This is definitely a hole in the wall type of restaurant tucked in Waikiki on the 2nd floor. Let me start off by saying the employees were all so amazing, caring & friendly. Mother's Day dinner, 14 people. The biggest star tonight that saved this establishment and gained 4 stars in my opinion was...the service. I am always inclined to give a better rating when service is good because service is almost everything to me. I feel whether you give good service or not is all your choice. I cannot remember the ounces and pounds but the amount was good. But the wagyu was overdone. I requested medium rare and what I got was ¾ well and ¼ pink. Everyone, meaning everyone's steak was overdone. I would skip the wagyu because If I wasn't told that my steak was wagyu, I would never have known and I have tasted good, melt in your mouth wagyu before. My family likes to see red in their steak not pink but red like blood. My crab legs were dry. Not dry-dry but dry enough that I had to use the drawn butter and I normally do not eat crab legs with butter because when we have crab legs at home it is juicy and that's all crab legs need, to be juicy, in order to taste it's sweetness. The other side of the table ordered 2 ultimate seafood platters. They told me that the lobsters and shrimp were rubbery. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now when the restaurant got smokey enough to where they had to open windows, what I observed was the fire at the grill was high reaching the hood. One person was grilling and another person was...fanning the flames!!! That does not reduce flaming and does the opposite! Anyone who knows how to grill understands that introducing more oxygen feeds fire. Omg.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, anyone that knows how to cook seafood knows that all seafood has the potential to dry and get rubbery if cooked too long. It makes mere minutes to cook seafood. Please, please, retrain. If it wasn't for overdone steak and rubbery seafood I would have given 10 stars because the service is excellent so don't ever change that. Price wise, yes, definitely expensive. We paid $1900 which included proper tip. For that price...I mean... So no, this establishment is not at the caliber of let's say Stripsteak or Hy's, although the price point is. I shouldn't have to say, "hey if you go to Aina S&S make sure that if you want medium rare that they get you". For the price you pay they should just know. I mean if you like your steak done medium-well to well, then you'll love the steak. Idk who would want rubbery lobster though. But the awesome service, yah, you got me there 100%...1000%! 2 Parking areas in the back. The cheap parking is the big parking so heading east on Kuhio, right after Ritz Carlton turn right like you're going to the back side of the Ritz and it's there, although it's hard to tell. I mean just turn right when you see the P cause I missed it the first time. And then there's the other small parking lot on the other side of the fence, parking is separated. It's smaller and seems sketch but I parked there twice before and had no problem. For 3 hours it was $22 and some change. For that parking lot you head east on Kalakaua, turn left on Lewers and take the first left, yeah kinda sketch looking and small and expensive but it's close parking. Hope everyone else has a 5 star experience cause if they cook the steaks better and cook seafood shorter it will be good and I may try again. We came here for my husband's birthday. They had such great reviews online and we thought awesome! Made reservations online through yelp, and had to change the time. They are located on Lewers upstairs of the other food places. Once you get upstairs they need to open the door for you from the inside. The interior was very very red. When we got to the restaurant there was NO ONE else. With that being said the people kept coming up to us every 5 seconds and annoying us with the same question by different people. The menu is very small and doesn't have much choices. The owner eventually came up to us telling we should get the dry aged 33 oz bone in ribeye. Also the menu says that it can feed 2-3 people. That is a LIEE!!! My husband could have ate it himself. It was weird that the steak came out cut. We have been to our fair share of steakhouses and they have never cut our steak. And for some reason they cooked one side of the steak once it was cut?? So the steak pieces were close to well done not even close to medium rare. AND they don't even provide a steak knife they only gave a BUTTER KNIFE!! What in the world is up with this restaurant. And the owner comes out and says "so soft don't even need steak knife". I don't care give me a damn steak knife. Before that my husband was still picking at the salad they gave us and one of the other ladies asked if we were done and he said no and the lady goes "I'm not going to steal your salad haha". What was pissed me off was my stomach was a little sore that night so I wasn't eating too much and our initial server lady who had cigarette breath tells me I need to eat more because I'm too skinny. Our server was Will and he was so attentive and knowledgeable. He provided us with great recommendations and also was very sweet. We did not catch Chef's name, but he did come out to greet us at the end of the meal. Speaking of the meal - what a fantastic dinner. We ordered a half dozen oysters and the fried calamari to start. The calamari was perfect - it was not over battered or breaded and the texture was 10/10. It was also not greasy at all. The oysters were a generous size and Will brought us out horseradish to enjoy with the cocktails sauce. Our steak - 10/10. It came with loaded mashed potatoes and a fresh dinner salad with a choice of three dressings - we chose spicy mango and Lilikoi papaya. They were both delicious. The problem is that the steak itself didn't have much flavor. It wasn't dry, but it also wasn't particularly juicy or well-seasoned. The assorted salts were a nice touch, and the side of wasabi for the steak was unexpected but actually worked really well The calamari and shrimp cocktail? Fine. Nothing that would bring me back. The salad? There was a salad. That's about all there is to say. Nothing stood out, which is probably why the place was nearly empty. One other table in the entire restaurant, which says a lot. We got to try both the strawberry and mango dressings and the strawberry was good but the mango was AMAZING. We also ended up putting some of that dressing on the crab cake and it paired so well. We ordered the bone in ribeye and it was cooked perfectly and was served with 3 types of salt - wasabi, rosemary, and yuzu. There was a subtle different in the flavor and I loved that you can season it to your preference. The sides were all good and I especially loved the mashed potatoes. The sizing of the sides are shareable for maybe 2 people, but for 3 or more people, I would order extra. The dessert was also amazing. They had a lilikoi crème brûlée which was so good - it had the flavor of lilikoi but it was on the sweeter side instead of tart. The chocolate cake was also so good - not overly sweet. We went on a Saturday and were able to get seated right away, but they're also on opentable if you want to make a reservation. It came with three types of salt (wasabi, yuzu, and a purple one, which I don't remember the name of hehe), but it was all so delicious and a fun experience. The steaks are not buttered so you really taste the flavor of the 30 day aged meat. The truffle mashed was so full of truffle flavor! Honestly, the best mashed I've had. My cousin who got married the day we dined called ahead and the owner answered and promised her a beautiful dinner and set up and he definitely came through. His staff even redecorated the cake my cousin got from the wedding services she aid for. The food was good but I definitely have a different idea on how steak is prepared and served. Not saying this is wrong because it isn't, it's just different from what I am use to at most steak houses. The salts provided with the meals are really good and do add a lot of flavor to the meats served. The side dishes are really good so no issues there. I also ordered calamari and it was very good. I personally think there is room for more items to amplify the intake of customers. Like adding a few more dishes (salmon/rock cod, a pasta and possibly a vegetarian option) and some other appetizers as there was only one non seafood option. I would recommend a dip like spinach or artichoke or maybe deviled eggs. I also think the desert selection could use like a pineapple upside down cake option. I understand more item means more stock of ingredients but I definitely think it would help bring more customers in. Tucked away in the many streets of Waikiki, it's the upstairs of a small building. Parking, there's a small lot behind the restaurant but at 5:50pm it was completely full. Cute little restaurant, was empty when we arrived. Usually not a good sign. Service was great, very nice people and you can really feel how much they care and want us to enjoy the experience. Ordered the half dozen oysters, calamari, the 20oz porterhouse and a 1lb lobster tail. Oysters were good, very fresh tasting (though small). Calamari was good too, it was exactly like the one from genki sushi haha. But I love those so not a problem. I just wish it had some sort of crisp to it. They brought out salads too, which was a strawberry and something else dressing with crisps and blueberries. It was a really good salad. The porterhouse was EXTREMELY bland. They provide three different types of salt on the side for it, but the steak itself was as if they just put an unseasoned steak on the grill. I also despite that it was grilled because the grill marks made so much of each bite taste burnt and some parts just overly crispy vs the soft bite of steak. Even with the salt on the side, it wasn't pleasant. The lobster tail was huge, but also extremely bland. There was butter on the side but that was also extremely bland. Very disappointing. The appetizers were so good that the main course completely threw us off. The steak and lobster were so bad but everything else about the experience was amazing. Steak was done perfect and the service was excellent. My husband thought it was one of the best steaks he has eaten out.

If you like bland undercooked food, this place is for you. We started by ordering a half dozen Oysters. They seemed to be fresh, so no complaints. I ordered a New York strip, medium rare. It comes with a salad and mashed potatoes. There were three dressings. Strawberry, mango or passion fruit. I am not a big fan of sweet salad, nor is my wife. She had the passion fruit and I had the strawberry. Neither of us could finish the salad because they were so sweet and drenched in dressing. Next came the entrees. My steak, and my wife's snow crab came in one long piece of wood/cutting board. It was really stupid, it was too long to go horizontal between us and super awkward. They give you a little plate that wasn't even big enough to fit the steak onto. I ordered my steak medium rare, it came out looking like tuna sashimi. They do not add any seasoning to the steak whatsoever. I could only taste char on the outside and nothing else. I tried the mashed potatoes, and they were also bland. There was no seasoning added to the potatoes and they were bland too. At this point I was pretty upset. I showed the waiter the steak, and he agreed it was totally rare. I just told him I wasn't interested in eating it anymore. They did take the steak off the final bill, but it was still 150 (had a beer and a sake as well). I would not come back here or ever recommend this place to anyone. Not sure how it has a 4 star review. read more

Truly a gem! Everything was delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got a nice quiet table in the corner overlooking the outside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the food was yum! I had gotten rib eye caps and oh soooo tender!!!! And it had that char crispness that u can get only from on open flame! Loaded orators were on hit! Highly recommended!! I'm not sure if it was the owner that waited on us but he was super cool and attentive to us and not in a bug a boo way. Will come back again!! Oh and a side note, the lilikoi dressing for my salad was out of this world delicious! And the wasabi salt was amazing! read more

In my opinion the king crab was overcooked and not hot at all. All the sides came out before the steak and became room temperature by the time steak came. The price for everything is way too overpriced for the quality and order it came. I don't mind spending 1000 dollars on great and amazing food quality and taste. This is not a place my family and I would return to. The service isn't what you'd expect from such a high priced place. The tables and seating need work and it's hot it should be cool I shouldn't get hot or sweaty. read more
