Nice date kinda place -oysters were fresh - salad was good - butterfish was cooked perfectly mushrooms were a bit salty - but love the vibe there!

Great place for HH - inside has a nice ambiance with plenty of seating at the bar, main dining and outdoor. Got the steak, brusselsprouts and octopus, daiquiri. Service was on point and it's one we've been back to time and time again. With a lot of competition in Waikiki, I often prefer small family run businesses.

My husband and I did not have Valentine's day reservations so we're so excited that we were able to grab a table here for dinner! From the hostess to our main server, service was outstanding. And our food as well. We ordered crab legs and fish of the day. To add the ambience was magical and so perfect for a romantic Valentine's evening.

First of all, the ambiance of this place is SUPER cute & aesthetic. We came here for a Galentine's Day brunch and it was such a great spot. To save you time walking around and down a weird alley (I did it for you), the restaurant is on the 3rd floor of the International Marketplace. Google Maps makes it look like it's just off the international marketplace behind Basalt. Just go to the 3rd floor and the signs will tell you where to go :) Our server, Jacob, was great, and definitely took care of us girlies very well. They will add on gratuity for parties over 6. I got the eggs Benedict, and when I read the description, I saw hash browns, but I didn't expect the Benedict to be ON the hash browns. But that's okay, just wasn't what I expected. The eggs Benedict was fine, a bit salty, but pretty good. I think the ikura garnished on top was nice. My friend also got the braised beef loco moco (which I was also interested in), and she had to ask for more gravy because it definitely was NOT enough. Idk, I'm giving this place a 4 because the food wasn't worth the price to me. Overall, it's a cute place for a date night and a night out with the gals, for sure.

I've had this placed bookmarked for a while and always wanted to try it but overlooked it since it was in Waikiki and we don't want to deal with the crowds. The restaurant itself is very spacious. We made a reservation for a party of 2 but there were plenty of tables available. Our server was really attentive and constantly checked on us and filled our water. I really wanted to love this place but we most likely won't return on our own. We ordered a variety of dishes but nothing really stood out for us that makes us want to go back. Washyu hot stone - marinated thinly sliced beef on hot stone. This was a perfect little bite to start and was entertaining cooking on a hot stone. Brussels sprouts - roasted with a vinegrette sauce, my fave dish of the night! It could have been a bit crispier but it's understandable since the dressing makes it kinda soggy. Gochujang octopus - tender and grilled perfectly with mixed veggies. I usually do like gochujang but felt the sauce overpowered the taste of everything else. Washugyu coulotte steak - the steak was nicely seasoned and came with a side of truffle salt and chimichurri sauce but it came out at room temperature and was a bit dry. Lobster roll - we should've read the menu more carefully or looked at reviews before ordering it because we were expecting it to be served hot. Instead, it was actually more like a lobster salad as it was served cold with mayo. Overall, it's a decent place to check out and might be better to come for their happy hour. For the price we paid, we didn't leave fully satisfied.

I was a little weary after seeing that recent reviews were not so good. But my husband's company took us there for a nice casual meal. The service was really wonderful. Our server was attentive and kind. The food was really good. I wouldn't say outstanding but decent and delicious. I ordered furikake fries which I wish had come before my meal but they were served at the same time which made no difference as the fries were very good! I think it would have gone nicely with my beer but nevertheless it was still very good. My husband ordered the butterfish and I had mushroom risotto. He was a little disappointed that the meal came without a starch but he enjoyed it and ate some of my risotto and fries while enjoying the butterfish. I liked the mushroom risotto but wished it had a little more mushrooms as it was a super heavy risotto. All in all it was a very pleasant meal! The open patio was a nice ambiance. We had a long table for 9 people and there was entertainment in the shopping center so at times it was a little difficult hearing all conversations across the table. But if I were in Waikiki again, I'd definitely stop for pupus and a drink!

So amazing we re-visited two days later. Wonderful again. What a gem. Excited to share our experiences with locals. Delicious and great service once again from Jenner and Jacob. Wow--what a Happy Hour find!!! So fortunate to wander around on Christmas find Herrerangbone. The five venues we visited prior to this stop didn't offer a Happy Hour on a major holiday. Service was amazing, thank you Jacob. The HH cocktails and wine were stellar. (Manhattan was fantastic, ordered two.) We went a bit crazy on the HH starters, what a great selection. Great flavors. This is a real gem, highly recommend. We'll revisit soon!

We came to Hawaii looking for crab--not the heavy Cajun kind. Just the clean umami of the ocean. We skipped the buffets. Quality over quantity. Herringbone sits on the 3rd floor of International Market Place, lifted above the noise of Waikīkī. Calm, beautiful, and well designed. The first night, we missed happy hour. No problem. We started at the raw bar. Snow crab claw cocktail and lobster cocktail. The snow crab was exactly what we wanted--juicy, sweet, clean. A dozen claws hit the spot without feeling heavy. We also ordered the Miyazaki beef, served on a hot plate for you to sear yourself. It's quietly entertaining. The beef is rich and aromatic, best enjoyed in small bites. Not a main, but a great way to wake up your appetite. For mains, I went with the surf and turf. The braised beef melted into its sauce and mashed potatoes--deep, comforting flavors. The tiger prawns were solid. This dish is a heavy hitter, and I ended the night there. The next day, I came back just for the snow crab claws. Tried the lobster roll this time--balanced and well done. Nothing overworked. The whole experience felt peaceful. A seafood joyride without overload. Service was attentive, the space inviting. It feels like a step away from the crowd below. Next time, I'll sit at the bar. I still need to try that lychee martini. If you're in Waikīkī and want seafood done with restraint and care, this place is worth your time.

I've been lucky to experience this restaurant over many visits over the years and the consistency, service and vibes are always 100% amazing. Full of aloha and spirit. There used to be a location in SoCal and I was bummed when it closed but great to get these hip nautical vibes when I visit the island. Fun and casual with great music (sometimes live!) and one of the best happy hours on the island. Available every day from 4-6pm and after 9 until close. Some of my favorites other than the oysters of course... the hot stone wagyushu, torsgashi fries and the octopus! Everything is good. For drinks gotta go with the Aoki Manhattan. Located conveniently on the top floor of the International Marketplace next to Moani and across from Liliha Bakery.

We went to the happy hour and unfortunately it was a disappointment. The service was great and the restaurant itself looked nice, but the food portions were surprisingly small compared to other happy hours in town. I was shocked to see just one taco on a plate for $8 and a single slider for $13 - I expected at least two of each. The quality was mediocre at best, and the cocktails were overly sweet and weak. I usually try a restaurant's happy hour as a way to decide if I'd come back for dinner, but sadly, that won't be the case here.

    Karen C.

100% come here for happy hour! $3 oysters, great drink deals, and the best service from Mia! I love the lights and greenery. The open air dining provides an outside vibe but cool airy feel. We had the oysters, fish tacos (get 2), Pulehu Steak, and Brussels. Seriously the best happy hour menu in town!

We went to Herringbone Waikiki for happy hour and also celebrate our anniversary. There was no wait for a table and we didn't have reservations. Josiah was our attentive server. I had the Berry Good Time while Hubby had the Peach Daiquiri. The drinks were well balanced. Then, we shared a dozen Wildcat West Coast Oysters, Gochujang Octopus, Island Chopped Salad, Hamachi Crudo, and Hot Stone Washugyu. Everything was delicious! The oysters were creamy. We particularly enjoyed the hamachi crudo and ordered another one. We ended with the Pandan Dome dessert. It was an interesting sweet ending. Highly recommend this happy hour if you're in Waikiki.

Ask the Community - Herringbone Waikiki

    Happy Hours time?

According to their website, 4pm - 6pm and 9pm - close daily (bar and lounge only).

Do they still serve mochi pancakes and are they gluten-free?

Can I come for the $3 oysters/happy hour and also order from the dinner menu or can I only order from the happy hour menu?

Yes, I ordered from happy hour and the regular dinner menu.

    Do they do bottomless mimosas?

    No. I don't think so.

Is there an email contact to make large party reservations?

I visited Herringbone Waikiki with my partner, no res, so I can't answer for large groups from experience.…

How do I make reservation? No online booking and call got disconnected

I did mine with Open Table, but I've also had luck with no RSVP too and we were seated immediately! Of course weekends busier than weekdays. It's also a large venue so lots of seating.

Tried many times to make a reservation but only times are always after 8? Is it possible to make a reservation before that time? Even weeks out nothing

Do you have a large party? The few times we have gone we just walked in and we're able to get seated. Once even on a Friday at about 6pm. But we are only a party of 4.

How do I get a hold of this restaurant?

    Use your hands.

I've been trying to call them from numerous phones, I've emailed them and sent facebook messages, I've even filled out the private party inquiry deal online. I just need to make a reservation for 12 people which I can't do online. Any other contact?

    Yeah stop by in person.

I've been trying to call Herringbone but the call won't go through. Anyone know a good number or how I can confirm my reservation?

I made my reservations online. The best way. use Taogroup.com and make sure you select the Waikiki location

Phone is down and reservation system is down? Please update when fixed.

Okay don't hold your breath though.

I have been trying to call Hereingbone for several days and the phone is not working. Is this place still in business?

This place is still in business. Not sure what's wrong with their phone, I had the same problem!

I need to make a reservation for May 28th at 7pm, it's a big party of 20 people? Where do I go since I couldn't make it on the app cause of the size of the party. Please help

    Pick up a phone.

    Are bottomless mimosas back? :-)

There is no indication from Herringbone's website or the Brunch menu that bottomless mimosas are offered. I suggest calling the restaurant to find out.

Is happy hour on the weekends as well?

    No.

Do they accept reservations for happy hour?

    Yes.

Does anyone know who to contact for large group inquiries or private events? No one responds on the website or social media and i know they've opened.

Hi Margarita! For private events, please email waikiki@herringboneeats.com or please fill out this…

Did they close permanently? Their phone is disconnected.

    Sure.

    Is this restraunt open?

Hello Rick- Thank you for your interest in our Herringbone Waikiki location.…

Will you guys be taking reservations for brunch this weekend?

Hi - Currently our Herringbone Waikiki restaurant is still temporarily closed but please watch our social media pages for updates on when we might be re-opening. Mahalo

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

It's something spritz, and my husband tried the banana bread old fashioned) and we shared the appetizer platter (brussel sprouts with pork belly, kalua pork egg rolls, poke tacos, and edamame)to share. We also ordered the garlic shrimp dumplings. Everything was super tasty. Lots of other items on the menu that I want to try during another visit to the island.

Stressful from the start…read more I called to inquire about parking a week prior to my rsv and was told they were sold out for the night. I mentioned that it was just a general question and i wasn't coming that night. They informed me that it's validated for two hours and it's first come first serve. After the 2 hours its $14 an hour. Getting into the valet area was stressful enough as there was a car parked right before you turn and pedestrians that walk back and forth from their main driveway entrance. I also had to wait for valet for a bit too as there was 2 other cars in front of me and probably only 2 valet on duty trying to move cars forward. Reservations can be made on open table, but there was really no point to doing that since it's open seating during happy hour times. We ended up just picking a table that was in the shade, and noticed they only have their menu by QR code which is kinda annoying. The server was pretty nice tho and he brought my dog some water mid way. Their happy hour runs from 2-6 and the menu is slightly less expensive. The food was kind of standard hotel type of food and nothing really stood out. Otherwise the vibes at the restaurant was nice and i do like that they allow dogs to join you. it seems like they have live music after a certain time. I was even more annoyed and stressed with the valet when i went to pick up my car. They literally just handed me my keys. My car was parked along the wall probably 20 steps away, but they could have at least taken out my car cause it was so hard to get out, but i guess it's nice they trust that i wont bang the car in front of back of me i guess even tho im a pretty terrible parker. at the time they didn't look as busy as when i first arrived, so i dont know why they couldn't have just done the bare minimum with just pulling out my car from the stall.

What we thought was a pawn shop turned out to be... a speakeasy?!…read more What a lovely surprise. A gem of a find! I will never forget this experience. I was just skipping around town exploring wanting to check-in to as many places as I could like the responsible Yelp elite that I am and then I find this amazing hole on the wall speakeasy. The lovely gentleman in the front welcomed us in to take a look around and I asked him if I could take photos for yelp and he told me that if I was going to write a review, I had to join them. So of course, I took the invite and decided to stay for a little while. We sat at a nice area. A perfect little place. I just want to take a snapshot and keep it in my memory so I can emulate it and turn it into my home study. I could stay here forever. The vibes were on point. The server recommended drinks that he thought we would like, and we loved both of them. I don't remember what the drinks were called, but mine had a blueberry taste to it, and my friend had a mock tail, but some sort of Yuzu to it. We also shared a $15 charcuterie graze. 10 out of 10 would recommend being curious and opening doors to finding out that there's a speakeasy randomly in an area you never thought would be there. What an amazing experience.

This spot is the place to be in Waikiki! Definitely make a reservation because this place fills up…read morefast, especially later into the night. What surprised me most was how good the food was for the price. Usually spots with this kind of atmosphere rely on the drinks to carry the experience, but every dish actually delivered. The chicken karaage was crispy and packed with flavor, the beef takoyaki disappeared almost instantly, and the taro chips with mascarpone were such a unique combination. Between the cocktails, food, service, and atmosphere, everything just worked.
