I called Vivian and she immediately booked me for the next day at her earliest convenience. Upon arrival, I have no prior knowledge of lashes but luckily Vivian guided me through the process. She made me feel very comfortable and created a relaxing atmosphere. The process took about an hour and a half. She was very cordial and we had a great conversation :) plus she had great music playing in the background. She was gentle, caring, and fast! The results were AMAZING! I came all the way to OC from LA to get my lashes done by Vivian because I had supposedly seen great reviews and her work looked really appealing to me. Fast forward -, the moment I arrived, she did not smile a single bit and she was very unwelcoming. She just opened the door, led me to her room and didn't say a single thing except a "Hello". Even when I came inside the room, she did not speak a single word. I understand that she might have been tired, but I believe that it's common courtesy to be nice and welcoming to your first time clients, right? When I first got my volume lashes done, I was in love with them - full, voluminous and wispy - so much that I came back for fills. However, after getting my fills done, I noticed that they weren't really volume lashes - it seemed like she put in single, mink lashes into each lash and they were glued together. I could see the glue from when I open my eyes, and it just wasn't appealing at all to me. It was very different from how it was in the beginning when I first got them done by her. When I got them fixed by another lash artist, she told me that another client had actually come from Vivian with the same issue. (*Picture attached.) I understand that this could be just her style and technique of the thin volume lashes... but really though, is this what you want to be spending money on? Furthermore, when I told her what I wanted for my fills to look like (I wanted them more doll-eye), she looked at me and laughed it off like she knew that I didn't know what I was talking about. She just kept reiterating, "You know it's going to look like ____, right?" and at that point, I just let her do it her way so that I would not be bothered by the way she was speaking to me. This was my first time with Vivian for a full set. I made an appointment with Vivian over text message and she was quick to reply. I am very specific with my lashes and I have been trying out a couple of different spots. Vivian is very detailed and thorough. I asked for volume lashes with a little flare at the sides and she 100% delivered! She's super sweet and will accommodate with your requests. The only thing though was that my eyes were a little bit red and dry for about 2 days after. It was the bottom half of my lashes and it was just a little sensitive to the gel pads that go under your eyes. But I reached out to Viviane and she reassured that it was just probably a little dry and sensitive from the pads and that she recommended to use eye drops to help. That did help with the redness. I recently made an impulsive decision (after an 8 month extension free sabbatical) and had my local nail salon throw on a full set for $42. The old adage you get what you pay for certainly held true. I was super bummed; and spent the next 10 days wishing I hadn't made such a stupid decision. Yesterday, as I headed into the weekend, I was over it and decided (impulsively) that they needed to be redone--At. That. Moment. I scoured Yelp, and called and called only to be told over and over there was no availability. I finally gave up when low and behold I got a text from Vivian who I called earlier--she had an opening! I jumped on it, and I'm so grateful I did. If you've read the reviews, she's not warm and fuzzy. She is, however, really darn good at her job. I can assure you I'd rather have someone who goes above and beyond to accommodate a last minute booking for a first time client and makes sure I leave feeling like a million bucks than simply a conversationalist. I talk to people all day long; silence is underrated :) As far as my lashes, she basically told me that to truly fix my problem (which was I had anywhere from 2-4 natural lashes glued to each individual, wayyyy too long extension) that I'd have to forgo a fill and opt for a removal and new set. Cost: $130. I agreed and she went to work. She removed the entire set, and it was 100% pain free. She discussed my preferred length, and spent a really long time applying each side. I could tell she was very meticulous with each lash. The entire process took about an hour and a half, and when it was over I was able to open my eyes with almost no burn at all. That never happens. Moral of the story? She's got a satisfied customer.
