Felt very comfortable after speaking to Phil that they would take a good look and confirm what I was experiencing with the car. Most people nowadays are reading up on the symptoms with AI, and a good shop imo assumes this interaction. Phil gave me a very reasonable quote and confirmed my hunches were on track. Took the car in first thing in the morning and spoke with a gentleman (maybe the owner) who took my report . No one rushed me, which is key for me. I understand that time is money, but so is trust. For most people, this is won or lost in the first conversation. It's tough because people are just not happy to begin with when they staring down a hefty bill, no matter what usually. EA Service nailed it. Felt totally comfortable the whole time that the car was in good hands, and they did why they said. Period. The price was below the initial estimate which was nice. Phil also did not up-charge me for a battery he ended up getting/needing from the dealer. Extra nice. For a first time experience I was very pleased, and I am pretty skeptical when it comes to shops generally. Compared to other experiences Phil and the shop hit every mark. Extra points for communication, which again is huge. Gave me back a clean car fixed right. We then had the car towed back to the shop because the original problem had not truly been resolved. At that point, we were told the issue was actually the fuel pump. This was incredibly frustrating because after spending thousands of dollars based on their recommendations, another major repair was suddenly needed. It left us questioning whether a thorough diagnostic had been performed in the first place. As a customer, I understand that older vehicles can develop multiple problems. However, when a shop performs a diagnostic and recommends thousands of dollars in repairs, I expect those recommendations to be based on a complete and accurate assessment. Instead, it felt like we addressed one expensive issue after another without ever getting to the root cause.
