A friend and I chatted with Blinky for about 20 minutes. He broke down and explained a lot about board design. What a treat. He's been doing this so long and he's still stoked and friendly. The rest of the staff were also very friendly. Amazingly a yelper below complained because they don't have enough apparel and bikinis. How ironic is that? There are hardly any real surfboard shops left, since most shop floor rooms are covered with "apparel and bikinis", which carry higher profit margins than surfboards. That person should visit one of Socal's many fine mall surfboard shops and they'll find all the bikinis they need.

From the start, she was rude, combative, sarcastic, and unnecessarily aggressive throughout the entire process. Instead of simply helping resolve the issue professionally, I was met with attitude, condescending remarks, and an overall hostile demeanor that made the experience far more difficult than it needed to be. As a customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism -- especially from a company that prides itself on customer service and brand values. The exchange itself was straightforward, yet Maddie handled it in a way that felt confrontational and unwelcoming from beginning to end. It honestly left a terrible impression of the store and the company overall. After being a customer for nearly 30 years and a brand ambassador for this company, I truly never expected to be treated this way. If this is the type of people Patagonia chooses to employ to represent their brand, I do not believe I will be moving forward with purchasing their products in the future. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience absolutely warranted one.

When we drove by we saw the sign that notified customers that there is parking in the back, so we did. When we walked into the store there was no one to greet us. My husband took my youngest son to use the bathroom at another establishment. I have no idea if this store has a bathroom because there was no one there to ask. My oldest son stayed with me. I looked at bathing suits for about 3 minutes. After I was done looking I heard a man ask if I needed help. I told him that I was looking for a bathing suit but I did not find anything I liked. He then told me that if I wasn't going to buy anything that I needed to leave his store. I was perplexed because the reason why I was in the store was to possibly buy something. I told him this and his reply was the same, if I wasn't going to spend any money that I needed to leave and that I needed to move my car. I told him that the sign in front says that there is parking in the back to which he said again that I needed to move my car. I told him that I would gather my family and leave his establishment. I am black, so my initial instinct told me that this guy is racist. I began to get really upset but throughout the day I second guessed my instincts. I kind of told myself that this guy is just a miserable jerk. When we arrived home I checked in with my oldest son so we could discuss what happened at the store. My son said that the guy at the store said something under his breath as he passed him. The guy said "What are these type of people doing here?". My heart just sank. My instincts were right. I called the store today to speak to the manager or owner. Turns out the guy who kicked me and my son out of the store is unfortunately the owner. He said that he thought I was going to go across the street to have breakfast for a couple of hours. If I was going to have breakfast across the street, wouldn't I be across the street having breakfast? I was in his store for several minutes looking at bathing suits. My oldest son was also looking around the store for something to buy. This experience has left me really sad and hurt. He said my son is lying about what he said under his breath as he passed him. Mr. Artie Anderson (the owner) said he isn't a racist but I implore him to stop acting like one. Before you kick someone out of your store, I suggest you ask before jumping to false conclusions.

Pretty much a one man show that still believes in offering customized service to people. If he doesn't have it, he will either get it for you or direct you to the best place to pick it up. To me, that is service above & beyond. Maybe the guy bad rapping him in another review got him on a bad day. Or maybe he had someone filling in for him. I've been surfing for more than 60 years, surfed and lived all over the surfing world, and I either purchased or had Randy design boards that I'm fortunate to have in my quiver. He's a great guy, fun to be around, and Wave Front has the vibe of surf shops from back in the days when they did nothing but talk surfing and make finely crafted surfboards.
