The udon noodles with vegetables and the beef is removed

Just tried the udon noodles with angus beef. Boy, let me tell you. Do not and I repeat do not order this dish. I don't know what type of beef this is that they are putting in this dish, but it is not edible. I'm not sure what it is. I took a few bites and spit it out it was so chewy and has zero flavor and the texture was horrible. I removed the so-called beef and ate the noodles with the vegetables which the noodles were fresh but if the beef taste like this in the udon noodle dish, I will never purchase any beef from the establishment. It is the worst beef. I've tasted at an Asian restaurant and that is not an understatement. I was so disappointed. I was disappointed enough that I will not return. The beef is suspect and I'm a leave it at that. can't speak on the other dishes.

Airi Ramen is a hip local ramen joint with several locations around the Houston area. They serve a variety of Japanese dishes including ramen, stir-fried udon, rice bowls (tempura, tonkatsu, teriyaki chicken), poke, and more! Vibe: A good size with lots of seating. Cool interior, artsy mural on the wall. Good casual hang out spot. Service: We had a great attentive server. Food came out pretty quickly, and piping hot. Food: We ordered the basil chicken kaarage, katsu chicken bao, and tonkotsu ramen. The kaarage tasted more like Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and it was delicious! It came right out of the fryer, and the aroma of Chinese five spice and white pepper was intoxicating! It is served with fried thai basil on a small bed of cabbage and shaved carrots, which added extra texture and color. A pretty substantial side of spicy mayo is also included. The chicken was hot, juicy, and tasty! Definitely dip in in the spicy mayo to get to a whole other level. The spicy mayo is tangy, surprisingly flavorful, and has a small mild spicy kick (I think there's some yummy togarashi in there). If you want to elevate further and transcend its status as a great appetizer, order a side of rice and mix it all together - it is phenomenal as its own rice dish! We will likely come back just for that alone. Next, we had the katsu chicken bao. The katsu was piping hot and encased in a bed of lettuce, teriyaki, and spicy mayo between the bao. The flavor combo here is on point, as you get lots of savory from the spicy mayo, chicken katsu, and bun, but also some sweetness from the teriyaki and coolness from the veg. Be careful, these things are addicting! Bao is soft and holds all the ingredients very well, the sauces boost all the flavors, and the katsu is juicy, crunchy, and cooked perfectly. Lastly, we had the tonkotsu ramen. It was OK, but did not blow us away - we have had better at other Houston spots. The noodles were a little overcooked (for ramen), broth felt like it was lacking in depth and the flavor was monotone, chashu was a strip of pork belly that was a little tough and not circular or well marinated, mushrooms were a bit tough and mostly stems. Overall, the food here is phenomenal, and you should definitely give this spot a try - especially the rice dishes and appetizers. We will definitely be coming back for that basil chicken kaarage and katsu chicken bao! Maybe try another Houston spot if you're looking for ramen. Airi ramen is Let's Eat Houston approved

It's been a while since we've been here. They have certainly spruced up the place. It looks great, with anime running on TVs on one side of the restaurant and a large Japanese mural on the other. They have many items on their menu in addition to ramen, including poke bowls, and yaki udon. We tried out their tonkotsu ramen and spicy miso ramen. Portions were decent, prices were about average, and taste was good but not among the best we have had.

I had a very terrible experience. I ordered to-go and they punched holes in the soup can and it soaked my pants. The calamari was like old squid, and it was so tiny that you almost ate flour instead of squid. The egg rolls were very oily. For the $20 I paid for this meal today, I felt like it was leftovers. I felt horrible and have no words for how disappointing this restaurant was. I ordered on Yelp and waited for 25 minutes! NEVER RETURN!

I adore this little restaurant, especially for playing a variety of Anime on each of their TVs. I can't believe there wasn't more people inside! Calamari is yummy, cooked nicely and the texture really got to shine with the thicker cuts. People mess this dish up all the time, but here it's worth a try. The Pork Katsu Bao is a must have, extremely fresh but more importantly the fry on the pork was perfect, paired with the salad mix and spicy mayo it's just heaven in a bun. I haven't had ramen from a restaurant before, but the Spicy Miso was satisfying. The spice wasn't overpowering, just enough to give a comforting tingle and the egg was quite nice too. If you're on the fence about dropping by, just go for it! I doubt you'll regret it.

I've been here 3 times and each time was a hit! Located to the far right of the H‑E‑B in Fairfield next to Orange Theory, Airi Ramen is a great option for those looking for great ramen locally or a meat plate! On my visits I've had the: Pork katsu - Circa 12/2020, not sure if the portion size is the same in 2022. Nonetheless, the meal was excellent and the pork was very crispy and dipping sauce was excellent! Tonkasu ramen Circa 5/2022 - excellent broth, tender meat, great noodles. Portion size was great. Spicy miso ramen Circa 5/2022 - my favorite! Spicy but not too spicy! Definitely has a kick and makes you sweat a little. Tender meat and great noodles as usual. If you are looking for ramen option in Cypress, give Airi a try!

Cute ramen shop in Fairfield. The ramen was super yummy and came out quick. I ordered an extra egg and some spice on the side, since they don't offer spicy tonkotsu. The spice made the broth taste just right. The only thing that I wasn't 100% great about was surprisingly the eggs. They just didn't taste like eggs usually do. I will definitely be back as this is the best ramen I have found in Cypress so far.

Super good tonkotsu ramen!! Definitely my new favorite ramen spot! Authentic noodles, super soft pork, and the bamboo shoots added a sweet component (I really liked this!). I didn't like the seaweed but that can be easily removed. So incredibly filling. The togo packaging was very well done. The crab wontons were crispy and creamy. I'd definitely get them again. Overall new go to Cypress ramen spot. read more

I had the tonkatsu ramen; it was delicious, but not heavy. Better than Jinya, even. Everything on the menu looks good. Met the owner, said they would be rotating new items out every couple of months. Came here on a Saturday night and we were the only customer. Kinda hesitated but we still gave it a shot. I would say 1 star for the service, they constantly asking if food was okay. But we couldn't say upfront that we didn't like it. We tried enjoying our food. The spicy miso ramen is super spicy. We asked if we can get it mild spicy and they said straight NO. The pork tonkatsu is super dry with a after taste. Overall, would not come back. I'll stick to my ramen place. read more

My first review was replied by the owner and I felt like I was accused of lying :) I mentioned that I tried 2 ramen and they were Tonkotsu and Spicy Miso Ramen but I didnt say in 1 visit, I tried 2 times before I wrote this review.. I previously stated that I didnt finish my bowl because it was too salty and he said I finished it all..It puzzled me, I know that I could only tolerate 1/3 of the bowl why should I lie when I couldnt finish it? Regardless, the flavor of it being too salty is my opinion, I have come to this place 2 times, i wrote this review so that ppl with sensitive taste buds like mine are aware. I sincerely hope they could lower that sodium level on the ramen broth, so that it will be enjoyable. However, I updated my review to be four star because I see that the owner actually cares and responsed my first review quite fast. I hope your business will improve and successful. read more

Used to be good, but the help wanted sign in front should have been a warning. All of our family's meals came out at different times (10 min in between), and one was completely forgotten. The last one, which took in all 30 minutes, tasted like beef broth with chili sauce in it. The extra seasoning of the hairs we found in the dinner also turned us off. This place used to be our go-to ramen joint, hopefully you can do better once you're staffed back up. read more

My hubby brought me here on our date night. We had an overall great experience, we were seated quickly but we were the only ppl there so that's not too surprising. Our food was hot & fresh, we ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer and they were delicious, could of used a little more sauce though. Our ramen was pretty tasty, broth was rich, noodles were thick, and the season egg was also good. It had a lot of spinach, maybe a little less would of gone a long way. Being that we were the only ones there, our waiter was very attentive. We are curious to see how the service would be if it was packed or fairly busy. Our only real issue was that our napkin/towelette smelled kind of weird. Maybe they wash them without any detergent or something? I can't really describe the smell other than a BO'ish type smell, almost like a sweaty gym shirt. read more

YUM! this place is so good. super happy there is a new place in Cypress to enjoy ramen. way way better than Jinya. I got the tonkatsu ramen and the broth was so smooth and rich in flavor. generous portion size. speaking for pick up orders, I liked the way they still plated the dry part in the container so that all I had to do was transfer it to a bowl and then pour the broth over. I did pickup so not sure on how they are doing with covid safety guidelines. However, will be back to try the other ramen for sure. read more

The worst food we've had in Cypress. My husband, myself and our 3 year old son are all sick with diarrhea. This restaurant is the only thing we've eaten together today. This scares me that people aren't taking hand washing and cleanliness seriously during this time. Now in comparison to other Asian restaurants in Cypress this food would be a 1, on a scale of 1-10. No redeeming qualities. 1. My husband asked for delivery, the lady told him the delivery man was busy and he would have to pick it up. 2. The food was cold when he went to pick it up. 3. It didn't taste right - the fried rice was either pre-made stuff out of a box or really poorly made. 4. The crab Rangoon was definitely pre-made and the cream cheese mixture was lumpy and phyllo dough was baked not fried (they were free) We also ordered the shrimp tempura, general tso chicken and shrimp on a stick. It all sucked!!! Just bad food ... there are other Asian restaurants in Cypress, with superiorly better food. DO NOT GO HERE ITS TRASH!!!!!!!!! read more

To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I went today with my boyfriend because it's usually our favorite ramen place. Today made us realize how unclean the place is and honestly I'm sad to say that I'm never coming back. We got our drinks and while we were about order appetizers my boyfriend noticed a cockroach crawling right next to me. We decided to leave and we took our drinks. While in the car I look at my drink and there's a small cockroach in my drink as well. By the way .. these roaches where not from the sewer or from outside. These are small cockroaches. That means there's an infestation and honestly it should get looked at. Very dissapointed , and I'm not the type to ever comment on anything. Today really impacted me and made me never want to come back to one of my favorite spots. read more

My girlfriend and i have been coming for a while now but today we went, and it was the nastiest place i've ever been to in my life. there was a cockroach on the wall crawling right next to my girlfriends head. we are about to leave after seeing that, then look at the cup of dr pepper they served us. there was a bug on the straw that she had been drinking from for the past 5 minutes. i really recommend skipping this place. will never go back, disgusting. read more

Decent ramen spot that we found while in a part of town we don't frequently go to. My son got the spicy miso, and said it was ok. I got the 72-hour beef ramen, which comes at a premium. I think regular pork would have been fine, but the 72 hour beef isn't worth the extra cost. It tasted ok. Don't expect a melt-in-your-mouth Kobe beef skewer type experience from Kata Robata or anything. This is a decent spot, but not the greatest ramen place in the Houston area. read more

I've got to say that I drove by on this cold night and noticed this small place but wasn't expecting much. But, the thought of some warm soup made me stop and go inside. I am so glad that we did! The ramen bowl I had was SOOOO good! Meat was tender, the veggies cooked perfectly, and the broth was silky and delicious! My friend got the orange chicken and it was big, delicious pieces cooked the way she asked them. Good glass of wine and some really good sake! The service was fast and the staff very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back! read more

My fiancé and I went to try Airi Ramen for the first time today. We had previously looked at their menu to become familiar with it so it wouldn't take us long to order once we arrived. We knew we were in a time crunch, so we were ready to order and eat fast after hitting the gym. We stepped into the restaurant at 2133 (closing time advertised as 2200), but were told by a young lady that they closed in 25 minutes and that she could ONLY take orders to-go. I explained to her we had more than 25 minutes to order, eat and be out of her hair. But she didn't budge, she seemed displeased and confused by my answer. We couldn't take a to-go order because my fiancée and I were going our separate ways after eating and both of us had to be up early for meetings/classes. If we're gonna get technical, they actually had 28 minutes before closing, which is close to 1/2 an hour. That's more than plenty of time to be out of there before closing. We went to another restaurant right next to it to have dinner. Airi Ramen ended up shutting the restaurant down (chairs up, lights out) at 2147. I really wonder if the owners are aware of how their personnel are handling their business and turning away paying customers. read more

The Tonkotsu Ramen is bomb. This place is awesome especially for locally. Don't have to go to downtown Houston to get some good Ramen. The shrimp skewers were also really good. We've had Ramen at a lot of places and this place is our go to when we want Ramen at the spur the moment. Give it a try read more

I was hesitant on coming here due to some reviews I read, but my husband INSISTED that we try Airi since it is walking distance from where we live, so I gave it a chance and let me just say, I AM SO GLAD I GAVE IT A CHANCE. Our server was EXTREMELY attentive and she even recommended a few things for us to try and she also had amazing customer service! The food was DELICIOUS! My husband and I shared two appetizers. We ordered the shrimp balls (I think that's what they're called lol) and the dumplings. BOTH dishes were SO TASTY! I was feeling extra fat, so I asked my husband to order another round of dumplings because they were THAT GOOD! My husband ordered the orange chicken and finished it (which was surprising, as he hardly ever finishes anything unless I cook at home.) I ordered the Yummy Chicken Ramen and added seaweed and green onions. I CANNOT wait to come back and try more dishes! I will DEFINITELY be trying the spicy ramen the next time we come! I usually don't like bamboo toppings in ramen because of the ammonia smell, but I tried some bamboo from the Spicy Ramen that my boyfriend got, and it had no strong bamboo smells at all. I sampled my friend's pork paitan and found the pork to be very tender. My chicken tom yum soup was very good with a rich umami shrimp-tomato-spice flavor. There was a good portion of noodles. It's a bit far of a drive but I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area! I'd rate it in my top 5 ramen in Houston, though it is far from the rest and definitely the best in its area.

For example, when she asked if we were ready to order, we began listing our items, but she abruptly told us to hold on because she wasn't ready. Later, when I finished my tea, she informed me that refills would cost extra, which I didn't mind paying for, but the way it was communicated felt unnecessarily harsh. To add to that, when I tried to pay with Apple Pay, her card reader wasn't working properly, and instead of resolving it at the table, she asked me to get up and pay at the front register. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service and communication could use improvement. A more welcoming and patient approach would make a big difference in the overall experience.

Soft opening launch and did not disappoint. My family was out late from a Christmas light show and looking to see what was open. Airi Ramen was one that pop up in Fairfield. Nowing it was getting late we were hoping to see if they can serve us. When we got near we saw them putting chairs up. We asked if there were still serving, as we felt bad knowing it's close to closing time but he welcomed us in. 1. Great way to build relationships in the community. 2. The food was fantastic! The spicy miso ramen was delicious, I ordered an extra side of chili oil for a little more oomph. The broth was rich and creamy but the whole meal was light and fulfilled me without feeling overstuffed.
