We went here to adopt a friend for him. The cat we adopted, she told us all he had was a scratched cornea. This was sad and all, but not anything that would affect our current, healthy cat. Next thing we know, the cat actually had (FVR - feline viral rhinotracheitis). She lied to us saying there was nothing wrong with the cat besides a scratched cornea. When we told her about the FVR she said, "Oh yea ALL my cats have it, it's very common". A few weeks later our once healthy cat is extremely sick, we spent abunch of money trying to see what was wrong with him. Extremely shady and very messed up to give a cat with health issues, that can affect your healthy cat at home.

Watching him suffer brought me to tears. The office compassionately made room for him to be seen immediately that morning. Dawn is incredibly patient, encouraging, and truly a gecko whisperer. She even rescues geckos in critical condition from pet stores, rehabilitates them, and has kept several as her own pets. She took the time to teach me everything about gecko care and wrote detailed instructions covering healthy feeding, habitat setup, and the exact products to use. I'm so happy to say that with their medicine and care instructions my gecko began improving almost immediately. Now, a little over a month later, he is thriving. Im so grateful for Dawn and Dr. McNeil, they saved my Figgy's life.

We spent over $2,000 on steroids, appetite stimulants, allergy medications, and prescription diet changes -- yet he only continued to decline. No real answers. No diagnosis. Just more treatments that did nothing while my dog suffered. One morning he could no longer stand, and we rushed him to an emergency vet. Within minutes the doctor suspected lymphoma simply by feeling his lymph nodes, which were severely swollen. After showing us how obvious they were to check, I was left shocked and devastated that the doctor missed this. He died just two weeks after finally receiving the correct diagnosis. I cannot describe the guilt I carry for trusting the wrong vet and feeling like he would still be here if I had taken him else where. After going to a few vets after his diagnosis I realized how limited education and other opinions are at small vets. As pet owners, we rely on veterinarians to recognize serious warning signs and think beyond routine treatments when an animal is clearly not improving. I write this with an extremely heavy heart and urge anyone reading this to get a second opinion after going to this vet. Our dog deserved better. I will never be back.

Cassie's Cats is a really fun place for cats. They've been around for about 3 years and have re-homed about 160 cats. This is a space where the cats are safe. You can come visit, donate, or even adopt. Interacting with the cats is fun. Not all of them are open to strangers, so when you get one to enjoy your company, it's a good feeling. It's wonderful that Ventura has such a wonderful place.

In a week, we noticed that the spay stitches were left…read morein for 2.5 months, she has stitches in her leg that were left in for 2 months, and she had stitches in her ears (from a previous botched clipping job not associated with legacy of love) that the vets missed. The foster parents neglected to remove the spay stitches even though they were told to do so. With bumps on the road (almost all relating back to the foster people), Alyssa Lowe has been amazing and so helpful. She is righting all the wrong and we couldn't be more pleased with her. I just wish everyone at Legacy of Love 805 cared about the dogs health and well being as much as Alyssa does. She's working overtime to correct all the mistakes that the foster parents did with our little girl. Thank you Alyssa.

In October I fell madly in love with a 'Princess of Wales Parakeet', who had been attacked as a baby and was missing part of his beak. (This bird, Cosmo, was NOT from Birds & Bs) While he's still young, Amelia has been grooming Cosmo's beak every week for months, little by little, to help his beak grow out in a way that helped his underbite, and prevents splitting. The progress he's made so far is remarkable. She has been so patient and kind, explaining the process in detail along the way. I know Cosmo is living his best life thanks to her. We are forever grateful.

She is the light of our lives, and Kim at Birds And B's has taken care of her since the day we brought her home. She offered sincere care, concern and incredible knowledge about the Amazon Parrot. Echo is now 10 years old, and as I do, every month or two, went to retrieve my supplies, that were needed for her. To my surprise, the business had been sold. Not a problem as I introduced myself to the new owner, and carried on with my purchases. I have to say, I have continued to shop here, as the quality of merchandise had always been the same, and I expected nothing less. I was wrong, unfortunately, and I've decided to take my business elsewhere, at this point. This was not an easy decision as I love the "Mom and Pop" vibe, and I'm MORE than happy to keep these types of businesses alive, and support them, in my hometown of Ventura. I tried my best, with the new owner, even had Echo groomed there two times, even though I never felt like a valued customer. In fact, I felt like she didn't even like me, which is crazy. I would come in, say hi with a smile, and was treated with just a stare. 7 out of 7 times, I would stand in line for SEVERAL and i mean 10's of minutes, while she talked with ONE person. Did not know who that person was, It seemed, she would make up conversations just to not engage with me. I would always buy toys, food, even want to ask about new products, but she was completely uninterested. I consistently gave her the benefit of the doubt, but finally realized it wasn't me and there was nothing I could do about it. The last visit I made, I walked in, and surprisingly saw a familiar face, an old employee that had worked there prior, to the new owner. It was literally the best visit I had had, and I made that my last as I saw the attention that the old employee gave immediately, and knew then, i would not be returning. I gave it one last attempt, and I called in for a grooming appointment; early by my standards, which surprised me because I had JUST been in there, but realized I don't think her nails were even addressed [trimmed] on that final grooming. That was the final straw. Wish me luck, as I know the care for exotic birds are limited, locally, when it comes to GOOD care, but I just won't take the chance anymore. Simply said; I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. As you can see, i PREVIOUSLY, HIGHLY recommended it I'm being very nice by giving that extra star, as I don't want my review to be questioned at all. This is 100% fact and I have given her more than ample opportunity, even questioning myself ‍ Ugh, so excited to MOVE ON
