If you've never gotten your lashes done, save yourself the trouble by NOT going here. I usually do not leave bad reviews for places, but my experience here was just ridiculous. Prior to my first time coming here, I read their reviews and trusted Mia to do my lashes, for she had the most positive reviews. I didn't experience any issues until I received a fill by Cindi yesterday. I thought the process of Cindi filling my lashes was strange because as she was combing through my lashes, I felt a burning sensation! Not to mention she hadn't even ask me for the length or style of my extensions. She put the tools she was using on my my forehead. Mind you, eyes are supposed to be closed throughout this process, so how am I supposed to know if they even use sanitary product. Long story short, a few hours had kicked in, and I found that my eye had been INFECTED. I texted their phone number used to schedule appointments immediately, and all they had to say was "Yeah, it's an allergic reaction." "No, we will not refund you." and "Come get a complimentary lash removal!" Well yeah, no shit I want my lashes removed. When I came in to get my lashes removed, little did they know I was Vietnamese and understood what they were saying. I had brought a friend with me and they called me dramatic in Vietnamese for bringing someone with me. "It'll only take a few minutes for it to be removed, why bring a friend," they said in Vietnamese. Well, my vision was gone from one eye. How do you expect me to DRIVE? When one of the workers removed the lashes from my eyes, she left chemical residue on my eye. She kept telling me I was able to open my eyes and make it to the restroom alone. Are you insane? I was literally telling her multiple times I could not open them, as they were BURNING. The male store owner LAUGHED in my face as I explained that I will be bringing in a lawyer. After I called him out on it, he just replied "yeah, go see a doctor." No shit, Sherlock. As a customer, you would believe they would show you how they sanitize their technician tools, right? Well, not in Lashes 101's case. They said for me to call the Board of Cosmetology (which I will). I went to my doctors, and he said it was an eye infection, not an allergic reaction. He was able to prescribe me medicine for it to heal. I will be documenting everything from my doctor. I also recorded the conversation I had at the store of Lashes 101--how they laughed, refused to pay for my medical expenses (I don't have insurance), and refused to show me their sanitation process. In no where in their contract says anything about not being able to reimburse a customer to get their eyes checked or to show them the sanitation process. Mia did my lashes and they are beautiful. It's been several days, I've had minimal fall out and they are soft. In my opinion they're a bit more dramatic so if you want the natural look then this isn't the place. BUT if you do want a Lil drama in your life and like to speak with your eyes...try her out! She was so quick and gentle I passed out. I still use my under eye cream, still shower/wash my face, etc. Yes they require tip, if you can afford to just pay $120 in total for lashes, then maybe reassess your spending capabilities. The woman who did my lashes was so fast. I had an appointment at 5pm and got there at 450pm and was taken in right away. I was out the door by 6:16pm (this included time to sit under the fan to let the glue dry) It's a room with beds lined together so there it is not a private room for each customer (in case that's an issue for some) When choosing my length she showed me the tray of different lashes. I did NOT want a cat eye and explained that directly and she did just that. The price was great. I was a first time customer, paid in cash total: $110. ($20 tip) Overall, I loved my lashes! I've had memberships elsewhere before that were just inconsistent work AND pricey. Lashes 101 does the job, saves money and time. Came here to add more lashes/refill. I was charged $60 but my lashes were only done a week ago. I looked back on the pricing and it was supposed to be $40. On another note, I wanted my lashes to be the same length as my previous lashes. I even asked her if it's the same length and she said yes. When I opened my eyes and really looked at my lashes, the new refill was significantly longer. Only come here if you want long, voluminous lashes. The entire process was painless and actually so relaxing that I fell asleep LOL. I asked for something a little more voluminous, and I'm really pleased with how they look, though I might choose something a little longer next time. Disappointed!! I've been coming to lashes 101 faithfully for about a year now. I first found this company in Gardena which was a nice location after I moved I found them again in Orange County.. I was uncertain about this location on Brookhurst for a while every time I would visit I noticed that NO ONE WOULD WASH THEIR HANDS in-between clients but just use hand sanitizer which would leave my eyes irritated EVERY-TIME and they seem to use the SAME TWEEZERS ON EVERYONE without sterilizing The other day when I visited, there was a woman at the desk with swollen irritated eye FROM HER PREVIOUS APPOINTMENT WITH THEM, I payed it little mind proceeded to get my lashes done by Van who was very rough, glued most of the lashes to my BOTTOM LID, pinched my eyelids with tweezers so clumsy, she made my experience horrible ON TOP OF THAT MY LASHES LOOK HORRIBLE!! Lashes are my forte and for the past couple years where I've been wearing makeup, I would have to get up early and do my face and glue on lashes which is extremely time-consuming especially when some of my days tend to start early. After months of research and testimonials from one of my friends who got her eyelashes done, I decided to try out the extensions. I found Lashify on Instagram and I was very impressed by how pretty the work was so I made an appointment with Mia because the lashes she did on a customer was what I wanted. Making an appointment was super simple and Alanis responded very quick. Lashify is a small room within Sola Salons and can help 2 girls at a time and is cash only! There is seating outside the room as well. I was 5 minutes late which never happens because I am generally a punctual person however when I notified Alanis, she was accommodating and didn't cancel on me and scold me like other technicians I heard about. Mia was already prepared when I came in so I quickly got onto the spa bed and she got right to work. She placed a moist white sheet on top of my bottom lashes to keep it out of place and the whole process took about 65 minutes. Aftercare procedures are texted to you afterwards then you're all set to go and show off your new lashes! Just some tips to keep in mind: - GET READY TO COMMIT! Getting lashes is high maintenance and you must be ready to protect and take care of your lashes through all sorts of events. - Don't wear contacts! After all, you are keeping your eyes closed for a very long time and in rare cases where you are allergic to the lash glue, it could be a serious problem for your eyes especially if you also got contacts on. Overall, getting lashes completely changed my life and it's so nice to wake up and not have to spend a lot of time getting ready. You don't even need to put on eyeliner! The only downside is taking off your makeup, but it got easier for me as time went on. I'm coming back for a fill tomorrow and taking a cousin along too because she wants them now! If you're a busy girl and you just want to wake up looking flawless, go to Lashify! All the girls are amazing :) read more
