There is some weird energy in here…read more They are like not real human beings in here and I cannot describe it, but you must see it for yourself. Not quite Stepford, but a little bit Pretty Woman "It's VERRRY expensive lady" blended with the twilight zone episode where they are actually all manniquins that come to "life" during the day. The showroom is acceptable, if you can find someone to show you around it and the parking lot is laughable. You'll be glad you have full coverage when you're trying to exit.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Santa Monica Ferguson Home showroom this afternoon…read more I had a scheduled appointment with Marinell at 3:30 PM. I arrived on time, checked in at the front desk, and was told I could browse the showroom while they let her know I had arrived. The showroom was very quiet--there were actually more sales associates than customers, with several sitting at their desks--yet no one approached me to ask if I needed help. I wasn't concerned at first since I had an appointment. After about 10 minutes, I checked back in with reception and was told Marinell was "wrapping up a phone call." I sat in the small waiting area next to the front desk. While waiting, I overheard another sales associate remark to the receptionist something along the lines of, "I don't know why Marinell does this--she knows she has an appointment and keeps chatting on the phone," which suggested this might not be an isolated occurrence. At 3:43 PM, I went back to the desk and explained that if she wasn't available by 3:45 (a reasonable 15-minute grace period), I would have to leave. I had other appointments scheduled that afternoon. I was again told she would be "right over." She never came. At 3:45, I left. This was especially frustrating because I was prepared to spend a significant amount of money on a bathroom remodel and had specifically made the appointment to start that process. With multiple sales associates present and the showroom nearly empty, it was surprising that no one stepped in to assist. The overall experience felt unprofessional and dismissive, and the atmosphere came across as somewhat indifferent to customers' time. I expected better from a showroom with Ferguson's reputation. Unfortunately, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

SCAM ALERT! Chris Voigt seems like a nice enough guy. And…read morehis website shows good work. But BUYER BEWARE! Once you pay this guy, if something goes wrong, don't expect to ever see him again. The job was to wrap seven trees in my back yard with small lights (like some people do at Christmas time, but for year-round.) Electrical was already installed from years earlier, so no wiring involved. Plus, I wanted similar lights wrapped around a patio railing in my back yard, and plugged into an electrical outlet already installed at the base of the railing, on a separate timer from the trees. The estimate came in at $2,000. I had received a lower bid from another company, but went with Chris, as I trusted him. Big mistake! On Saturday, June 27, he confirmed that he had enough wire to do the job, so we scheduled for that day. His guys came and did the job. For some reason they took the old bulbs and wire (lots of it) from a previous job, and threw it all in the green compost bin, instead of the black bin. Not a huge deal, but I told Chris to have someone come by and fetch it out, which he did. A bigger problem was that, on one of the trees, the bulbs did not go as far up the branches as we had agreed. Also, the electrical wire for the rails was run all the way across my back yard, under small landscaping stones, rather than using the outlet right next to the rails. I told Chris that day that I wanted the lights brought up to the level we agreed upon, and wanted the rail lights re-wired to the correct outlet. His answer was "not a problem," saying they didn't have enough brown wire to complete the job that day, but they'd be by later that week to finish the job. (I had already paid for it and tipped $50.) But instead of returning later in the week, Chris then texted he'd was going out of town, but would get back to me the following week. Then, the disappearing act began. I texted him again on July 13, more than two weeks after the installation. His answer was that it was a short week, but that the work would be completed Monday or Tuesday of "next week." Then nothing. I texted on Monday (July 20), asking how we were looking. No response. Three hours later, I texted again. Now he told me "Thursday." I asked him "What time?" since I had to plan to be home. No answer. Five hours later, I asked again. No answer. On Thursday, I asked him what time I should expect them. No answer. They never showed. (I had paid an assistant to stay at the house that morning, as I had to be elsewhere. Another $44.) On Friday, I texted him that I was preparing my on-line review of his company. That seemed to get his attention. He texted me that he was in Phoenix because of a death in the family and would be back on Sunday. On Monday (Aug. 3), he said they'd be returning on Thursday. I asked what time. No response. On Wednesday, I asked again about arrival time. He responded "Mid-morning" but one of his guys was sick, so they might have to reschedule. I said I'd need a confirmation by that afternoon. No response. I texted again that evening. Chris said they'd have to reschedule. Now he set it for the following Thursday, August 13, between 8 & 9AM. I texted him on Wednesday evening, telling him I was expecting his guys in the morning between 8 & 9. He texted back, saying it would be between 9:30 & 10AM. Then texted later, saying it would have to be "early the next morning" (Thursday). I texted twice the next morning (8:22 & 9:25) asking him what time they were coming. He wrote back saying he was "getting ahold of his guys." I told him if the work wasn't done that day, forget it, and the review would go up Monday night. Unlike Chris, I'm good for my word. So, here's my review: AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! Chris said the work would be completed the week of June 29, and after chasing him for the next eight weeks, all I get are excuses, broken promises, and an incomplete job. Don't let Chris' friendly demeanor fool you. He's either a con man of the first order, or simply entirely unreliable and unprofessional Either way, look elsewhere. P.S: Chris' reply below is untruthful. The job was NOT completed, as agreed. He told me the reason the lights didn't go high enough was that they ran out of wire (poor planning). The wrap on the bannister was always part of the job (on the quote: "Wrapping Railing included"), and I specifically told him NOT to run wire to the far outlet, but use the outlet right at the railing. A vague explanation of "scheduling and family issues" buys you maybe one or two broken appointments. But reading my review, I lost count at nine. He promised to be back "later that week," and two months later, I was still chasing him, and he's STILL making excuses. If he resents being called a "scam artist," he should stop acting like one. No excuses for this botch job.

It's been a long time since I've had the pleasure of working with someone who truly stands by the motto "customer knows best". I hired Elegant Outdoor Lights to install chandeliers to a 100 ft tall tree in my backyard and a smaller tree next to my driveway, as well as small "winkle" lights to the entire hedge, and several olive trees throughout my backyard and front yard. They completed the job twice only to discover that the lights given to them by the manufacturers were again, not the color I requested. His team came out a third time and did it again until the color I wanted was installed. There was no arguing on his part. He just wanted his customer to be happy with the outcome. And I am. The lights are still up held up well during wind storms, a testament, I think, to their quality work. Chris and his team are trust worthy, timely, and cost effective. They went out of their way to ensure I got exactly what I asked for. With his suggestions, the lights and my outdoor space look exactly the way I hoped they would. I will definitely hire them again.
