I've been buying at this location for over a decade since I renovated my first home in Jan 2015. I've never met Ms. Ada (wears glasses), but I walked in this morning simply to ask for help to order something online. I understand they couldn't do it, and that's fine, but the rude and snappy tone was insanely uncalled for. She also made up a LIE that a previous worker I asked for and worked with just 2 years ago hadn't been there for "over 20 years", when she herself has only been working there for 10years. She did this in front of multiple people, which is so unprofessional. I'm not sure what kind of morning she had but it was uncalled for and the most ridiculous customer service I've ever experienced. This encounter will be the end of my visits to Lamp Plus. I hope it was worth it. read more

Mercury Retrograde, an astrological (as opposed to an astronomy) phenomenon occurs about three times each year. Mercury, the messenger god goes on hiatus causing everything from tech glitches, miscommunication, travel delays, fender benders, large or small equipment breakdowns and in at least my case, a barrage of Yelp update posts which I generally do my best to keep to a minimum as the TOS states the update must reflect a new experience. OK, here's my new experience. (OK. I'm saying that a lot lately influenced by SNL's Pete Davidson's acquiescing, OK's.) So, OK, way back in 2016 Lamps Plus is where hubby and I sourced lighting needs for our condo renovation. Five star happy with all of our purchases until 2018 the awesome kitchen LED track lighting, the fixture that dimmed to a subtle night light when switched off, died. I kept hitting the switch, praying it was just the switch. OK the lights would, for a split second, work then go dark. Our electrician confirmed it was fixture malfunction. Not OK. OK, so since fixture warranty was only one year and it had now been two, hubby and I bit the bullet, consoling ourselves that we bought that fixture at a bargain price, rushed to Lamps Plus with high hope that we could replace the exact track lighting cuz we both loved it and its night light feature. No way, not OK. BUT found another, minus the night light dimmer, paid a tad more, our electrician installed and for the last two years we came to rely on its illumination. OK. 2020. You guessed it, that replacement LED fixture we'd bonded with, depended on, now out of warranty, bit the dust just as its predecessor did; same symptoms, electrician again confirmed need for replacement. OK, so back to Lamps Plus, dead fixture in hand again with great expectation this fixture could be replaced with an identical one. Not OK, no such thing. But what was OK was being immediately greeted and efficiently assisted. Hubby wanted a replacement made anywhere than where the previous fixtures were made, not possible, so while he wandered about the store I worked with our knowledgeable, upbeat lighting consultant and chose the brightest LED fixture on display. Hubby wasn't convinced it would be enough light, would throw shadows on counter work surfaces. I disagreed cuz my I can hang art without measuring intuition transitioned to lighting said so. Fixture wasn't in stock but was shipped free directly to us in less than 48-hours. I gave our lighting consultant a glowing (pun intended) review in the Lamps Plus e-mail survey. Once installed, new fixture is indeed bright if not blinding, so OK, I was right. Five Stars to me!!! Five Stars for Lamps Plus service (staff even recycled our dead fixture)! Minus one star for lack of product reliability, longevity therefore a distinct possibility we'll be back during one of 2022's Mercury retrogrades to once again replace this then out of warranty fixture... read more

The staff were very helpful and made my shopping trip more efficient. I was interested in finding incandescent table lamps and a crystal chandelier. I went in on 11.22.22 to find out why my lamp that I bought there about 6 mos ago just pooped out. A nice gal by the name of Ada greeted me and plugged it in to see what the problem was. It flickered and was not going to recover. Ada explained that these lamps have a year warranty and a nice Dave Wong went to the back and brought out a fresh lamp n/c. I have found some nice lamps here in the past. However, the last time I came here looking for something specific as a replacement for another light fixture that no longer worked. The selection in the store was very limited. I did find the customer service to be good and my sales rep was informative but he didn't have much to offer me. This is such a mish-mosh store. There are some fabulous things, some good things, some mediocre things, and some really crappy things. And the prices are all over the place. I saw a chandalier for $6,000 (yes, that's right, six thousand dollars... at Lamps Plus!!!), but I had seen almost the same one for $3,000 down at L.A. Mart design center. You really need to do your due diligence on the prices. But on the low end, they have very good deals. There is a nice selection of reproduction craftsman-type lamps, and every once in a while there is a nice hanging lamp, hidden in between a million other hanging lamps. I have been in a mood for girly chandaliers, so I was scoping those out for the bedroom. The sales people are very nice and very helpful. I have also been looking for a moorish-looking chandalier but no luck here. They share parking with Osh home/outdoor store, not bad, right on Bundy Drive a block north of Olympic. read more

I had a huge order--close to $5,000-of lights I let my architect talk me into buying . I had the lights installed and hated them once they were hanging from the ceiling. I had them taken down, repacked and returned them to Lamps Plus, fully expecting some kind of penalty or restocking charge. Instead, they graciously accepted them all back with a full refund. We ordered a lamp online. Didn't fit our decor. Returned it. No problem. Stayed to look around as there is much to see and found another lamp. Since it didn't come with the shade we wanted we purchased one separately. Louche helped us and was very nice. The purchase was delivered two days later. Talk about good service.
