I have also tried their miso eggplant appetizer which was good but I do wish that the eggplant was sliced evenly throughout the dish so that it would have the same texture throughout the entire dish. Some pieces were cooked perfectly while others were not tender because of the cut. Regardless the flavor was still there. Other than that, it was pretty lackluster: the soft-boiled egg was hard and one of the grossest eggs I've had, and the chashu was cold. I proceeded to enjoy a very strong whiskey flight (which means a lot coming from me), a seaweed salad that was a bit too crunchy or stiff, ikrua don, crab croquette and some admittedly super sticky, gummy, shrimp dumplings...like would not separate from the steamer paper sticky. While the offerings were not my cup of tea, the place is beautifully decorated and seems to fill up around dinner service so it may be worth the stop if you're in the area. Everyone was very nice and I always appreciate a spot offering jellyfish, takowasa, and takoyaki in Cypress. Next time I'll try the ramen, and hopefully report back with a new perspective, fingers crossed.
