    Pan Fried Dumplings

I have been coming here for years they changed owners approximately a year ago. The new owners added more items to their original menu. The place is always packed now. It's still good but some of our favorites are a little changed they have a fried egg now instead of the tea hard boiled egg which I like. The vegetable broth doesn't have a lot of flavor like it use. Also, the gyoza sauce is now ordinary sweet sauce which they use to use the spicy may. It's still good and next time I will have to try stuff off their new menu.

Za Jiang w/Pork, Mild Spice. WONDERFUL!

I stopped in for lunch on 5/21/2025and I ordered the Za Jiang noodle bowl with pork ($13) Mild Spice. It was brought out to my table QUICKLY and PIPING HOT. It needed a little more spiciness so I added some hot red pepper oil CAREFULLY, a little at a time. What I had was a DELICIOUS noodle bowl with just the right amount of ZING to it. I really enjoy their TRADITIONAL CHINESE noodle bowls and I hope that they add more selections to their menu in the near future. Bathrooms were clean and odorless. I SHALL RETURN!

    试了红烧牛肉面和肥肠面,面真挺不错的,对于这个价格来说肉稍微有点少,肥肠处理得很干净但没什么味道。服务很热情,店在一个mall里。但在密歇根这个地方属于矮个子里拔将军了。

Tomato soup with diced shrimp bowl - super authentic taste! Diced shrimp balls are full of flavor.

Delicious "hole in the mall" place. Tomato soup with diced shrimp bowl - super authentic taste! Diced shrimp balls are full of flavor. The X-Bowl is delicious as well - a bit of everything! Highly authentic and delicious!

authentic Chinese soups, noodles, side dishes and specialties! Located inside of a mall, but don't let that fool you. this place is fast paced and flavorful! the pork belly melts in your mouth, potato perfectly soaking up the spices and delicious chili oil, veggies cooked perfectly every time. They also offer fun Asian canned/bottled drinks like SacSac and cooling herbal tea. the service is humble and hella fast. the walls are covered with really cool shrine images, so you feel like you're sitting in a bamboo forest. the seating is wooden benches and tables, small and large. love it here!!!

Ah-Ha Noodles inside Laurel Park Mall recently changed ownership. I got a chance to try an old favorite (V Bowl) and one of their new sides (2 pc spring rolls). The new owner showed me their new menu with some delicious looking dishes they are going to start making. If you are looking for more authentic Chinese cuisine, I highly recommend giving them a shot. Sadly, there are not more spots like this in Livonia.

There isn't much to this place and it's located in the mall. What it does have is a kick a$$ Chinese hot & sour bowl. Do yourself a favor and check it out!!

I've always been hesitant to visit AhHa Noodles as their build-your-own-noodle-bowl gimmick seemed to sacrifice authenticity in search of more widespread appeal. After reading more recent reviews, however, it seems like a recent ownership change allowed the restaurant to update their menu to introduce some more authentic dishes. I decided to drop by for lunch over the weekend to give them a try. Za Jiang with Peas ($12.99) - Thin wheat noodles form the foundation of this dish, cooked until just a bit bouncy in the center. It comes to the table unmixed, so for the uninitiated, it looks like this dish will be underwhelming. This couldn't be further from the truth. As you mix up the bowl to coat the noodles in the mala peppercorn oil, the fragrance of the sauce really hits you. When you dig in, you taste a deeply savory and aromatic flavor with a bit of smokiness, which then transitions into the mouth numbing feel of the shichuan peppercorn. It's not too overwhelming and still allows you to enjoy the taste of everything else in the dish. The bowl has a pile of sliced raw scallions, roasted red skin peanuts to give nuttiness and a bit of crunch, and an extremely rich ground pork sauce. The pork is very tender with no gristle. There's also a nice fried egg on the side to add additional protein, and a few leaves of blanched bok choy for texture. I've only had 炸醬麵 (zhajiangmian) before, so this was a really nice surprise to have the 杂酱面 (Sichuanese version of the dish). (5/5) Braised Beef Noodle ($14.99) - I ordered this dish mild spicy and I found it to be very spicy - maybe it's mild for someone from Sichuan, but for other people, yikes! Pools of chili oil float on the surface of the soup that cause the back-of-the-throat kind of spiciness. Tons of sichuan peppercorn started numbing the mouth as soon as I bit in. As I ate, beads of sweat formed and dripped down my face. Yet, I found this dish to be delicious. The thin bouncy wheat noodles soak in a spicy, but deeply beefy and aromatic soup. There's some cilantro on top and some chopped preserved vegetables mixed in, and finally several chunks of beef meat and tendon. Both are cooked very well, with the meat being tender and easy to chew, and the tendon nice and bouncy. The beef is marinated in a five spice mixture, giving a bit of a different fragrant taste vs. the broth and as with the zha jiang mian, there's a nice fried egg on the side. Leaves of bok choy are a vegetal reprieve from the spicy broth. While this dish doesn't quite reach the highs of the zha jiang mian, it's still very good. (4/5) I didn't expect to find an excellent Chinese noodle place inside of a dying mall. Livonia just doesn't seem like it has the demographics to support this business - but I'm glad it exists, because AhHa Noodles serves some of the best noodles you can find around Metro Detroit. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying their other dishes. Bathrooms - One unisex room. Overall rating of the food this visit: 4.5/5

I've coming here for awhile now and I'm glad to see they've added items to the menu that are a lot more authentic Chinese. My new favorite dish from them is a spicy noodle soup with pig intestines. I know that sounds so gross and that's definitely an acquired taste and texture, but for someone who has acquired that taste and texture, I love it. I've had their scallion pancakes. Delicious appetizer, but they make it to order, so it's not going to come out before the noodles. I would say the only thing I was disappointed about is that they used to include half of a tea leaf egg with a soup noodle bowl, which takes time to make. But within the last year, they've switched to a simple well-done fried egg. That is no longer a value-add because I can easily make that at home. At least they don't charge extra for the egg. Either way, I love going there long after the lunch rush so I can eat in peace.

A friend had mentioned this restaurant last year and suggested meeting up for dinner. Then covid happened and dinner plans with her and others fell from my calendar. Located in Laurel Park Place, near Olga's and across from the Coney, AhHa Noodles occupies a large space. At the front, guests place their order, specifying noodle preference (egg noodles, vermicelli, ramen, etc), broth (beef, chicken, etc), and protein (wontons, beef, chicken, etc). There is also a long list of appetizers: sliders, dumplings, spring rolls, etc. Of course, I was in the mood for ramen - I am always in the mood for ramen. I chose the beef broth and wontons, I know a weird combination, but it was a creative choice. There was an abundance of fresh and tender noodles, very slurp-worthy, and large wontons - as well as aromatics. What I loved the most was the ramen egg. It had such an unexpectedly lovely, distinct flavor. Additionally, the fried wonton app was crispy and delicious. I also loved the crunchy spring rolls. While I waited, I noted the family-sized wood tables and benches. I loved the Asian-styled chairs throughout the restaurant. Service was quick so I was in and out with my order in under 15 minutes.

This is not lo mein. If you want a northern Chinese flavor bomb you have landed at the right place. Call it the X-noodle factor. I tired the ingredients individually: braised pork belly, egg with tomato (much better than it sounds), potatoes, etc. and they were all great. Next, mix it all together and it will cast a spell on you. I suggest adding some black vinegar. I got medium heat which was perfect so you don't lose the flavor of the other components. If you want to go against the grain, ask for zero spice as it is basically chili flakes on the side. You can add as little or as much as you want later. Even though they don't make the noodles they use fresh pasta. Don't rely on GPS to finding the spot. There are many buildings in the complex so make sure you find the Laurel Park Mall building. You also see a Dunham's sign. GO straight to the far end by Olga's and a Coney shop. It is tucked in a corner. Very casual. Order and self pick up area. They have their own seating area with picnic style tables.

Best spot in the mall! So good Great flavor Great price Good service Nice and quiet

The Beef Bulgogi bowl looked tasty, so I went inside, took a seat and gave the waitress my order. My order was served up QUICK and HOT. But, I was disappointed when I saw the rather SMALL size of the bowl placed in front of me. I asked the waitress if this was the lunch size. She said no, it is the same for both lunch and dinner. So I dug in to the beef first. It lacked seasoning, flavor and texture. BLAND! Then I looked the spring roll and the dumpling. These were not handmade and seemed to be similar to what I have purchased at COSTCO. Just CABBAGE inside both of them. Ambiance is kind of Americana kitsch, a real mishmash for a cafe trying to serve Asian fusion cuisine. Then the bill arrived and I was taken aback at $13.50 for such a small bowl. My dining experience definitely DID NOT equal the glowing reviews from my fellow Yelpsters. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER!

The first two times, I ordered over the phone, then drove 20 minutes to pick up two mango smoothies, only to wait 43 minutes after arriving. There were barely any customers, so waiting over an hour total was completely unreasonable. Today was even worse. My boyfriend ordered summer rolls and spring rolls and clearly specified multiple times that we only wanted shrimp, since I have a severe pork allergy. He drove 30 minutes from work, only to be told the order still wasn't ready and had to wait another 18 minutes. When he got home, I checked the food (as I always do) and found pork in my "only shrimp" summer rolls. I called, and they told us to bring them back and they would remake them right away. We drove another 20 minutes back, only to wait an additional 18 minutes because, once again, the food was not ready. This place is overpriced, understaffed, and unreliable. More importantly, they do not take food allergies seriously, which is unacceptable.

After graduating my girlfriend [now wife] and I would make it a point to try and eat at Matsu-Chan when in the area, even after our first kiddo, and eventually our second. Last year before one of our trips to the area my wife let me know that they were under new management and when I looked at the new menu, I was saddened that all of my favorite items were no longer present, and it seemed that my beloved little slice of Japan was now "just" a ramen shop. While my wife loves and can handle ramen and the broth, I would typically get the different rice bowls, or other entrees because while I love me some good ramen it doesn't work out well for me with the hour or so trip to the area. We'd get some rolls, takoyaki, and other appetizers to share around the table before digging into our main entrees.
