Of course, the Secret Sauce deserves its own shoutout--it makes everything better. We also tried the Artifex Honey Blonde and the Board & Brew IPA. Both were cold, refreshing, and a great match for the sandwiches. What stood out most was the customer service. The staff was attentive, upbeat, and made us feel welcome the entire time. Right on the coast hwy you will find this sandwich shop. It's really good. Lots of indoor seating and a bar area. We always get sandwiches to go and walk straight to the beach across the street for a nice picnic. Delicious sandwiches are made here. Great customer service as well. I got a free tote bag with my purchase which is so cute. I ordered the turkey club deluxe and the Baja chicken wrap. Both very delicious. My husband and I shared half and half. This is hands down my most favorite sandwich from a sandwich shop. I legitimately wouldn't change anything. The bread is perfect. The combinations are all great. The sandwich is massive. I can definitely eat, and I can never finish a whole sandwich. You get your money's worth. This location is great. Right across from Main beach. They have a bar seating and tables. The beer list is always on point. All of the staff is friendly and helpful. When we have been, someone always swings by to make sure we are happy. I've been a fan of this Sammy shop for 20 years and various locations in SD. I am so glad they have expanded to Laguna. If you love sandwiches, you will love it here. read more

Amazing sandwiches for our beach day! I did an online order for the California sandwich (the one with cream cheese, sprouts, and sunflowers seeds) and it was amazing! Even better when you add their special sauce. My husband said the Italian sub was also one of the best he's had. I found a great spot on the beach and realized this place was directly across the street from our spot, which made it super convenient to order some food and head right back to our spot. I ordered the Turkey Board sandwich, which comes with mayo, tomato, and lettuce on your choice of bread. I went with the sweet wheat, and wow...it's honestly the softest, most delicious wheat bread I've ever had. The turkey was juicy, and the sandwich was a generous size, so I saved half for later. I love that they make it so easy to customize your sandwich...perfect for picky eaters who don't like mayo or other extras. You can choose your bread type (with gluten free option available at an extra charge) and even have some sauce on the side. I was excited about their add on options...some of them are free! I added sprouts and onions at no extra charge. They also offer other extras for an additional cost. I also grabbed a grilled cheese from the kid's menu for one of my little ones, and it was pretty good too. The only thing I'd suggest to make this place even better is offering a few more options for kids. Right now, they only have two...quesadilla and grilled cheese, which isn't ideal for kids who are lactose intolerant. Adding something simple like a PB&J could be a great, kid friendly alternative. I loved how easy it was to order online and just walk over to pick it up. Next time, I'll definitely try to grab the same beach spot so I can explore more of their sandwiches and hopefully try their beer, which I missed out on this time. You order at the counter right as you enter and they bring the food to you. I decided to get a tuna sandwich and sat at the bar. I happened to notice a sign on the bar for a $5 beer deal, so I asked the friendly older man behind the counter if I needed to order it at the cashier and he said I could order it from my seat and he'd bring me a bill. I decided on a lager--I forget the name, but it was crisp and refreshing on a hot day. The sandwich was very fresh, delicious, hefty, and reasonably priced. The sandwich was so hefty, in fact, I get half of it to go, and it held up nicely until I finished it a few hours later. I'm a fan! read more

3.5 Here's the thing, Board & Brew has been a staple for me when I visit friends in SD, particularly for their caesar salad wrap. Now is it anything revolutionary? I wouldn't say so... but if you're looking for a couple sandwiches to enjoy on the beach, it's a decent option (personally I'd be going to some businesses offering artisnal sandwiches, but it's a good option to have). Now, we had a really interesting experience here. We asked for caesar salad wraps as we normally do in SD, and were met with a wrap consisting of chicken and a green salad (tomato, cucumber, lettuce, some other veggies and no caesar dressing). We finally mustered up the courage to bring it up and the employee was so kind, quickly explaining that there are two options, a secret menu wrap or the caesar salad wrapped in a tortilla; and we had asked for the latter but received the former. He was so understanding, stating that the person who took our order should have clarified and quickly brought us what we had asked for, later explaining that we can customize as "chopped" or "tossed" as well, another thing that's a given in our usual SD location. I was pleasantly surprised by this kind service and it certainly made me more willing and wanting to come back. For reference, though, definitely keep this in mind so you place the right order unlike us! read more

Came here on a Saturday during winter around noon and did not have to wait. But, I will say it did get busy 30 minutes to an hour later. Service was nice and informative. You can't beat the location which is right across the beach. We took our sandwiches and ate them on the beach. We got the wrap which was OK i would not recommend it. The turkey sandwich was good though. It is really small in there maybe 10 tables a bar counter top - order up front. They only have beer no wine or anything else. Overall, OK. Good enough for us to give it another shot after we try other options. read more

Board & brew is always a solid choice for sandwiches. My faves are the turkado & veggie one (sometimes I add some slices of meat to the veggie one). Today, we ordered the beef dip. It was a lot of beef, which my husband loved, but literally only beef and cheese, which IMO could've been balanced with some grilled onions or something. Note the prices on the menu are not reflective of the actual prices. The beef dip was $3 or $4 more than what was written on the menu (can't recall exact amount). Aside from that, great place to grab some handheld food for the beach! Edited to note - love the response to my review. Had the conn salad and it was amazing! Fresh lettuce and chicken was moist and the Italian dressing was perfect addition for a light but filling meal. My husband had the beef dip and the auj joys was amazing. I even had to have a couple bites! read more
