My picture doesn't even come close to doing it justice. So so good! Shrimp & Chorizo Tacos - We've loved these for years! They took them off the menu for a while and we're so glad they're back because they're sooo good. Burger - 10/10. Juicy, cooked perfectly, and really flavorful lots of fresh ingredients. Ceviche - A little on the small side, but super fresh and flavor is You can't beat the location, it's right on the beach with ocean views and that makes everything better :) We had a group of 7 and our server was awesome. She was really sweet, kept checking in on us, and made everything easy even with a bigger group. Because we waited an hour to be seated, we decided to try what little they had and was not impressed at all. This is for the Valet service and restaurant since I have not been able to get ahold of ANYONE since they damaged my car. The valet service used at The Deck damaged my car on 7/29 at The Deck in Laguna Beach. Refused to refund me for my valet through the company and tried to pay me from his own cash which I refused because the company needs to refund me, and I've never heard back from a manager or anyone regarding the situation. I have a dent and HUGE paint chip taken out of my brand new car. The valet was rude and unhelpful. I've left SEVERAL MESSAGES with the number they've given me.. and it asks your name and why your calling before the calls goes through. They choose to forward it every time. I will be perusing legal action since I have had zero success in trying to get this taken care of. I've tried calling the restaurant itself with zero success. This used to be my favorite place and I actually came here to celebrate my birthday and this is the most disappointing experience I've ever had. read more

This place has a great ambiance right on the water! Parking is difficult but they do offer valet. I really enjoyed their grilled cheese and tomato soup and the burger was also pretty good. Menu is small with lots of classics but drinks are strong. It's a great place to hang out with friends and socialize. read more

Took my mother-in-law here for her birthday and we all had such a great experience! We got there around 4-4:15pm and had about a 20 minute wait, but we were able to find a high top table that we got to sit at and were able to order drinks from the bar, so that helped to pass our time. We got seated at our table at our table around 4:30p and had the most perfect view of the ocean! *we went on a Friday night and noticed the patio cleared out about 4:45-5pm and I didn't appear to have a lot of people waiting during that time. The main patio was covered with umbrellas, so once you are seated for dinner, there was plenty of umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it got a little cooler. For our food orders, and as recommended by our server, we went with their seafood options and ordered their Pacific Ceviche for an appetizer and for Entrees my husband got the Roasted Halibut and me and my mother-in-law both got the Scallop and Shrimp pasta. We all loved our dishes and were very satisfied with our choices. Their menu does have non-seafood options, but why not to try what they're most prominent for? They don't have a dessert menu, but they heard that we were celebrating mom's birthday so they brought us a little Toffee Cake to share and enjoy...and for a place that doesn't have dessert, the cake was pretty delicious. On the deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean! What a beautiful view!! We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Upon arrival, you'll find that the valet completely disregards the flow of the street. They use the southbound lane as a parking lot, effectively turning a small two-way road into a one-way alley. The valet guys were also rude to people trying to drive through for no apparent reason. When sitting outside on the deck, there are 12 heaters available, but the hostess wouldn't turn them on. (I've eaten at many waterfront restaurants, and they all turn the heaters on--especially when the temperature drops from 80°F and sunny to 68°F after the sun goes down.) The website states no seating after 8 p.m., yet they were still seating people well after 8:15. The menu was also not what I was expecting. While waiting for dinner, the aroma of marijuana drifted across the dining area. (I know they can't control what happens outside their establishment.) the deck is roped off because apparently it's unsafe and could fall off at any moment in addition to the rotting floor. The food: The menu is underwhelming. I ordered the chicken with sun-dried tomato risotto and vegetables. The risotto was undercooked and flavorless, and the chicken was also lacking flavor. I sampled the New York steak with mashed potatoes--the steak was cooked well, but the potatoes were cold. We didn't even bother ordering dessert and went elsewhere instead. read more

Recommended the mahi mahi as I asked help in choosing between three things and my boyfriend chose the beach burger. The food was well cooked with no complaints but really disappointing that they only come with chips. Really could have used French fries which would have landed this a better review. When you pay $21/$24 for sandwiches would just be a better side than chips to satisfy your hunger. Wouldn't you agree? My boyfriend liked the drinks too. Great view though, can't beat it. Such a nice spot with beautiful beachfront view! My friend and I stopped by for some drinks and snacks. We got margaritas, white wine, and chips with guac. Staff was welcoming and gave lots of recommendations. A little on the pricier side but guess that makes sense for the location and views. We have been coming here for years and have gone through several of their menu changes! But it's been around 8 months the last time we were here. This place gets packed during summer or any good sunny day, especially on weekends. So, I'm glad to be able to come here on a weekday for lunch on a nice California day! There were only 2 of us so we were seated closest to the sand/ edge (tables at end are 2 seater). And place was not full yet. We were served by Christian R who is very pleasant and attentive. And of course, we come here mostly for the view!! The amazing view, so close to the ocean. This time we got the Laguna Cioppino and the Beach Burger. The cioppino has so much seafood (and variety of) and good! It comes with yummy buttered and toasted bread. The burger is really good too. These are two of our go to's here. This place was pretty popular on the weekday that we went there. This place has good food and a great view of the beach. It's a very relaxing place to hang out at the end of the day, have a drink, and eat some seafood. The clams and mussels were delicious. One had a butter sauce and the other had a tomato-based sauce. I had the tomato soup and grilled cheese with bacon. It was so good, I'd say some of the best comfort food I've ever had. My wife had the same, but my daughter had the clam chowder. I was really hoping for a great lunch, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The poke and mussels were actually very good, which makes it even more frustrating that the rest of the meal fell so short. I ordered the scallop and shrimp pasta, and on my very first bite of the scallop, it had a strong ammonia taste--a common sign that seafood has gone bad. After that, I completely lost my appetite and couldn't eat the rest of my meal. My daughter ordered the cioppino, and after checking the seafood in her dish, we noticed the scallop was also very rubbery and didn't seem fresh either. Fresh seafood is something restaurants should never compromise on. Based on this experience, I can't recommend eating here and would suggest trying another restaurant instead. read more

They had plenty of nicer tables with better views not under the stairs because they just opened. We ordered 2 drinks a vodka soda and a drink off the menu, are drinks came right away and my husbands drink was nasty, he had me taste it and I told him there was no carbonation in the drink, I took it back up the bar they threw it out and fixed the drink with a new carbonation seltzer. I tasted my drink and it had the same problem but I drank it anyway. We ordered oysters and poke appetizer It was delicious. After our drinks we ordered 2 more drinks vodka soda and a aperol spritzer right before we ordered our main dish a seafood pasta, our pasta came before our 2nd order of drinks came they took forever! We waited for our server to bring us our check for a while and then asked another server to grab him for us We paid our check $180 plus tip Which was awkward because the server showed us where to leave a tip. Not viewable from the street but you'll have to turn into what looks like a small apartment unit but next to it you'll see a little sign that directs you to the Deck (next to driftwood). There's also valet so once you get down you shouldn't struggle too much to find this place. You can smell the salty water right when you get off. Came here to just relax in the sun and hear the sound of the waves. Was feeling a little hungry so decided to try the grilled cheese sandwich which was made with warm delicious mozzarella with grilled onions and bacon (personally asked for bacon to be excluded). This meal comes with a bowl of tomato bisque. This was the perfect meal for an overcast day. They also have oysters on a half shell and a full bar. The thing I don't like is the expensive valet parking last time I was there it was $12 to park my car, but that's the problem with Laguna Beach. No parking the restaurant itself is very lively. Festive service is great. Food is wonderful. I've been there for brunch with a group and it was very good. I understand it may be closing September 8. where they're going to build a hotel and a parking garage I don't think Laguna needs another hotel but they definitely need a parking garage. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Laguna Beach. I always make a reservation before getting there so checking in is an ease. I also always valet. The streets are narrow and honestly I wouldnt even know where I could park. The host is usually very nice and I do like to request outdoor seating which has always been accommodated. Unbeatable vibes and views - & worth the wait (during Labor Day weekend) The Deck gave us an experience worth remembering. Brandon, Lawrence, and the manager treated us like we were the only ones there even though we showed up with quite the crowd. They helped us get settled with two tables of six and another table of four, which made everything run smoothly. One part of our group was seated later by a third party, and while it took a while, once they were finally seated the staff did a great job of prioritizing them and making sure they were well taken care of. The setting alone is breathtaking, but the food holds its own next to the views. The ceviche was fresh and bright, the mahi mahi sandwich was delicious, the shrimp tacos disappeared fast, and even the grilled cheese and chicken sandwich had their own flair. Every bite felt thoughtful and delicious. My friend commented on the grilled cheese being the best she had ever ate. What tied it all together was the team. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help, they made the night flow effortlessly. Such a cute hidden gem! The food and service were exceptional, and the views were stunning! Inside is a minimalist style restaurant with nice big windows to view the ocean. They have a few 2 seater tables outside on the patio with beautiful views above and below the glass, with umbrellas to keep you cool on sunny days. This place has stunning ocean views. Come at sunset for the glistening waves, soaring seagulls, and to watch the surfers. The whole view is oh-so-very Orange County. The food exceeded our expectations. There are many oceanfront restaurants along the coast that will bank on their locations but then short- change you on the quality of their food. But we found the charcuterie platter had a nice variety of cheeses, and both the hamburger and mahi mahi burger were quite good. Deducted a star for the service, although the place was packed.
