During the visit: The AC tech kept telling me he can do 22 point inspection but may not find the problem. I watch him along way and after he said he was done and proceeded to sell me close to $1000 of electrical needs and a freon fill, he said no guarantee this would work if there is a Freon leak and someone else would have to come out and check for this, another cost of course. I then had to remind him he didn't complete the flush and clean of the lines and coil. So he ask me for hot water and a funnel! So he wasn't going to do the work but then I had to supply him what he needed!? After he left I opened the unit myself and also found that he didn't straighten the fins as noted on the website, in complete work again! Also didn't see him lubricate anything. Guys, maybe this was the tech but this happened once before when I called them a few years ago so I think this is standard operating procedure. Please Skip.

They lived up to their great reviews, from the initial contact phone call all the way to the conclusion of the installation of my new unit. Derek, the estimate technician who arrived at my home on April 23rd, was knowledgeable and addressed my questions and offered options. He was at my home for over two hours! He offered me several options, without pressuring me, simply explaining the benefits of each option. His willingness to explore my request to remove current water outflow pipe that had been on the garage floor for decades, presenting a safety risk, and route it another way outside was taken seriously and creatively. He took me through the plan and I was so pleased. The technicians who arrived the next day to do the install, Gary, James and Kauntes, were excellent workers. Gary was in charge and went over the plan with me in detail. He was able to troubleshoot a few issues and get the job done! All three of them were courteous and, without being asked, applied shoe coverings every time they entered the house. They cleaned up after themselves. Gary kept me apprised of their progress. They began working at approximately 9:15 am and did not leave my house until 6:15 pm. This company installed our A/C and, ever since, this system has been giving us problems multiple times a year. After some research, I decided to call another company. Barry from Blue Bear came out and conducted a very thorough evaluation. He laid out all of our options clearly and showed us pictures and discovered our whole house filter wasn't changed by the previous company for a very long time, even though we have a maintenance plan. I wanted to know what I was in for quickly so called Nic and he came out within an hour and a half. He looked over the unit and tried all possibilities before concluding it was the compressor of my 20 year old unit. Power to the compressor but compressor wouldn't turn on. After talking about the other more expensive things that could go wrong and realizing I could still spend a lot of money in the future even after fixing this issue. Probably would have been a rebuilt compressor too. We discussed the options on a new system and I decided in the Carrier brother Bryant. We discussed the internal components being comparable parts readily available warranty and of course price. He came out the following day and installed the entire system. Thankfully I didn't have to be without air too long as summer kicks into high gear I'm happy with my purchase and he offers a free tuneup every 6 months for a year to be certain everything is working as expected. I would recommend Nic and his crew. Even short handed he finished it completely. I don't even know it's running now it's so quiet.

We have had them come out twice in the last month - we have two units and two handlers (two-story house). Nothing can ever be repaired, which I find very suspicious. The tech seems nice, but when we first called to inquire on their service to our upstairs unit, they told us they needed to replace our Goodman A/C unit "with the exact same thing you have" only to come back the next day and find they replaced it with a Tuttokool unit. And the second time the came out (for the other unit), they said the handler and the ac unit BOTH had to be replaced, for $8500. I called to inquire why the replaced the old Goodman brand ac unit with Tuttokool, and they just stated that they ac unit was outdated and the one we had was no longer current with new compressor laws. Plausible, but weird. They didn't see any problem in how the presented the words "replacement", and I probably should have voiced a concern that the replacement would be the exact same brand and look. But, alas - I did not and that's probably on me. I know the house is 20 years old, but - what the chances both break within the same month and now the second unit and handler have to be replaced? Service response time is great, but I am not convinced they are being truthful to all their customers.

Now, it's two years later, and the system is not working. I called for a service call but was told that it would be over $250 because it was a weekend. I was sold a 10-year warranty for parts and labor, but now they tell me I must wait until Monday or pay a $250 fee because it's the weekend. I contacted the sales representative who sold us the system (James Thornsberry), but he had moved to Birmingham, AL. I am still waiting for a representative to contact me about getting the HVAC system serviced. The forecast is in the upper 90s today, and it's too hot in the house. We recently moved my mother-in-law into the house with us to care for her, and this heat could present medical issues with her. I am embarrassed that I was conned by Hot2Cold.
