our food, taking orders, bringing condiments, etc but they thought they DESERVED a $100 tip for simply showing up and saying hello once. All of those outside tables that they swore were completely booked- they set at least 50% empty the entire time we were there eating our brunch. The venue had truly gone downhill under the new ownership and we will not be back after this horrible experience.

Known previously for excellent service, it became hit or miss. But we stuck with it because the food was always amazing and the margaritas consistently spot-on. This trip was back to the original level of service we came to expect, and then missed when several of our favorite servers and bartenders left. While we experienced mostly new service faces this time, the service itself was excellent.

While I may not agree with that policy, I can respect that every business has its own rules. What was completely unacceptable was the way I was treated by the manager, Enzo. She spoke to me in an abrasive, dismissive manner and made it clear that customer service was not a priority. To make matters worse, she walked away in the middle of our conversation, saying she needed to deal with someone else, and then proceeded to complain about me to members of the company. How unprofessional can you be? This is exactly what separates great restaurants from mediocre ones. Policies are one thing, but respect, professionalism, and customer service are what guests remember. If you don't appreciate the people spending their hard-earned money in your establishment, perhaps hospitality is the wrong business for you. With so many excellent restaurants competing for customers, it's hard to understand how behavior like this is considered acceptable.

Disappointing Experience Marred by Poor Service and Communication at AhbA I recently dined at AhbA with high hopes for a joyous occasion. However, regrettably, my visit was overshadowed by a series of disappointing encounters primarily stemming from subpar service and communication issues. From the moment of arrival I encountered rude service and a lack of hospitality when discussing the reservation. It was disheartening to start the night off like that but I was still hopeful that although there may have been a miscommunication with reservations & rooms -- it'll all work out! Moreover, there appeared to be a glaring lack of training evident among several members of the head staff. Our party grew larger than expected (because we thought we'd be placed at the restaurant & could split ourselves up at the many tables offered -- not where we ended up at Helen's) and we were met with a hostile response. When faced with this conflict, they snickered their responses and handled the problem solving with a lack of maturity and patience. To further the night, miscommunication was rampant, leading to confusion regarding orders and delays in service. The frustration compounded when several food orders & a credit card was misplaced, adding an unnecessary inconvenience to the dining experience. When asked for an update on an order, I was curtly told "We already set it out" three times in a row to then be blatantly ignored although I had been waiting over 45+ minutes and still hadn't received my order. Despite these setbacks, I must acknowledge the efforts of some of the male wait staff who exhibited kindness and professionalism amidst the chaos. Their assistance was appreciated and served as a stark contrast to the overall disappointing service encountered elsewhere in the restaurant. In summary, while AhBa may possess stunning ambiance and delicious eats, the current state of service, attitudes, and communication must be addressed urgently to provide guests with a truly enjoyable dining experience. I sincerely hope that management takes proactive steps to provide hospitality training, as I believe there is potential for improvement and success with the right measures in place. I recently had a rather disappointing experience at Ahba. Unfortunately, the evening was marred by several issues that left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. Firstly, the seating arrangement is poorly managed. The restaurant allows patrons to reserve tables while still waiting in 20-minute line to order their food, which seems highly inefficient given their limited seating capacity. This led to a situation where people who had already ordered had nowhere to sit. Half of my group ended up sitting on the stoop of the adjacent building, which was uncomfortable and far from the dining experience we anticipated. Our group of six were only able to secure one table that sat two people. As our food was being brought out, we had nowhere to sit, and the small table couldn't accommodate all the dishes. This added to the frustration, as we struggled to enjoy our meal in such cramped conditions. Moreover, the service left much to be desired. I ordered an item that never arrived, despite asking three different employees about it. Each time, I was assured it would be coming shortly, but it never did. I had to ask for a refund because the dish never arrived. This level of neglect is unacceptable, especially in a restaurant that prides itself on good service. To top it off, the food was mediocre at best. The final straw was the response from the management. When I spoke to the manager about our seating predicament, she shrugged off the issue, stating there was nothing she could do about it. This lack of accountability and willingness to rectify the situation is concerning. If the manager cannot address such basic operational problems, then who can? Overall, my experience at Ahba was far from satisfactory. The combination of mismanaged seating, poor service, and indifferent management made for a regrettable dining experience. 3/5 Stars - Disappointed on a Special Day We visited Ahba to celebrate my daughter's birthday -- she had been excited to try it, and we made the drive up to Laguna Beach hoping for a memorable meal. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the anticipation. The food was just okay. The breakfast burrito came out in about 15 minutes, which was reasonable, but it didn't offer anything particularly memorable. Things really went downhill with the smash burger. After waiting a while, I approached the kitchen counter to ask about it and was met with an unexpectedly rude response from a young staff member. It turned out our order had been misplaced and given to another table. When we finally received the burger, it was underwhelming -- just a light smear of glazed onions, far from what's shown on their Instagram. It felt like an afterthought, not the well-prepared dish we were hoping for. I'm writing this review in hopes that the owner sees it and takes it as constructive feedback. The burger was probably the best burger I have ever had in my life and will come back time and time again just for the burger! So why 3 stars? The one thing this place is missing is a good cocktail. My fiance and I ordered 4 drinks between the two of us and they all were not well made. Almost undrinkable :/ A great cocktail experience would put this place well over the 5 star rating! Ahba Burger exceeded my expectations! The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The ingredients tasted fresh, and every bite was delicious.
