I asked about having an oil leak fixed, I told them what was wrong and what needed to be done, they charged me for a diagnosis anyways and charged me for the repair, that seems normal till I found out what they actually did as a "repair" The oil pan needed to be resealed and a new bolt for the drain, I told them that, and instead of doing it the right way they just smothered silicone around my oil pan and drain plug. Lazy workers charged me $280 to smother my parts in silicone. It was cheaper to buy a torque wrench and do the repair myself the right way, 0/10 would not recommend. read more

Brake service was requested due to sqeaking, I told them it may be the front brakes, but let them know I wasn't sure. They changed the front breaks and when I picked up my car the breaks were still squeaking. The back brakes ended up being the problem. Mind you I was charged an inspection fee, to say the least they didn't obviously do the inspection and then charged me to do the back brakes. read more

I come to my appt and the desk guy is talking to a customer for about 20-25 minutes while giving him his invoice. I had an appt at 10:00. I was told the alignment would only take 20-30mins so I made an appt before work. I was there awhile. The service guy is friendly, one on one... But I'm a paying customer too and had an appt set up. I just dont see the point of an appt if im waiting almost 30 mins for service. Disappointed in service. By the time I mention I have work after, they helped me out almost instantly. What if I wasn't vocal about my time? Would they have continued to take their time and let me wait? Who knows. Afterwards, my alignment was still off. I came back several times for them to try and attempt fixing my car. In the end, they told me there wasn't anything they could do it's just how the make of my car is now after getting new tires. Disappointing. The customer service several times after were better because it was with the owner... but it kinda feels like I paid for a service that was "unfixable." read more

Unfortunately, we got stuck with Transmission City through no fault or choice of our own. In August 2017 Jiffy Lube put the wrong oil filter on our Toyota 4Runner and completely destroyed our engine. They took responsibility and took our vehicle to Transmission City. It took 3 Months and 2 engines for us to finally got our vehicle in good shape. We had to take it back numerous times during the 3 Months sometimes a day after getting it back because of issues that were supposed to be fixed and weren't or weren't done right the first time. Now it's Jan 2018 and we had back again with more issues that apparently aren't covered under warranty. We paid $80 for them to fix an oil sensor light and had the car for 15 mins and the same issue happened. So back we went. Every time they have "fixed" something we have had to go back within a week for the same issue, then they take another week to figure out the problem. It's been the most frustrating experience. I would never recommend them. Unfortunately, if we want to keep the warranty for the engine they installed (which took 2 Months to install) we have to use them for things. They are crooks. read more

Hoped to fix my car's steering after U-turns (does not return to center). I was assured the problem is the power steering pump. I asked about three times because I was skeptical. So I replaced the power steering pump but this didn't fix this problem. I was told the problem is the strut mounts because they claimed I had performance struts on my car. This was not the case; I removed the OEM strut mounts (not aftermarket as they were certain they were) to replace w/KYB struts. And I still have the problem. I am quite disappointed with their confidence to make claims that are simply not true. I trusted this shop to help me diagnose my issue but they failed to help me in this regard. It's worth noting that the customer service can be okay. Someone gave my Dad a ride home, which was nice. read more

This time I took my GMC Sierra in for a fluid change and once again, the difference in the way the transmission performs is incredible and it is good for 50,000 miles. When I calculated the cost of the transmission service against the cost and number of engine oil changes for 50,000 miles, it is actually a bargain too. To top things off, I had another shop tell me I had a bad muffler, but at Transmission City, they saw it was just a loose bracket on the exhaust and tightened it up, correcting the problem. I figured it probably saved me at least $100 from having a muffler shop diagnose and fix it. Big thumbs up from me and I'll definitely use their service again. read more

My car check engine light was turned on for a week or so, and everywhere in Fresno that I called to get it checked was charging $96-100 to do the diagnostic. Transmission city offered to check the codes for me (not run the diagnostic) for FREE. In the end it was because my gas cap was loose from the last time I got gas- and Transmission City ran the codes, told me what was wrong, and reset my check engine light for me. They even gave me a ride to work in the morning after I dropped off my car and wouldn't even accept a tip for doing it! Overall they run an honest business and were really great. If I had anything wrong with my car I'd definitely take it back here to get it fixed. read more

While Transmission City wasn't the cheapest, they had the shortest turn around time and the same 3yr/100k mile warranty, so I went with them. I took my car in recently for some belt replacements and had them research an issue with a motor for my windshield wiper fluid. The knowledge regarding fixing the cars is there and they did a great job..but the female receptionist is rude as HE**..attitude and short with me. She was busy assisting more than myself and answering the phones. She did not want to hear what I had to say, and she was rude to the person on the phone too. After a swift attitude adjustment, she was able to actually give good customer service. I will return because honest auto mechanics are not THAT easy to find. My daughter and I took her 97 Nissan 200sx in because thr tire store gave us a coupon for aliagnment, they anounced that her camber was off and a special bolt needed to be installed for an additional $ 162.00 to do it. I declined and went home bought the bolt online for $21.00 and put it in in 10 minutes, you take off tire remove 1 bolt and reinstall new bolt, super easy and he wanted $162 dollor for 10 minute work plus the part I paid 21 and change including shipping. Took it to Goodguya for a re aliagnment, charged me less whitout a coupon and turns out the other side needed a bolt also, he said get a bolt and bring it back for a free re aliagnment. Very unprofessional. I have personally witnessed an employee who in the warm weather walks around with a white tank top. In the morning he uses a leaf blower to blow all the dirt off the sidewalk, which he takes over an hour to do, but blows all the dust across the street over to the neighborhood business and houses! I have also witnessed the same employee putting their garbage can in front of houses when not picked up on their garbage day! Why not just call their garbage company instead?! They also do not recycle all of their items. I saw cardboard boxes and plastic sticking out of the garbage can that was left in front of a house. I have also experience waiting 20 minutes in person for the desk guy to stop talking to a customer to wait on me. After i was told it would take them a day to fix my car it actually took 3 days. Plus my car was never right after that. I did take it back several times so they could fix what the did. But they claim they could do nothing and it wasn't their fault.
