Really chill place to have brunch on the weekend. I opted for the avocado toast for a light snack and this was probably one of the best avocado toast I've ever had. Bread was perfect, avocado was perfect and the toppings were all amazing. Loved the fresh dill on this. Seriously would check this place out again in a heartbeat to try some other stuff on their menu. Staff were all super friendly. I'm not a drinker so opted for the mocktail not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised with the ginger beer and lime mix they got going here. Was pretty solid. Some nuances of this place. Parking requires planning there's some stret parking in the area but you may need to park further out and walk to get a spot. I came back to introduce this spot to my family. I was very mistaken in thinking that Saturday around 7pm would not be too busy; it was with every young person in town. I did want to try to do to go first but the online order wouldn't let me make burger adjustments for the kids menu (next time, I will call). Parking was okay if you searched around. The line stretched to the sidewalk and every seat was taken. There was no way I was going to wait 25 minutes to order and expect to eat there. Next time, I'll be sure to place an order online. The staff was proactive and communicated this expectation that there might not be seats. I brought up that I wanted to originally do to go but couldn't online; the staff kindly brought me out of the line to place the order. The food did still take 25 minutes to be made but the staff kept me updated and didn't forget about my order. Thankfully, I don't live too far. The burger is still one of the best (the kids one is not that great IMO) and I still think the fries are a throwaway. Sadly, you can't order just the burger. The sides, which I've never tried, were amazing! The curried cauliflower had delicious spices and tahini. The roasted Japanese sweet potatoes had a savory oily sauce. The feta toast had delicious herbs and tomatoes. The sides clearly had a Mediterranean influence and were well-nuanced in flavor. I'll be back for more but definitely to go is the way. A Laguna staple! Such a beautiful quaint restaurant. They are right off pch and look someone's house. There's indoor seating / communal table. Majority seating is outdoor. Food is overpriced and just mediocre. Had their smash burger and was underwhelmed. Upgraded the fries to the garlic Parmesan and didn't taste garlic and the parm was just sprinkled as a clump on top. It's also one of those places where you order at a window and they bring your food out to you BUT they ask for a tip first. Is that really something to tip for? Also how do I know what to tip you if I haven't even experience your service yet. Oh and the default tip percentages is 18/20/22%. So typical tourist trap. Lastly the ambiance is horrible. Music so loud you have to shout to have a conversation around your small table. With uncomfortably metal chairs that most adults can't sit comfortably on. We even asked for the music to be turned down a bit and the "server" said management didn't want to. Then they turned it up... Never going here again and I miss Eva's that use to be here. It's taken me a few years to try the food here. I've heard from so many of the locals how great this place was and today my experience did not live up to the hype. Granted, I had it delivered, but it came hot and how they prepared it. I just don't know why so many locals would rave about this place with an $18 double burger that is smaller than most fast food burgers. It kind of reminds me of the whammy burger from the movie, falling down where Michael Douglas walks in to get breakfast and they won't give it to him. The vibe here feels so cute and cozy! Lots of open air coming in and you order at the counter then sit at the table and they bring you your food. We got the brocollini and it was SO TASTY! We absolutely enjoyed it and the chili oil they had on top + the shallots really tied in together well. We also got the steak frites and the garlic butter they had on top was amazing. Amazing chill place for Sunday brunch. We arrived around 11:15am and the ordering line moved quickly. We sat outside and got seating in the corner with a cute patio couch. Let me start by saying the food was very, very good. Although, next time, we will get it to go. The staff was also very friendly. However, when they say the place is "funky," it's an understatement. To me, it just felt filthy and old. The eclectic decor looked like someone had raided beachside trash cans with its rusty, chipped and faded painted metal chairs and felt more like a cheap mountain hotel than a seaside hangout. We went out to the front patio and discovered it was on a slant, so all the tables were on an angle. Things even slid off. Not only that, most of them and their chairs were also wobbly. The eating utensils and napkins were presented in large, used, presumably cleaned, empty food cans, which made me hesitate to even use them. How anyone thought that was appetizing is beyond me. The table we chose had not yet been cleaned, and we had to ask to have it done. Then, there was the bathroom, which was absolutely filthy. There wasn't even a lock on the door. Came with a group of friends around 8pm ish, it was pretty busy as expected. The line to order wasn't too long so that was great! Ordering process wasn't so nice.. a young girl took my order (didn't catch her name). She didn't ask for our name or give us a number after we had asked for the food to be dine in. Thought this was weird because the rest of our friends got asked their names or were given a number to dine in. My friend and I were not given a number or asked our names so we thought it was kinda weird considering that's how we get our food. The cashier wasn't too friendly either, no smiles, no "welcome!".. Just a straight face as she waited for us to greet her and start our order. Seems like friendly customer service isn't such a big deal here.. Since my friend and I didn't receive anything for our order we went to the take out spot to check if our order was possibly placed there instead. The guy who was helping us was so accommodating and helpful! Very relieved of that. Not sure if he was a manger but he was amazing! We told him of the issue and it took a while to find our order but he got everything in order. He asked if we would still like our orders to enjoy here or take them to go instead. We decided to just take it to go as most of our friends had already got their orders way before us and enjoyed it themselves. We appreciated the offer to take it to go. First off, Ahba in Laguna Beach is beautiful, and the food is good. Unfortunately, that's where the quality of the experience ends. Our group spent a little over two hours there, during which we had Aperol spritzes along with burgers and fries. We were not drunk, loud, or behaving inappropriately--we were simply enjoying a relaxed evening with friends. Despite this, our group was unfairly singled out and made to feel extremely uncomfortable by Ally and Caitlyn. We were refused an additional drink, even though other patrons--clearly "locals"--were noticeably intoxicated. As a server myself, I fully understand the importance of cutting someone off when necessary. That was not the case here. As regular guests who frequent this establishment throughout the summer, this treatment was especially disappointing. The situation escalated when staff made offensive remarks as we walked by, including calling my sister "f_cking weird." When we asked to speak with a manager, staff members claimed to be managers themselves and refused to provide any contact information. Throughout the interaction, they spoke to us unprofessionally, using terms like "babes" in a sarcastic and dismissive manner. Probably one of the worst experiences I've had in Laguna. This place is super popular on tiktok so I decided to give it a try. We ordered the famous burger and a grilled cheese, both with fries. Ahba Burger: it definitely didn't look the way it looks in the videos, which is okay. However the taste was mid, in n out or other comparable places are definitely better. The burger was like $18 which insane for the quality. The fries were cold and I could tell they had been sitting out for a while. The grilled cheese was genuinely just a joke. They gave me hamburger buns and 3 slices of singles cheese inside. Thats it. No dressings of any kind, no lettuce, tomato, not even onions. May I add that the cheese wasn't even melted... they forgot the "grilled" part of a grilled cheese. If I wanted to pay $10 for buns and cold cheese I would've just made it at home. I took the grilled cheese back because it was honestly just ridiculous and the girl that helped me was very sweet. She offered to remake it or give me something else. We had already been waiting for a while so I wanted something that would be quick. She said a salad is fast, only takes like 2 minutes to make, so I accepted. I told her i'd be willing to get a Caesar salad. She went and told the cook and the cook was upset and said "why are we remaking this for her." After she explained he was reluctant but still made it. When I tell you the salad I received.. actually laughable. It was smaller than the size of my hand, definitely not their normal sized salads. It was like a side that was gone in 3 bites. At that point I was over it so I just left because I wasn't going to keep wasting my time. As for the environment, there is absolutely no parking anywhere. They don't have a lot so you need to find street parking and theyre located next to an apartment complex so good luck finding anything. The bathroom is in the building next door, there is barely any lighting in there, they had incense lit up so the smell was interesting. I was actually excited to try this place because it looked cute and the food looked amazing on tiktok. I kept getting videos on my fyp about it and made the 45 min drive. Everything was just disappointing and a waste of money. I don't know if their quality went down because they got more popular but go at your own risk. But everytime I go I am disappointed by the food and how expensive it is. I think it is overrated for food and I will not be going back now. I tried the chicken caesar wrap and it had hardly any chicken just a big tortilla with lettuce and sauce.
