This is how the crust used to come when you picked the pie right from the counter

I have been a customer of theirs since 2007. I have always loved their cherry pies. However, it seems since the new ownership has started in 2023 the cherry pie crust isn't the same anymore. It used to be flaky and cooked. Below is a picture of how they used to come and another of how they come now. When I called to ask what I need to do or ask to get the crust to rise and be flaky, Samantha was not nice because I told her I didn't have access to an oven on Memorial weekend camping to cook the top more. My family advised the dough to be soggy and inedible. I told Samantha it was gross. She got upset and told me not to use the term "gross" for it. Soggy dough is gross and I am sure not going tell her it was good. She did offer to switch it out on Tues after Memorial but I was taken back by her getting upset when I merely wanted to know how to get the crust cooked like it used to be cooked. If the crust is soggy and gross then it's soggy and gross. I'm not going to sugar coat it . If you can't handle someone saying that something didn't turn out right for a 20$ pie making it gross then maybe customer service isn't your forte. I surely wasn't rude about it but it definitely made me change my mind about supporting local small business. At least yours

I absolutely love this bakery! They catered to vegan and gluten free people before the new owner took over. Now-they are 99% vegan and I love that! You can't tell the difference in taste at all! They still do gluten free which is awesome! We've been buying pies from here for holidays for years. I don't plan on stopping either! You an absolutely have to try the oatmeal cream pie! It's to die for!!

If you are in Columbus, particularly northeast of downtown, make a point to stop into Ahlemeyer Farms Bakery to pickup some tasty goodies! Not only do they have whole pies, but they sell bags of chocolate goodies (pretzels and peanuts), single slices of some of their bread (I got zucchini), a variety of cookies, and even some pasta noodles! They also carry some locally made jams on a stand inside the small interior. The server behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. She mentioned they were a bakery for 28 years, so they must be doing something right. Making delicious food is what they do! I must comment on the blackberry turnover. It was absolutely the best I've had. No skimping on fruit filling and no mess from dripping. It simply gives you a lot of flavor with each bite. They also add just a bit of sweet icing on top of the flaky pastry. I also picked up a single Zucchini bread (most and tasty, but not too spiced) and a bag of peanut clusters which were larger than most clusters I've had and with a bit more crunch to the chocolate which worked well with the peanut crunch inside. Lots to choose from so take your time and browse. Review #2066

It was spacious and there's a ton of cozy seating options, each still with a little side table, as well as several standard tables. I love that in a coffee shop. I ordered a vanilla latte and a bagel and my mom got a smoothie. All the baked goods looked delicious. While we enjoyed our visit, there were a few things that would have made it better. I didn't see the seasonal menu until after I ordered, because it seemed way of to the side. I wasn't given a plate or napkin for my bagel and it was a little hard to get someone's attention to ask where to find napkins (up by the register). It would've been great if they'd asked whether we wanted our items for here or to go. The restroom was out of toilet tissue, and when I tried to tell a staff member, they were wearing headphones so they couldn't hear me. I had to go find another to let them know. Some of the seating was quite messy and wasn't cleaned up in the amount of time we were there.

I ordered a grilled cheese along with a sugar pie slice and a London fog. They have other baked good options which looked good too. The grilled cheese was very small and I think cheese got into the pan because it was also cooked onto the bottom side of the sandwich. It was a very small grilled cheese. The London fog tasted quite strong and the sugar pie didn't really stand out. There were other items on the menu though that I'd love to try if I ever go back. What I think took this down to 3 stars was the service. When I went to order, I was just stared at and I thought maybe they weren't ready for me yet but they were. There was just no greeting of "Hi, welcome in" or even a "What can I get for you?" It was just a stare and silence. Now the staff were not unkind...they certainly seemed friendly but that lack of greeting didn't feel great. Additionally, they were very quiet or mumbled when calling out orders and so it seemed like many people listening never heard their order including me. I also had to ask again for the pie after having paid. I bought a bandana as well and didn't see the price tag. When I asked how much it was the staff member said it was either 12 or 15 dollars. She rang it up as 15 when later I saw the price tag and it clearly said $12. I showed the staff member and she said it was $15 and it was a handwriting issue for the price tag. I rarely write reviews less than five stars but I do think if there could be a bit more initiative from the staff and orders called out more clearly and louder for drinks so they don't spoil that would really help.

In fact, they won the summer "Taco Tour" the past 2 years in a row. So, we visited this past month (Dec. 2019) to check it out. The al pastor (marinated pork) taco was terrific with excellent seasoning, juicy meat and freshly-made corn tortillas (2 of course per taco). They serve the tacos with a couple of different salsas, but we enjoyed the salsa verde ordered special with our house-made tortilla chips for the starter. The chicken and steak tacos were pretty good as well, but if you eat pork, certainly order the al pastor one. The place is also a bakery, but we didn't sample any of those items. They don't have fountain drinks (so, pop or water in a can / bottle). They only have 3 - 4 tables (booths) as the place is really small. Prices were typical for the area. We visited when it was about 30 degrees outside and the place wasn't warm enough for my liking. We kept our coats on. Excellent parking in a residential neighborhood (behind "Donuts & Coffee" off State St.), and the staff were quite friendly and offered good service. I don't know if I'll dine in again, but I will certainly get "to go" orders of pork tacos (and likely other items) in the future.
