Phone number doesn't work, email doesn't work. Trying to cancel the service for 4 months now!! Scammers

I purchase service to clean air duct in my house through Amazon. Amazon order clearly stated that service will be performed in my house is less than a certain square foot which my house is. When the technician arrived he refused to do the work unless I pay him double what I had already paid. His reason was Amazon does not allow you to specify any restriction on the number of units, so he has no way of knowing. But the way I see is as an experienced business owner he should know the variables and it's not just limited to home size. And given that he signed up for his service on Amazon just based on square footage he should have followed through his commitment (which is very bad customer service in my opinion). We were hesitant at first about duct cleaning but it was so worth it and we are really happy with the result. We have a brand new house with a 6month old baby and we were always dusting and dry swiffering because there was so much dust. Our baby room monitor would always say the air quality was poor but ever since we got our duct cleaned it has been good. The whole process took about 3-4 hours and they vacuumed each duct. We found random manuels, wood pieces and screws from inside the vents. We are beyond satisfied with the service and Jeremy was great! They were very professional, quick and kind. Air Care Marshalls quoted a very reasonable rate based on a free on site estimate. Jeremy did a great job. He took pictures before the cleaning to show us the extent of dirt in the ducts, and confirmed that there was no presence of mold (or rodent droppings, since we have been dealing with some unwelcome pest issues). He showed us the condition of the blower, and took the time to explain things before getting to work. He was upfront that if we choose to clean the blower, that's an extra fee beyond the initial quote, as the quote had included the ducts/dryer vent only. Jeremy was in and out in less than 2 hours, and our vents are very visibly cleaner. The only thing that I would change is that I wish that there had been more notice up front that the cost quoted is for check/cash only, and that if you pay with credit card, there's a 5% surcharge. I am looking at my call log to verify this is the series of events. I called Air Care Marshalls on Oct 1 on behalf of myself and three other neighbors to have someone clean our chimneys. The person on the phone said someone would come out to do a free estimate. They said it was OK if my neighbors couldn't do it. I had to scramble to get home from work and then call to see if my neighbors were around so they could have theirs looked at too. Air Care Marshalls company must have passed me off to someone else because I received a call from another number that the person could not make it out that day. So we scheduled for today (a week later). They said between 3 & 5. I was home on my way home to meet them when I saw I received a call at 2:46pm. I called right back at 2:49pm. It sounded like someone's cell phone and they were doing other things. The person said that "he" would call me. No call. So I called back at 3:56pm and the person said, "he said he would be there between 3 and 5." I called back again at 5:06pm and she said she would call him. I called again at 5:20pm. She said he had not gotten back to her. She called at 5:24pm and said that he tried to find parking and tried to call so left. I was obviously paying a lot of attention to my phone, and I didn't have a call or any messages. I googled the number she was calling from and it says it is a different company than this one here, Air Care Marshalls. It is for Horizon Duct Cleaning (http://cleanducts.org/) 781-795-2525. I don't have any outgoing calls to them on Oct. 1, and I would never call a company with a .org address who is clearly not a non-profit in the first place. I had two other neighbors waiting, one with a child managing the pick up and scheduling around this. read more

Hired Air Care Marshalls to clean the ductwork in our townhouse based upon a discount mailer. They reviewed our system and of course came up with a price much higher than the coupon based upon the number of return vents. I specifically asked if there was a need to put down any protection on rugs below the vents and the technician said no. We ended up with dust in many locations throughout the house, including on the white rugs. He rigged up his vacuum system to one of the returns and in doing so peeled the paint off the wall (he did not bring this to my attention when leaving). We have had air duct cleaning performed in the past by others. Air Care Marshalls is sloppy and unprofessional, so I do not recommend them. read more

Hired ACM to clean my vents and investigate uneven heating/cooling in my home. Jeremy was great; he was honest and explained the process clearly and left the home in exactly the same condition. The vent cleaning ended up picking up about a pint of loose debris. I recommend fully. read more

Misleading coupon pricing! Received a mail coupon advertising $7 for unlimited vents. What the coupon does not disclose is that there is a flat charge per heating/air conditioning unit that is based on the number of vent lines going in and out and the distance the vents travel. Also, was informed that the air blower vents (have natural gas unit) are $7 each but the intake vents are not "vents" and are priced differently at $15 each. I have two main units, one in the basement and one in the attic. I also have 25 vents (18 air and 7 intakes) total. Based on the coupon I was expecting a charge of about $250. The quote for my cleaning was $476. Did not have it done. If I can't trust the person giving the quote I can't trust the work they will perform. read more

Someone said it before, BAIT AND SWITCH. I scheduled them to come out and they came out same day within a couple hours so 2nd star is for speed and fact that they did remedy the issue. I called for a rough estimate and was told 35$ to clean a dryer vent for first 6ft. If vent goes into the attic it's 10$/ each additional ft of hose after 6ft. I asked specifically this includes if there's a blockage bc that's the whole point of the clean right? Said yes. About 8 feet straight up to the attic and maybe 8-10ft to the exterior wall. So 18ft, first 6 at $35, last 12ft at $120, so you would expect for a total of $155+ tax right? WRONG. I also asked how many people would be present bc dryer might have to be moved aside to reach he said just one and not to worry bc if he needs to move it he will do it himself. I assumed he had some kind of tool or way of lifting it by himself. I told him I was asking bc I won't be there but if need be I could be there to help, otherwise it's my 65yr old mother and my sister. He assured me it's fine and all included in the estimates he gave me I clarified that as well. The guy arrived found a blockage and told my mom $250+ tax. I had given my mom a rough estimate of what she should expect so she was caught off guard. She isn't the type to be rude so she didn't push too much but the guy said rudely "look I can leave, I don't have to do this, but that's the price" he stressed how there was a nest in the hose and my mom agreed because he made it sound like that made it extra.- even though I had asked them over the phone that a blockage is included in the quoted service price. **THEN he asked my sister to help him lift the dryer and move it!!** After he fixed the issue and replaced the connection hose between the back of the dryer and the wall, which did not need to be done and doesn't cost more than $6 if you ever bought one. He was cocky and told my mom she should give him a tip and told her how much to tip him. Of course she DID NOT tip him at all, who in the world tips for a dryer vent cleaning? They're not waiters, they DO get paid. To the company: let me answer your snarky response before you even write it, yes I understand we didn't have to accept the quote and you could have left, but it DOESNT change the fact that this was a bait and switch and that you guys made my sister with a bad back help you move the dryer when you said he would handle it himself. read more

The guy arrived to clean my dryer vent an hour after my appointment window (with no call). There was no vacuum apparatus to prevent debris from flying all over my basement. He used a snake with a brush attachment that was connected to a cordless drill to clean the dryer vent and asked me to help him feed the snake into the vent. The snake wasn't long enough to clean the entire length of venting so he made up a story about how he had to disconnect a joint in the venting because the proper tape hadn't been used to secure the joint. (The same tape was used elsewhere in the venting, but he didn't retape those areas.) He cleared the debris out of the vent by dumping it on the floor and the dust was thick in the air. (He had a mask on. I didn't.) He did a so-so job of vacuuming up the debris, but I had to wash the thick coat of dust off everything in my basement after he left. He also charged me $20 more than the estimate. I do not recommend this company. read more

We had a poorly positioned and designed dryer vent which was so blocked that the dryer couldn't even dry the laundry. My own attempts to clean it were fruitless as I wasn't able to get "back there" with a regular vacuum. This is when I contacted Air Care Marshalls. The person who came was very professional and spent a lot of time not only cleaning it, but replacing an old plastic section with a safer more durable metal one. Been wanting to clean my air ducts since I bought the house back in 2004, or at least see if they needed to be cleaned. I thought my house was tidy and dust free and boy was I wrong. Got a coupon in the mail which prompted me to finally make the call. Jeremy came to the house on time, clearly explained the plan and pricing, answered all 47 of my questions without hesitation, was friendly and professional. Took before and after photos and I still cannot believe how much nastiness there was in the air ducts. We did hit a few speed bumps (it's an old house -- built in 1961 with lots of remodeling), but every issue was solved calmly and completely. Looking forward to having them come back out in a few years to do it again! It did cost more than I thought it would when it was all said and done, but it was money well spent.
