    baked lasagne = $10
    Trung N.

Our last meal before leaving Rome was here - it had okay ratings, the restaurant was situated down the street from our hotel, and the space seemed nice. The menu is expansive with extensive pizza offerings. I think our mistake when ordering was opting for topping choices that coincided with our favorite American pizza toppings - sausage, mushrooms, etc - which are not necessarily popular and or native for pizza toppings in Rome. We started off with the Caesar salad ($10 euros). The salad comes with bacon, croutons, lemon, vinegar, and a warm chopped chicken breast. Important to note that there is a thick, Caesar dressing that comes with the salad - do not toss the salad with additional olive oil. This was a great - I liked that the chicken was warm and paired with salad + salad dressing, it was exactly what I needed after 10 days of pasta. My family also shared the following: -baked lasagna ($10 euros) -focaccia buffalo and tomato pachino ($12 euros) -boscaiola ($10 euros): mozzarella, tomato, mushrooms, sausage I ordered the focaccia thinking that it would come in square pizza form, but unfortunately, it is a very toasted piece of bread topped with tomatoes and cheese. Was not great. Do not order. Our pizza was also not great - there was a lack of tomato sauce and the sausage looked undercooked. I think for our family, this was not the flavor palette we were expecting. We were looking for something that tasted a little closer to home or some semblance of it. Strega strives to do that based on their menu selection, however, it falls a little bit short. Wait staff was great. Bathroom situation was questionable.

This is the first restaurant we had dinner at while in Rome. Of course the first thing we ordered was a pizza and some wine!! Both were delicious. I am not used to the way Italians serve their meals. They bring you the pasta at first by itself and then the meat entrée, usually by itself or sometimes with a tiny bit of greenery or some vegetables. I can understand the concept but I am just not used to eating it this way. By the time I am done with the pasta, I no longer have any room for the meat. I was actually very disappointed with the all the meat selections I made every restaurant I visited in Rome. I found that it lacked flavor. Also bread was flavorless. I know most people would read this and not believe it. I am not at foodie per se. I eat when I get hungry in because I have to. I do enjoy food but, I don't necessarily go to vacation at places for the food, so I don't hold it with as high as standards as many of my other 40 foodie friends do. And even then I found it flavorless. I can't see how any foodie worth their salt would find food in Italy amazing. I am also not a pasta person, but I do have to admit the pasta that was my favorite food item in all of Italy. I liked the pizza and I loved the wine and dessert. The atmosphere was great. I loved the patio and we had a nice view of a church. Also service was great. I went inside to the restroom and there was absolutely no one in the big dining room. The bathroom was very small and messy though. Overall I had a very good experience if not stellar food.

    Liter of Peroni draft €12

Definitely try the pizzas, they are for sure traditional Roman style! Slightly charred crust, nice and very thin and crunchy! We had the Imperatore which the friendly handsome server suggested and it was great! We also tried the lasagna and it was decently good. Nice liter of draft beer all for a reasonable price. Didn't get the server's name but he was super nice and friendly and checked on us a few times to make sure we were enjoying the food! Food was missing just a touch of parmigiano cheese for those that want more of a salty taste for their palate. Otherwise it was a nice atmosphere, everyone chooses the outdoor seating as they have a big area. I will come back again for maybe two more pizzas!

Best pizza I ever had. This is the my ideal pizza from now on. Every future pizza must meet this criteria. We walked up, got nice patio seating, served rather expediently, very good Pinot Grigio.

My dad ordered the Bucatini "Amatriciana" and he said he would "order it again in a heartbeat" which is a huge compliment because he NEVER orders pasta at a restaurant. I didn't get a picture of it but it looked delicious and he said the pasta was perfectly al dente. The rest of my family and I ordered wood fired pizza and everyone finished theirs, it was so freaking delicious! I ordered #38, the Diavola and it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The crust was perfectly thin and the spicy salami was amazing. Maybe we're just easily impressed Americans, but everyone in my family was extremely satisfied with their meal!!

We came to this restaurant for dessert and an after dinner glass of wine. Once we arrived, my friend saw the menu and realized that they cater to persons with allergies. This was a HUGE win! My friend hadn't been able to eat any pizza since arriving in Rome due to her severe gluten allergy. Dinner twice?! Yes we did and her pizza was delicious! It was better than any pizza the rest of us had eaten thus far in Rome! They used soy flour in the place of the wheat flour. I ordered a chocolate torte dessert and it was delicious as well. Our service was on point, they have clean restrooms and they take credit cards. I recommend this restaurant to others and we will definitely return if ever in Rome in the future!

I give this place two stars solely for the kind service and because I enjoyed the fact that you were able to watch the chef cook the pizza. Walking into this place and it being nearly empty on a Saturday night at 6:30 PM should have been our first red flag, but we were hungry so we decided to check it out. We started with a bottle of cabernet, the server was patient and let us try the wine. When my mom responded that she didn't like it, he asked if we wanted a different bottle. However, I liked the bottle so we decided to just keep it. When it came to ordering food, we already had a weird vibe from the place so decided on just ordering some apps and seeing how those were before deciding to order entrees. Again, the server was great and had given us some recommendations. We ordered two things of bruschetta and the egg plant parmesan. Once the food came out, the eggplant parmesan was cold in the middle and the bruschetta was solely bread with tomatoes on top that tasted rotten. The eggplant parmesan wasn't terrible, it was just cold. However the bruschetta was bland and 100% not worth the money. If you're ever in Rome, do yourself a favor and skip this place. With the big sign out front it looks welcoming, but don't be fooled as it was quite an un delightful experience. Also, the bathroom was broken and there was only one stall for the ladies that would not flush.

    Margherita pizza

The Margherita pizza was amazing, the carbonara and amatriciana were great, and the saltimbocca was fabulous. Our server, Antonietta, was very attentive and kind. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food and wine. We also appreciated the low cost of bottled water (since we are from the US, we aren't used to paying for water, so the low price was appreciated.) We loved our visit here and if we find ourselves in Rome again, we will come back! (Especially for more pizza!)

We had awesome food here. I don't know why this place got less than 4 star reviews. There was great outdoor seating in an enclosed tent like area with heaters. So maybe in winter they just have inside seating? But the food was soooo good! We started with the pesto pasta and Wow was it good! Then we ordered a pizza and spaghetti with tomato sauce....again, soooo good! So it is my opinion that the food was 5 stars. Main courses are anywhere from $10-$25. Starters are pretty much $8-$12.

We came to eat dinner here during our recent trip in Rome. We found this place by chance after we got dropped off from a 3-hour bus ride from Naples. The place looked vibrant and modern from the outside as we were walking towards our hotel. We checked out the menu from the outside and thought it was a little bit pricey, but we were just glad that we saw a good place to eat still open at 10pm.. We got seated right away at the patio which has a modern decor. I am crazy about carbonara. My daughter and I ordered the rigatoni alla carbonara that night while my husband had the lasagna al forno. In my opinion, this was my favorite carbonara out of all the places I tried. The pasta was al dente, the carbonara was very good, not too saucy or too dry. The pieces of prosciutto were thicker than usual and crispy. The lasagna was also good. The sauce wasn't too tart. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive. Too bad we didn't get try any of the desserts after we finished our food. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the service was great. There was a free WiFi which was a plus for us. The seating inside was huge and their restroom was modern and clean, which is another plus for me.

By the time we were seated, dozens of people were waiting behind us. We sipped an Aperol spritz and lemonade while we waited, chatting with fellow diners who raved about the restaurant. On a sweltering day, our kids were starting to struggle in the heat when the owner came outside and gave them mini pizzas breads. It was a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Once seated, we ordered burrata, cacio e pepe, amatriciana pasta, pork chops, and fried artichokes. Everything was excellent, but the amatriciana was the standout--rich, savory, and unforgettable. The cacio e pepe was silky, the burrata fresh and creamy, the pork chops juicy, and the fried artichokes perfectly crisp. There's a reason people line up for Da Enzo. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere lively, and the hospitality remarkable. Without question, this was our best meal in Rome and one of our most memorable restaurant experiences.

The tomatoes were fresh and juicy but the burrata was a bit thick (referring to the outer aspect). Also the bread was a bit tough. The amatriciana was good, but not worth a 2 hour wait in a line, 7.5/10. Pasta was perfectly al dente, but the sauce wasn't anything to die for. I think you can get a very similar possibly better pasta in Rome without the wait. My girlfriend got the gnocchi pasta, which she said was a 7/10. The gnocchi was great, but again the sauce wasn't anything special Tiramisu, 10/10. This was amazing. It was sweet without being overpowering. The ladyfingers weren't soggy, and had that strong espresso taste. I would come back here just for this dessert. Also if you don't like cramped spaces, probably not the best spot. Many of their pizzas are quite elaborate With all sorts of exotic ingredients. I went super simple. Gorgonzola. Mozzarella. That's it. Just enough Mozzarella to cut the Gorgonzola and make for a good melt. * * * If you have never had a gorgonzola pizza, you have never lived. Just sayin'. * * * P.S. My lovely wife got a Norwegian salmon pizza. The Norwegian salmon was stacked up high on her pizza As if she was in the World Series of Poker and she was a big winner. I have never seen so much salmon on one plate. After our meal, I made a discreet phone call to the Norwegian embassy in Rome asking them if they still had any salmon left. Being new to Rome, and having walked 20k steps on our first day, there are an abundance of options a for dining. We wanted something classically Rome nearby to our hotel. The Yelp review of this restaurant was sufficiently positive to entice us. Being American, we appreciate the earlier-than-customary dining options. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is intimate and very well staffed. The wood fire oven is front-and-center and the fresh mozzarella is prominent in display. We ordered a bottle of wine ... all options are very fairly priced. This is nice. We started with a Greek salad to share. It was unlike any American Greek salad ... and a really delight. It is early June but the tomatoes and peppers were ripe and crisp and really fresh. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.
