This place has really delicious pho and also great appetizers like the hybrid crispy and soft appetizer rolls. They also have a very interesting eating contest where if you eat a large bowl of pho for $36 you get it for free but if you don't you have to pay. On the wall, there are photos of the winners who did it (with a winner sign) and those who couldn't finish it (with a loser sign). Also a lot more losers than winners but such is life amirite? The food is delicious! The staff is amazing--everyone is very friendly and patient. The tables are always spotless; I've never seen a single stain, and they're cleaned almost immediately after customers leave. This is my Mom's FAVORITE restaurant. They know her & my Dad & what they like to order! I love that! The parking on the corner is not for the restaurant. The restaurant stays pretty chilly, but your pho will help warm you. Servers are tentative and the food comes out pretty quickly. Mom asked for hot tea (unsweetened) & it was tasty. I stop by today for the first time and I ordered the rare steak pho takeout. As soon as I walked in the door that beautiful aroma of this classic dish surround your senses. I was super hungry so I'm sure that helped. When I got home I unpacked my order. I arranged everything in a large bowl and layered in all of the additions that you would expect such as bean sprouts, onions, noodles, fresh lime. First I tasted just the broth and oh my. How delicious. Maybe the best I've ever had. I really enjoyed my food and I can't wait to go back. The inside is clean and modest. My takeout was ready in maybe five minutes, very fast. Very friendly folks here. The outside of the building doesn't look like much but don't be fooled. One of the original and dependable pho spots. Located in a residential part of town with a side parking lot. It is a hole in the wall but the broth keeps me coming back. Sadly its years are starting to show. Also, I liked how they used to put the meat on a separate plate so you could cook it in the broth to the doneness you prefer. Outstanding! I am blown away by the flavor of their pho broth--I had the one with cooked beef and since it was carry out, all of the herbs, sprouts, meat and veggies come in a container. The summer and spring rolls were both delicious too. I can eat this at least once or twice a week and not feel heavy or guilty. Love it! A plain exterior with a broken sign and a simple menu. I ordered the spring rolls and the P1 House Pho from a very nice waiter. A short time later the spring rolls arrived, perfectly fried to a golden brown. Letting them cool a bit, the first crunchy bite was met with a flavor that was rich and satisfying. The blend of filling was well balanced and nicely seasoned with a hint of tumeric. Soon a plate of veggies condiments , mint, pepper, sprouts, and lime slices appeared signalling the arrival of the main course. A large bowl with slices of pork rested on top of the nicely rolled/folded thin rice noodles. The broth was light with hints of oil and rich color. The slices of beef and tripe were within this medley of flavors, and highlighted by a few spiced asian meat balls. Adding the condiments to the bowl and letting it blanch for a minute allowed me to enjoy the rich aroma. The flavors were excellent. This was a great bowl of Pho. read more

I was a visitor in Detroit for a few months and had the opportunity to find this hidden gem. Although I wouldn't say it was the nicest restaurant, i didn't have any issues on the cleanliness. The food was outstanding, I especially loved the miniature banh mi. I probably would give it five stars if it was a better location and had more of an ambiance in the restaurant itself. Their Menu is simple only with 6 options but variations of these main dishes. they have Vegetarian broth with tofu option for the Pho and vermicelli can also be modified the same way. it tastes very good. They serve in regular size (which is more than enough for an above average appetite person) and large and Humongous size(challenge bowl . They don't have vegetarian spring roll :( for the size and appearance form outside they have maintained this place really well. the dishes and tables are clean. the staff is nice just doing their business (they don't smile, but don't take it personal lol) one small thing the carrot they used did not taste fresh. this is one of best Vietnamese option around. We didn't get the pho here which was probably a mistake since pho is in their name. They have a large selection of pho and a few bun (vermicelli) and com (rice) dishes. The goi cuon (fresh summer rolls) were good. The sauce for the Bun and the Com dishes wasn't very flavorful. Maybe needed more fish sauce? The house made hot sauce was very good.
