Abraham has been kind enough to cut me a half loaf when I don't want a whole loaf that I might not finish by my next visit, and lately I have been favoring his plain spelt bread which has a sturdy flavor that is perfect for my open face lunch sandwiches. Today though I was looking for tortillas to use up some leftover chicken with and was delighted to find a packet of six, also made from spelt, at his stand, they can be frozen for future use. The spelt tortilla I steamed tonight had an earthy texture and a richness that beats just about any of the usual corn or flour ones from your typical Mexican eatery. Chapelboro residents are lucky to have Box Turtle in the community.

I was lucky enough to get regular weekly bread deliveries from Box Turtle Bakery for awhile there…read more I happened to be on Abraham's weekly route, so it worked out. Now I'll have to actually venture out to Carrboro's Farmer's Market or South Estes Farmer's Market to get his home baked breads and treats. And when I say home baked, I mean literally baked in the special custom designed wood burning bread baking oven attached to the home bakery in his house. Abraham's philosophy is to work closely with local farmers and use fresh milled organic and local grains for his breads and other baked goods where ever possible. Of course, he sells locally too. If you can't get to him at the farmer's markets, you can always work out a time to pick up your order at the Bakery itself. What can I say? You have to work for it a bit, but it sure is worth it. Oh, and just to trip you up, expect some variety! Abraham likes to try new and different recipes and there's something interesting to sink your teeth into and wake up your taste buds just about every week. Disclaimer: I count Abraham as a friend so, yes, I'm pretty excited about what he's doing. But, come on... this isn't some spongy boring white bread with dubious nutritional value we're talking about. This is SERIOUS BREAD! Don't even tell me your mouth isn't watering right now. Mine sure is!

I hadn't known about this place until I happened upon it this past weekend, and, wow! What a pleasant surprise for a pizza joint located in one of the most inconspicuous places in Carrboro - the Willow Creek shopping center - and without any advertising that I can think of ever seeing. I ordered a large Sweet Carolina to try out what these guys are offering, and I actually want to go back very soon for another. I'm not usually like this with pizza, but this place does it right; the dough is a notable stand-out, far and away the best in the Triangle that I've tried, and that's saying a lot. This word is so overused and tired these days, but the pizza actually appeared "artisan" - carefully crafted by hand and the toppings were very fresh and evenly distributed -- totally not what I expected, and for a very inexpensive $12.99! What? Exactly. Maybe I caught them on a slow day, but my Big Three with pizza (Taste, Texture, Appearance) passed with flying colors here. And the guys working the counter and kitchen were friendly, courteous, and generally appreciative of my business, which is also nice to see. Two thumbs up from me! I hope these guys stay in business and keep making fantastic pizza at these refreshingly low prices for the combination of quality and flavor that they provide. read more

My family and I eat pizza every Friday. After moving to Carrboro in July, we began getting our weekly pizza fix from Papa Johns. It wasn't up to the standards that we were used to. I was hesitant, but decided to give Aidens Pizza a try. Wow! I am glad I did. I have eaten pizza everywhere from Italy to N.Y, and Aidens pizza is by far the best I have ever had! The flavor and quality of ingredients is superior to any other pizza chain. I have never been a crust eater; however, this crust is a soft yummy goodness with a hint of garlic. After two visits, the pizza and customer service is awesome. We have found a new family tradition. If you like pizza, then you will be pleasantly surprised with Aiden's. Fast and friendly service. Great deals that are comparable to big chains (which is helpful when you are feeding a big crowd). Even though we are within Chapel Hill City limits, I have a hard time getting delivery to come out (we are 7 miles from downtown Carrboro). The few places that do (Tarheel Takeout) can take an hour or more and the food is luke-warm by the time they arrive. Aidan's quoted me 30 minutes, arrived in 20, and the pizzas were piping hot. 6 teens devoured 4 pizzas in a matter of minutes, and now I know to order more next time! The crust is very good- not too dry or chewy and with a nice touch of garlic. The Greek Goddess is excellent- fresh spinach and tomatoes. I will definitely be ordering from them again, as my kids have friends over every week and pizza is a staple for our gatherings. The delivery guy was very friendly and professional. read more

We like it! Hey Mikey he likes it! I often find myself stopping by here to grab a few pizzas to take home because I love the hero status it gives me. I like the Sunset Hawaiian pizza a little more than a friend. Bbq and pineapple, who would have thought. My wife goes for the Greek goddess and my daughter keeps it simple with cheese pizza. Both are very good that I've brought the leftovers to work to eat at lunch. Probably my favorite is the Philly cheesesteak pizza. Two great tastes that taste great together. I've never seen this style of pizza before but I dig it. It's the best of both worlds. I haven't tried delivery yet because then I wouldn't get any credit for delivering it myself. read more

My fiance and I found out about Aidan's Pizza through Reddit. We had grown tired of the other pizza places around town and decided to give them a shot. Never again will we go anywhere else. Aidan's Pizza is delicious both fresh and as leftovers. It always looks amazing when we come to pick it up. Aidan's Pizza is the only pizza place that we have consistently gone to. The three main components that made the hot dog here great generally remain - great chili, soft buns, and Zack's made in house hot sauce. The dogs on this visit were very good, but I will get them to go in the future.

"Hello, how are you?" When you come in the door, and they were not in the back like most stores I have gone to. Great store! 5/5 would recommend you stopping here for a great sub!
