Honestly, I don't think the lounge has been renovated in the last 20 years. It's spacious and has a couple of showers and clean bathrooms but for a "premium" lounge there aren't really that many amenities compared to Europe and Asia. The menu does change so it's really a crapshoot what you get. Some days definitely better than other for people's taste. Since the selection is rather limited it really is up to chance. The plus is there a quite a few outlets and a variety of types of seats so there definitely is choice. Overall, it's rather mediocre. read more

Lounging is better than waiting at the gate. Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is a Star Alliance lounge where eligible passengers can wait for their flights up to 3 hours ahead of departure. The lounge has multiple seating areas as well as a small buffet station, several drink stations, a TV seating area and showers for those looking to refresh ahead of connecting flights. Food selection included just a few pasta choices, grilled chicken, salad and soup along with some cookies and cake. Nothing special. For drinks, there were a variety of alcohols, some juices and pop. It's a place where many passengers grabbed a small bite before their flights. The staff were slow at taking away used plates. For seating, many passengers gathered around the lounge area that was showing the ball game. However many seats were directed perpendicular to the TV screen, especially those few with charging stations or receptacles to recharge. This lounge feels somewhat dated and became fairly crowded later in the afternoon. Skip it or hit it? Relax here pre-flight if you already have access but don't go out of your way to pay for the cafeteria grade food otherwise. read more

Quite frustrated. I had a 25K status so I finally was able to use my two free maple leaf lounge access. The frustration is that I couldn't use it- because I didn't have a domestic flight. I just wish these details were actually listed on the app for use restrictions. This is the second time I attempted to use it- last time I was using a partner airline that restricted my use- and the desk person said air Canada flight only. Quite frustration. Give the closed plaza lounge in the international- one would hope Air Canada would be understanding that denying me now means I have no ability to go to ANY lounge. read more

First time ever at a Maple Leaf lounge and I was not impressed. We were there at 6 am and tbh breakfast at hometown buffet would've been 5 stars compared to what they had on offer. A Springhill Suites breakfast would've been preferred, now that I think about it. That's how sad it was. Very comfy seating in a well-designed, largish space. The food & drink options are rather limited by premium lounge standards, but what's there is entirely acceptable. Two kinds of Lavazza machines make for good coffee. There's several ways to fill your water bottles. I visited at breakfast time in July 2025- there were limited hot food options, some random cold breakfast items. Oddly, no pastries at all. I noticed beer taps, but no sign of wine or liquor. I had heard some negatives before visiting, but pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the space actually was. Comparison to the typicalk cramped US airport lounges isn't a high bar, tho. The big negative is zero noise dampening. It doesn't take many loud people to turn this from peaceful to noisy. Lots of natural light, runway views but they're blurred by a coating on the glass. Some paper magazines on offer. Air Canada has several maple leaf lounges because of the way YYZ is divided up. This listing matches the International non-US departures area on the map. The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge at Toronto Pearson Airport is pretty typical. There's a noticeable difference between the domestic and international lounges. The domestic lounge feels cramped -- like a sardine box -- not the most pleasant vibe. On the other hand, the international lounge is a step up. They offer a wide selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The food isn't anything to write home about, but it'll hold you over. Personally, I always enjoy any lounge experience, and once you're hooked, it's hard to go back to regular airport waiting areas. I came to the maple leaf lounge as access was included with my first class ticket. I wasn't expecting much. Nothing overly thrilling, but it's free food and drinks. Everything is self served so you can help your self to as much or as little as you want. Knowing that meal service in first class is provided on the plane, I didn't get much at the lounge. I was just more curious of what the lounge offered. I thought the lounge was rather large with a lot of seating areas spread throughout. The lounge was better than waiting in the regular airport waiting areas. I don't know if I would pay for access to the lounge separately; but, it being included with my ticket, I had no complaints. I am writing my experience in Toronto Pearson airport domestic lounge. What I have seen is their food management company doing a below average service. It is bad reputation for Canada and Air Canada. They have a BBQ chicken dish that is mostly not there often. More than 10 people usually waiting for it. When asked, they say it will come in 30 mins. However, when you say, we want to talk to the manager, the server called the manager saying some people want to talk to him, the dish was sent immediately. This lounge in YYZ is soooooo much better than the super tiny Plaza Premium Lounge located at the transborder. This one is very large with so much space, although I know it still gets full during peak hours as all lounges do. I thought the food and drink selection was pretty good. I came here during breakfast though, and I like most breakfast foods. I really liked most of the hot breakfast foods, and they had good fruit too. They had a large collection a lot of cold and hot drinks as well. They did not have the grab and go section that I have heard is usually there, so I just smuggled a muffin away. This chocolate muffin was unfortunately not Paris olympics level. It tasted good, but it was so crumbly that I couldn't really eat the bottom half because it all crumbled away. I haven't been to another Maple Leaf Lounge before, so I don't have a good comparison. In my limited lounge experience, this was one of the better lounges I've been to. read more

Large lounge serving Air Canada domestic flights. I pass through Toronto frequently and this lounge is always very busy regardless of the day or time so finding a seat can be challenging despite the large number of seats. Food is par for a North American airport lounge. Good selection of alcohol and soft drinks. Usually line up for coffee especially in the morning. The lounge is a bit tired and staff can be slow keeping it clean. Very few power plugs for charging devices. Small bathrooms for such a large busy lounge. Automatic entrance using boarding pass for business class or Elite passengers. As North American carriers lounges go it's about average. read more

Came by the Maple Leaf lounge the other day and it was a lacklustre experience. The lounge is located right after immigrations on the 4th floor. The lounge itself is dated. The check-in staff seemed bored although they were in uniform. Food options were available, from hot Korean inspired chicken and sliders to pasta for vegetarians. There was a full self-service bar with beer and spirits along with a fridge full of beverages. Coffee was limited to drip coffee and hot chocolate. Air conditioning was limited in the lounge although bearable. There was plenty of seating options along with a shower facility. Wifi was free. read more

As a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder, my husband presented his physical card for entry, and one of my toddlers was admitted as a guest. I myself is an authorized cardholder on my husbands account, unfortunately I was not carrying the physical card with myself, since almost everywhere digital wallet is accepted. When we inquired about alternatives, the lounge attendant responded rudely, stating that I have no access to Chase and could not assist us. Despite this initial lack of assistance, as one of our toddlers urgently needed to use the restroom, the attendant did allow my husband to enter briefly with our child. While i waited outside, multiple unacceptable behavior was shown to me 1. There was a chair just at the entrance of the lounge in which nobody was seated, I politely asked, can I just sit over there. This attendant very rudely told me to walk outside and not to even stand close to that chair. 2. I attempted to show my digital wallet as proof of my Chase card membership. They said no that's not acceptable. Meanwhile my husband was back with my child from the restroom, he got quite offended seeing us standing outside the lounge and just politely asked that attendant, "you could have at least let her sit over there". At that point, her irrational behavior escalated and she used her hand and said "enough!". At that point any normal person is supposed to lose temper, but I still politely told her, " the way you just spoke to me was inappropriate" . Hearing this, her behavior worsened. She became agitated and made a threatening remark, stating, "do not forget - I have your last name on file"! Who gives her the right to talk in this manner? I am surprised to see her unprofessionalism and lack of manners. read more

I have never ever eaten food that is not worthy of consumption. There literally was nothing of any taste. From the soup to nachos with no dip. The vegetables other than the salad were weird. Due to a series of mishaps, we were stuck in the airport for quite a while. We went to the lounge, but we were told we can only access the lounge within 3 hours before our flight. We came back 10 minutes later... There is plenty of seating. It was a little harder to find seats where we could charge though. Some of the charging tables weren't plugged in. The food was better than expected. I saw the workers constantly restocking the food. I tried the tender butter chicken with coconut rice. I also ate a lot of guacamole with chips and indulged in a soft chocolate chip cookie. There was also a salad bar, sliders, and pasta. The bar was self serve. read more

BOTTOM LINE: Huge (but narrow) space, and adequate food. Of the MLL at Pearson, I'd rate this 4th out of 5 lounges, with Signature Suites taking 1st (obvi), then the AC Cafe (for domestic), then the international one with the more open concept (I believe international only), then this (transborder only), and then dreary, claustrophobic one (I believe both domestic and international). I came during the busy holiday season, so this place was probably waaaay more packed than usual; that said, bc its narrow design, it only makes accentuates this! That said, they did serve turkey + stuffing, which was a pleasant surprise, and I always get their freshly baked cookies (available at all their lounges). The pace is actually pretty huge, and incredibly long, so there's ample seating, but the central area, I felt, was a bit wasted with an oddly placed "kids" room (it was more like a glass room where people can watch you from the outside, rather than an actual play room) and a TV room. At the end of the day, if you're flying to the US, you won't have a ton of lounge selections, and this one should be perfunctory. read more

This lounge is either hit or miss. I came here a few years ago and the food selection was better and there were more hot food selection. This time it's only few types with typical meatball, pasta and rice. The plates for the food buffet was dirty. Ie some had rice bits on. This lounge is usually loud and crowded, and they allow kids running around etc. The quadrant beside where we were sitting had 2 small children and they took up the entire seat portion with kids toys and bags etc. The kids were running around screaming and the staff didn't say anything. Overall if there's another lounge in your terminal area I'd recommend trying that instead. read more

This Terminal 1 for US Maple Leaf Lounge is drab, dull and dismal. It was ok before COVID, now it's not worth taking the elevator for other than the bathroom. The showers are closed, which I understand. If you have time order food from the QR code. It takes time. Breakfast is better than the all-day offerings. You can get some booze, but that's about all. And booze starts after 11:00 am. They don't even have a decent coffee machine like they used to. Two coffee machines were broken, but one did work for lattes. This location is not as nice as some of the other Maple Leaf Lounges. There is a lot of seating, but the food is terrible. From the dinner buffet selection, there was a cheeseburger slider and a tomato chicken; both tasted like overprocessed cafeteria food (1 star off). The salad bar included some tasteless tomatoes and lettuce (1 star off). The drinks only included 5-6 syrupy sodas and water (1 star pff). There were a few self-serve wines. Restrooms were really clean and I would imagine this is the biggest lounge i've ever been to. I was there early morning, so there weren't any children. But they do have a playroom for children. The Lounge in Terminal 1 was a nice place to spend a few hours of layover from FCO to LAX. It hasn't changed much since I first visited it almost 30 years ago. One in particular was extremely rude and should probably redo her training to deal with customers and their concerns. Other travellers approached me to say her attitude was appalling. I really like the Maple Leaf Lounge and enjoy stopping here until my flights board. I wish they had a lounge like this at every airport! It's spacious and clean. Easy to access by elevator. Because it's so spacious, it is typically not super busy, or at least you can find an isolated spot at almost all times. It is calm and front desk and service staff are pleasant. They have fruits, soups, cookies, and other foods that are covered in glass jars. I like this because I generally stay away from foods that have no sneeze guard. They also have yogurts, and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks that you serve yourself. The bathrooms offer ample space and there's never a crowd. I have not been in a ton of airport lounges. And this one was experienced while I was working out getting downgraded for a transatlantic flight. So anything I say may need to be taken with a grain of salt. First of all, staffing is tough in the travel sector of a lot of the world. So I get being short staffed. But there was trash everywhere. Not to mention the luxury of being in the no cell phone zone was ruined by people on speaker phone. The showers were not open. Which I understand. But another disappointment. Not to mention me that the staff scolded me for things that were probably merited. But felt very much like I needed to sit in a dunce chair from the 50s. BUT they had all alcohol and food fully self serve. If you wanted what they had, you could go and get. Not to mention the front desk staff was very kind understanding that our downgraded ticket was the reason they thought we couldn't get in. Overall, I can't complain too much. Honestly, this lounge felt a little underwhelming. Although it was quiet and pretty spacious with comfortable seating areas all around, it still felt like it was lacking something. I did like the good selection of reading material they provided, the multiple TVs broadcasting the news and the airport flight schedule posted near the entrance. The breakfast included was a bit limited and was either cold or room temperature. I also noticed that the cutlery and beverage areas weren't stocked very often, so it was a bit difficult to grab a cup of coffee or have a bowl of cereal easily. This lounge is the almost perfect start for any adventure. I was here with my boyfriend before our -gag- 13-hour flight to Tokyo, and it was much better than trying to find affordable, decent airport food. We got here before 11, so I managed to get in for ~$40 as my boyfriend's guest. We also managed to catch breakfast. Breakfast was rather disappointing. The baked goods were stale, probably because they had been sitting out for hours. The stuff that was supposed to be warm was not warm. The red sauce was fantastic and we put it on just about everything. As for the lounge itself, it was clean, comfortable, and spacious. I was very impressed that showers were available, as well as a business center, and the wifi was reliable. I made great use of the self serve bar, which allowed me to make myself a gin and tonic, a Caesar, and of course I couldn't resist the Merlot. The sips put me in a great mood for the flight. At 11, the lunch was put out, and it was quite a spread. The curry soup was particularly delicious. Unfortunately, my boyfriend found a whole beef bullion in his minestrone soup - yikes! If given the chance, I would totally choose to wait here for my plane over the gate area again. The hard part is getting in, and it's totally worth the cost. read more
