We adopted our kitty, Maeve, from ASAP a year and a half ago as a kitten. The staff was super helpful and the adoption process was a breeze! Hoping to add to our family soon! :)

I loved the place, very adorable kittens and cats all of different breeds and unique personalities. When I went looking on the internet for a cat I've always wanted a cat of my own, I filled out an application by Tuesday, on Wednesday they called me and told me certain details about this cat and so i slept on it for Thursday thinking what cat to choose from the list I could choose from, I loved Monet, Checkers and much more but I can't remember who else on the list on this recent Friday the 24th (of January) when we pulled into the parking lot they're usually closed unless you have a scheduled time you can schedule at on a closing day a certain time the girls working their are super understandable and definitely know what they do. I checked out all the cats and especially the kittens oh my gosh, if you're a kitten lover you must see these. Then theirs super nice, rascal and crazy kittens, the staff mentioned we can open their crate to pet them up close I petted Monet the same one I put on my list and Tommy a black cat both meowed at us when walking by then when we saw a small box room (I guess you can call it) with tiny kittens in it we didn't know how old each one was but their tiny little fur-balls they were all playing trying to attach my shoes luckily I was wearing tennis shoes I would recommend wearing actual shoes flip flops could get eaten. But these kittens were so cute all different colors and breeds. We had no time limit on how long to be in their for but we lasted around 5 mins they wanted to get out and be free so it was funny gently pushing them back so they don't escape. Then our time we told the staff we be back or I could come on a day they're open but you know what I did, I got a kitten for $75 which wasn't to bad actually and they do this buy one and get one free I would of taken that offer but I don't need a second but I highly suggest if your into kittens or cats please stop here if your in the Goleta area. Staff 10/10 really friendly and helpful especially when they can to accommodate your request. They run through useful information about the cat you choose, if had its shots or anything else. Please stop by tell them I sent you here. I got this adorable little 2 month baby girl Siamese kitten, originally named Dove but might change.

every volunteer/worker at the shelter is extremely helpful. They are always keeping the interest of the cats health in mind and only care about the health and well-being of their cats. We adopted our sweet girl from here about three weeks ago and they have been nothing but helpful since then, providing free support and even a two week period of free medical stuff.

Hands down this is the best animal shelter that I have ever visited. This shelter is one of very few true no-kill shelters in the state, and are full of loving and kind volunteers who know each cat by name, cared for in a clean and well-run facility. From the medical staff, trainers, volunteers who do everything from cleaning, feeding, playing with cats, welcoming visitors, they are true cat lovers who are dedicated to bringing the right cat and family together by assessing the needs for both. My home does not allow pets so I come here to get my "cat fix" frequently. Many of the volunteers recognize me and say hello, always friendly and willing to answer my questions even though they know I can't adopt immediately. They are so sweet. I've seen so many diamond-in-the-rough kitties come and go, many of them being older cats that are just the sweetest things just wanting a hooman's lap to warm without all the kitten crazies so they already know how to be clean and use litter boxes. Such cool chill cats! It's always bittersweet seeing them go because I hoped to adopt them, but I'm so glad that they found a good home sooner. I really can't say enough good things about this place. Just go if you're looking for a kitty companion in your life and I'll probably be there to sigh wistfully until I can move and meet my own purrfect kitty match!

Very sweet cat shelter. Next to each cat was a small description, and while most of the cats could be touched, the ones that were quarantined had warning stickers so you'd know not to touch. Occasionally they let out some cats to an outdoor area or one of the indoor rooms where visitors could go and play with them, and a few cats are let out to run around on the floor. There are sinks with soap everywhere so as to promote hygiene and the workers are very accommodating about interaction with the cats. Very cute place!

We came across the cutest puppy named Enzo and promptly submitted our application. Doris was incredibly responsive and helpful, guiding us through the process as we provided proof of our ability to care for a dog at home. We had a wonderful visit with the foster family, and to our surprise, we had Enzo home with us within just three days--much quicker than we had anticipated. Spark Rescue followed up with all the necessary medical, microchip information, and we were thoroughly impressed with everything they had done for our sweet boy. We will be forever grateful to Spark Rescue for making this experience so smooth and positive.

I had a few questions regarding the process that Doris answered at the event. We went home and filled out the application. Spark Rescue is thorough. There was the application, meeting the pup at the wonderful foster's home which we stayed for quite a long time. Then the foster brought the puppy to our home and checked out our place for puppy safety and made sure our son was comfortable around her (he was a bit nervous at the first meeting) Finally we signed the contract after ensuring there was a quick adjustment to our railing so the puppy couldn't take any leaps from the second story. It is a process but you can tell they want to ensure the dogs to not end up abandoned or given to a neglectful home.

Here comes a 5 star review if there ever was one! Our beloved dog had to be put down around 6…read moremonths ago. Had no interest in a replacement for her until we thought more and more about it. My wife and I have so much love for each other, we needed to share that with another dog! After all, a house with no dog is no home! We thought about getting a nice puppy, but then thought about saving a shelter dog, and that seemed like the thing we wanted to do now. Enter Robert and Yana. Saw a pure white Maltese online at their rescue that we thought could be a candidate. Drove over there and there were at least 50 dogs there, horses, and all kinds of animals! The Maltese, named Coco, as it turns out, had been a stud for making puppies at a puppy mill. Never got any love or attention. Was treated badly. Owner had actually cut his ears (still can't figure out what that nut was thinking!) He was then abandoned, chained under a house and left for dead in the hot Lancaster sun for months as he deteriorated, his fur became terribly matted, he lost almost all his teeth. Nearby people threw him scraps once in a while, but nobody cared to save him. Then somehow Robert and Yana found about this and drove out there to try to do it themselves! But Coco wouldn't come to them. They tried treats, and everything, but he wouldn't come to anyone. He was a wild dog. Then Robert thought! He brought a female dog to entice Coco, and just like that, he came out to do his life-long duty, when they grabbed him. He has had a lot of health issues, as mentioned, and a bad ear infection to boot. A lot of these things were addressed by Rob and Yana. These Incredible people do God's work, I'm telling you! I was so amazed at how they devote their lives to saving precious fur-babies like they do! We decided this dog was for us! A challenge to be sure for me, but I've always been good at teaching dogs tricks, etc. Coco is a bit rough around the edges, of course, but I feel confidant as he makes strides learning and most importantly enjoying life, with ALL the love for him and him alone! To get puppy-chinos from Starbucks, go on long walks, given the best food, doggy parks, having his own people to lay on their laps. We've had Coco for three weeks now, and you wouldn't believe the changes in him! (and how fast he has become spoiled!) Our hearts feel SO good knowing the good life we will provide him with, no matter how long he has with us in this world and we feel so good for HIM! He comes when called, is learning how to 'sit' and 'sit up', and is very loving! He is very sensitive personality. I can't imagine him being this way and still surviving everything he was up against. Robert is the nicest guy! A great guy! They set me up with all kinds of stuff. Food, treats, some medicines, and everything we needed to know about him. Leash, collar, harness, and this is just the beginning!,They care so much about what they're doing you can't help but get sucked in! Yana is such a hard worker too. Just super loving, caring, knowledgable folks! They went out of their way to help us out every way they could, and no we have a happy, sweet baby that's all ours! I don't know who got the better end of the deal! Him, or us! Thank you SO much Robert and Yana! Wishing you guys the BEST of everything in life. You deserve it!
