My son had the grilled steak & fries (very reasonable priced); my husband and I shared a salad, the bruschetta and fish - Gimi (who seems quiet, but speaks perfect English) skinned the fish beautifully for us. After several days of great pizza and pasta in Venice, we decided to step it up a notch and found Ai Do Archi. We were well greeted by friendly staff and the owner came over to chat. He sold us on the two specials, which he described as monk fish and a whole sea bass for two with pasta in the middle. The sea bass was very flavorful and fresh and the monk fish was done as good as any monkfish I've ever had! We finished the night off with a delicious Italian cheesecake. Food was a nice alternative to simple pasta that was available in most of the restaurants. We could tell the owner was very passionate about his food and we thoroughly enjoyed it. read more

My wife and I visited this spot on our last night in Venice. We made a reservation online. Even though we showed up 30 minutes early, we were whisked to a small table in the back by a pleasantly charming, young waitress. We ended up ordering wine based on her recommendation, my wife did likewise for her dinner, and our waitress also kept our wine glasses filled and suggested a most wonderful desert followed with limoncello to complete our evening. The low-key atmosphere in the osteria, the fantastic food and the wonderful waitress made for a fantastic evening we won't soon forget. read more

This place is horrible. The waiter who took our order was so pushy and after we decided not to order his recommendations he clearly seem displeased with us. It ruin the start of our dining experience in Venice. Tried the risotto with seafood and it is not fantastic. Food are overpriced here and not worth the money. This is the second restaurant that we ate at, here in Venice. The food was fantastical, however, I believe that Italian like their seasoning light. So you would probably have to add your own salt. The seafood linguine that we had was very good ,they use real clam and mussels and they give you a gigantic baby shrimp lobster. The seafood is so fresh that you can taste it in your pasta. The second dish that we ordered with a sliced steak with arugula and a side of cherry tomato. The steak with done well but it was very underseasoned. They could add a little bit more salt oregano and rosemary, but that's probably just the American preference. We also finished our meal off with their tiramisu , and it was delicious. It was so bouncy and light. The coffee taste was strong just how I like it. And it was only five dollars. The service was perfect as well couldn't have asked for a better way to end the night. read more

Very friendly and nice place. It is not the kind of a restaurant where locals go. It is clean, tidy, english speaking and with the necessary portion of fun! Most important of all, it serves a great food. We had some soups, burata, the "catch of the day" as starters and took both fish, pasta and meat main coursed and all were just great. I went there with my family in the afternoon around 4pm. The place was not busy but food and service was amazing. All orders were pasta dishes. It is obvious that the pasta and sauces were very fresh. Lasagna and gnocchi to die for. The mushroom pasta plate great too. Also the seafood pasta amazing. Server helped with choices decisions despite his limited English was still very enthusiastic and helpful. I would come back to this restaurant in the future. We were led here after searching for a lunch spot in Venice our first day, and very much feel like we were victims of a tourist trap. Although our caprese salad wasn't terrible, our entrees were both very tasteless and lukewarm. Moreover, we were surrounded by all tourists who equally were having bad food pushed upon them by the host. This was our most expensive meal in Europe for the worst food we had, by far. We didn't have any reservations but unlike so many other places they were willing to seat us. The place was charming and hidden, the small outdoor patio was very romantic.
