Had a wonderful dinner here on our last night in Rome. It's close to Campo de Fiori on a quiet side street. The service was great. The homemade fresh pasta was delicious! Everything was wonderful and a perfect ending to our visit to Rome!

This charming ristorante has amazing service and great food. We had the prosciutto wrapped melon, delicious pizza, tiramisu, cherry tart, house wine, and grappa. Chef Marco and Paola our waiter, were fantastic and made us feel so welcome. Came 2 nights in a row. Loved this experience.

The lamb is phenomenal. It was the best dish I had during my entire trip in Italy...and I ate A LOT of food so that's saying something! We also ordered carpaccio, two pastas, and bruschetta, and dessert. Everything was tasty and It was just down home authentic Roman cooking. This restaurant has a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. This will definitely be my first stop whenever I come back.

My local Friend recommended this place and I went twice in 2017 and 2022. It never disappoint me. The restaurant has over 150 years history and the food are super and authentic. The house wine are so good and cheap. The pizza chief is so fun and making super pizza! The ox tail is so good and my hubby ordered the same dish the next day at another restaurant, but it is not near as good as this one and more expensive. I will definitely come back next time!

Very close to all the tourist restaurants but this one feels different. Although you can get an English menu the restaurant claims to buy all their ingredients at the market earlier in the day. Not frozen here. Ever since the first time I was in Rome 6 years ago I've been searching for the most delicious pizza again. Found it. Went twice, not a fluke. Great if you love very thin crust pizza.

Al Balestrari- Hello Rome! Visiting here from the states, we were staying very close to this restaurant. To drink liter Peroni beers (Italian beer) on draft, very refreshing and much needed after the heat wave we experienced. To eat: both pastas were delicious. Unfortunately I don't remember the specific name of the pasta. As seen in the pictures, both pastas were good, the one thing that threw me off was the egg in the pasta- simply a different touch. We unfortunately did not have the chance to eat the pizza here, but it looked delicious. Very fresh with a coal fire oven. One thing to know about the squares in Rome, just like any touristy place, prices are higher and try to attract the appetite of tourists. If you don't mind walking a little further into the streets you will find more authentic Italian food. If I could go back I would go back just for the Pizza. Great service and all staff were very

Ai Balestrari was recommended to us as a place locals eat by Max at Rex-Tours (another awesome experience). My husband and I went to try the Rome style pizza. We started with the carpaccio appetizer. It was the best thing we had eaten in Rome to that point. Amazing! Then had 2 kinds of Rome pizza. Also delicious - we loved it! Service was adequate throughout our meal. As we have found thus far in Europe, servers aren't overly friendly, like we expect in America. But they did their job and were helpful when needed. However, this all changed when, as we left, we heard from our teen son, who had remained at the hotel, more tired than hungry, but now more hungry than tired. He broke his jaw just before we left for Italy and is still extra tired and in pain. We had just left the restaurant, so went back and asked about to go pasta, and explained about his limitations (can't chew or bite - cuts it up small and swallows). They said yes, they could make us pasta to go. Then I asked about plasticware and they said no, they don't have it. BUT for our son, they would give us silverware; if we would bring it back, ok, but if we couldn't that would be ok too. Our server from dinner became very kind and caring, and even joked with us a bit as we waited. Our entire experience was wonderful, there was so much other food that passed by that smelled so heavenly we want to try it, and our server's concern and helpfulness for our son made the experience better than could be expected. And the prices were very reasonable also! We highly recommend. Can't say enough good things about Ai Balestrari!

We were recommended this place by locals and it didn't disappoint. Nice, thin crust pizzas with amazing flavor, ingredients and texture! So delicious. We had the ai balestrari, funghi and margharita pizza and it was just amazing. Just a heads up though, it can get full rather quickly so make sure to be there at 19!!

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.

He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.
