We came across the cutest puppy named Enzo and promptly submitted our application. Doris was incredibly responsive and helpful, guiding us through the process as we provided proof of our ability to care for a dog at home. We had a wonderful visit with the foster family, and to our surprise, we had Enzo home with us within just three days--much quicker than we had anticipated. Spark Rescue followed up with all the necessary medical, microchip information, and we were thoroughly impressed with everything they had done for our sweet boy. We will be forever grateful to Spark Rescue for making this experience so smooth and positive.

I had a few questions regarding the process that Doris answered at the event. We went home and filled out the application. Spark Rescue is thorough. There was the application, meeting the pup at the wonderful foster's home which we stayed for quite a long time. Then the foster brought the puppy to our home and checked out our place for puppy safety and made sure our son was comfortable around her (he was a bit nervous at the first meeting) Finally we signed the contract after ensuring there was a quick adjustment to our railing so the puppy couldn't take any leaps from the second story. It is a process but you can tell they want to ensure the dogs to not end up abandoned or given to a neglectful home.

This time around, my pup was due for his three-year "double whammy" vaccination of both DHPP and rabies. I made the appointment online several weeks in advance (recommended since appointments go fast) and was able to select by my preferred date and time. I followed the clear instructions by arriving 5 minutes early, parking in the lot, then walking past the shelter building to the vet clinic. Julie welcomed me and Chester with a smile, while going over what to expect. She also offered him a kennel cough intranasal vaccine at the same time. The appointment was brief and required me to only wait about 5 minutes total. Not to mention that it only cost me reasonable $25 (there's discounts for senior citizens too). Julie walked Chester out and told me of possible side effects to watch out for. Although my pup was excited to escape, he also got a lot of good smells and pets in. We left all set for another 3 years. Keep in mind that both the DHPP and rabies vaccinations are required for dogs over 4 months of age in order to license them in the state of California. This helps protect all dogs but also reduces stray pets from roaming the streets. They also offer spay/neutering, deworming, flea treatments, anal gland expression, nail trimming, microchipping and an all-encompassing examination.

I was so excited to find a place like this that houses cats that are ready for adoption. The cats have been fully vaccinated, microchipped and have been spayed/neutered. They have reservations available to come pet and play with the cats. You can pay for a 15 minute session or a one hour session. It's such a win-win since the cats get socialized by the people going there and you get the opportunity to live on the cats. Well, I came for an hour and basically cried the whole time as I got to pet and play with the cats. Of course there was one, in particular, that looked similar to mine that I just lost. They crawled up on my lap and just let me pet them and cry. Very therapeutic! Please come support Cat Therapy as they help facilitate finding safe homes for these loving cats. Or better yet, come adopt one of your own. The facility is beautifully designed with toys, boxes, bowls to sleep in, scratch pads and indiscreet litter boxes. The cats freely roam so the doors stay locked to be sure they don't accidentally get out. Just ring the bell when you arrive. They also sell merchandise. This was well worth it! Thank you for the therapy and the chance to enjoy your cats.
