    Nashville hot chicken grilled cheese
    Chuckie R.

Mid morning Saturday...seated on the patio. Almost everything on the menu sounded good. Settled on the Nashville hot grilled cheese. Bread well toasted good amount of filling. Good service, will be back!

We came here recently for breakfast, and both my husband and I had a very tasty omelet. The food is a good option for breakfast if you're in town. However, this place is cramped for seating, or if you are unfortunate like I was, you will have a waitress drop something behind you. Out own waitress was fine, but she didn't come often to our table, but others came by. Someone, and I assume maybe the owner had a little girl running around, and I feared she might trip a waitress or someone with a food tray. I'm not sure she's always there, but considering the size of the place it was a bit erratic for us to stay long.

Insanely Delicious Food. Whether you get savory or sweet. I love that all the sweet options still have eggs and sausage so you'll still get some savory with your meal. My wife got the Biscuits and Gravy ($10), and I got the Pancake Balls (Aebleskivers, $14). We ended up sharing food which was perfect. To be 100% honest and in all seriousness, and to be taken WITHOUT any grains of salt: this food is some of the best I've ever had. I was stuffed but my mouth couldnt resist and said "just one more bite" and i kept doing that over and over until I was so stuffed I had to tell myself to stop or I wouldn't be able to leave the restaurant. A restaurant this good in Hermann MO just shouldn't exist. It would make more sense if this was in New York City and plates were $40 each. I'm very impressed is all I can say.

The service was incredible -- friendly, fast, and made us feel right at home. Everything we ordered tasted so fresh with homemade jams. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you slow down and enjoy every bite. If you're in Hermann, start your morning here, you won't be disappointed!

    Shrimp and grits

This place was amazing. We got the aebleskivers for an appetizer, then shrimp and grits and the breakfast snack stack for an entree. Everything was so delicious. Our waitress, Tiffany, was really busy but still provided excellent service. Would recommend this place for brunch or lunch every time! The actual waitlist time was long but we just went to surrounding shops while we waited. 10/10

We stopped by this place on a Sunday at lunchtime. It's a sweet space with a welcoming staff. We enjoyed the experience very much! We had a bigger group so there was a wait for the food, however the food was PHENOMENAL. Top notch chef here and I would go so far as to say one of the best meals I've ever had. Having lived in bigger cities with a heavy foodie scene, this is a bold (but accurate) statement for me to make! We were incredibly impressed with all the meals served.

Been to Hermann many times first time trying Ainsley's Place. Service was very solid, smallish menu but nice variety. We had the Eggs Benedict and the Aebleskivers and enjoyed both.

Special of the day, Corned beef hash with eggs and hash browns. Aebleskivers are like pancake balls.

Great unique selection of breakfast and lunch items. Service is warm and friendly. Servings are generous and fairly priced. Cosy dining area with seven tables. Definitely the to go spot in Hermann for breakfast or lunch.

    Rolled pancakes.

While service was not great, food was. Nice homeade breakfast stop. In the heart of historic Herman.

Both served with hot German potato salad and red cabbage. We split the meal and couldn't decide which was best. Both were outstanding! Paired with local red wine and they were surprisingly delicious. Best authentic German meal we've had in many years. Waitress was a little meek but very efficient. Manager stopped by and she was bubbly and fun. Only slight disappointment was they ran out of Black Forest cake. Supposed that a good reason to come back.

I must say I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service and communication we received. We were seated almost immediately and when we made our orders we ordered two orders of fries and a lemon blueberry cheesecake. Looking around, the restaurant was not busy or overwhelmed. So we patiently waited and although we kept seeing the hostess checking to see if we were still there none of our order arrived. Finally after 30+ minutes we decided to leave but we stopped at the front counter to ask what happened to our order. They acted clueless and unaware and that is the cause of this review. DO NOT play in my face. Staff knew we there , knew what we ordered but for whatever reason didn't seem to think our order was worth the time to prepare. Like I said earlier we were full from eating earlier but still just wanted to support this business. Noted : I hope this review gets to the right person to hold staff accountable for disrespecting customers in a nice nasty manner. 9/12/23 is the date . Coming from STL I do not feel appreciated or respected. I will not make this an annual visit at all. The one star is only coming because I have to hit a star to post.

What a great little place…read more We stopped in here to grab a bite to eat after the long drive to town. Dropped off our stuff at our Airbnb and headed straight here. The only negative I have is that I didn't have time to eat more of the food. And order more drinks. So, this one will be on the list for a return visit. But, I can hear you saying... "Rob, you only scored it 4 out of 5!" Well, that is because I can't do a half-star. So let me explain! The Food - Amazing Schnitzel with all the right sides. Katie got the salmon, again seasoned and cooked to perfection. They get all stars for the food! The Ambiance - This place, at one time, was a working mill and has all of that rustic charm. There are private rooms that are decked out in the downstairs of the place, and plenty of amazing thick-beamed rooms by the bar and main seating area. Lots of fun things outside when it isn't too cold. Again, all the stars! The Service - The person who seated us gave us a quick rundown on the local liquors and their general food. Then, just for grins, let us go take pictures downstairs and at parts of the bar. See attached. She also offered to go further, but we declined and headed to our table. Our waitress... well... she was efficient and friendly. She took our order correctly and delivered the food and check appropriately. And here is where the half-star gets lost. I asked, "Which do you think is better tonight? The Lobster Spätzle or the Schnitzel?" Katie said I looked at her like she had just melted onto the floor when she replied with. "I prefer the Schnitzel! But, I haven't ever had any spätzle." Wait?!?!?! You are working in a Germanesq restaurant, in a Historic German town, and are over the age of 45. Obviously have worked here for a while. And you don't know what one of the 6 dinner dishes, not a salad or a burger, tastes like?!?!?! I mean... I can understand if it was vegan or something like that... but she just told me that she likes the PORK Schnitzel! Owner/Manager... please make sure your peeps can answer the simple flavor questions. Another place was even able to tell me which wine they thought would go with my food... off the top of her head, and they had more on the menu. That said! All of you who get the chance to eat here should take it! I know when I make it back to Hermann, I will, and I'm sure they will get that last star!
