Here is the longer review if the TLDR didn't suffice: Let me start off by saying that i've been a target shooter for close to 17 years and a maryland resident all my life. In college, I have also worked at a local gun shop in maryland before, though those days are behind me. I possess a c&r license and while I primarily collect older firearms I've got plenty of modern rifles and handguns and am getting into competitive shooting. I am writing this review as someone who has 1. Consigned a firearm at this store and had it sold for me there 2. Purchased a firearm at this store 3. Hung out and window shopped several times. My experience at this store has been so overwhelmingly positive that it has likely supplanted several of the other local shops in rockville that are closer to me. The atmosphere of the store is relaxed with seating and a free mini fridge stocked with sodas, water, and a coffee maker all completely free. The store is also clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing with a social and relaxed atmosphere. The two gentleman that run this store are unbelievably friendly and outgoing which is often not the case in many gun stores. They are both knowledgeable with one specializing in antique / c&r firearms and the other in modern firearms and equipment. I find the two gentleman to be a great balance to each other and enjoy the time that I spend in the store perusing inventory and speaking with them every time i've gone. If I had to offer one critique, it would perhaps be the small size of the store. This is nitpicky though as they have a decent inventory and are seemingly able to order most anything you need if you talk with them AND one very cool thing they offer is a look for list where they will take your information down and contact you if that special piece shows up at the store (I'm currently looking for a world war one era German Luger). The folks at South Carroll Sporting Goods had exactly what I was looking for, and for an unbeatable price! Their little shop does not look like much on the outside, but the atmosphere on the inside rocked! The folks in the front room made you feel welcomed and service was prompt. At the end of the sale I was given a hearty thank you and a firm handshake. You never get that personal touch at the "Big Box" stores! These guys knew their products, were true professionals when dealing with difficult customers (who changed their minds mid-transaction), and just let you know they cared about you as a person and not just as a customer! I spoke to the owner on December 19,2020, and he assured me that the gun was shipped to my FFL and should be there by Tuesday December 22, 2020. As of today December 31,2020, the gun has not been to my FFL and no one has returned my calls. I have called every day for the last week and a half. This is not good business! When you accept money from someone you should at least follow through with the purchase for customer satisfaction. I guess customer satisfaction isn't important to this company?

Where we live we have a huge wasp population (I think I have seen every species possible flying around) so we wanted to avoid open bottom lights as we had issues with wasps building nests in them. Also my husband made it even harder as he didn't want, plain black with clear plain glass, which of course is most the current style. Both Lori and Tracey helped us out. We sat looking at lots of catalogs, checking online. We spent a long time in the store and they were very patient with us. We even found some that we liked, but they were super expensive (of course the catalogs don't have prices, they have to sit with a computer to assist) as we needed 7 lights even they knew that would not be a good pick and we continued searching. We eventually were successful, they ordered our lights and within a week they were ready for pick up. They recommended 2 electricians for us, one they felt especially suited our needs after talking with us. We got quotes from a few local electricians as we live further out, but we also got one from the guy they recommended: Mark from Monocacy Electrical & Lighting Services LLC. He was the most friendly and knowledgeable guy and fairly priced, we used him and were quite happy! Our lights look fantastic, we were very happy with the whole experience. Except the Ouch to the bank account, s there lighting is much more expensive than shopping at Home Depot, but there lighting is unique and fantastic. You get what you pay for as they say.
