After an annual tune up and an self diagnosis of a particular part, I assumed it was the Carburetor and reached out to Destiny Small Engine Repairs for a professional diagnosis. After setting up an appointment and speaking to Kadeem by phone, we both thought it might be the Carburetor but wouldn't know until I dropped off the lawnmower. Kadeem said he'd look over everything and give me his full assessment in less than week. During the middle of the week Kadeem sent me a picture of my engine pressure, noting that it was extremely low and it was unfortunately the engine that was going out; which with a now 13+ yr old lawnmower I could expect. Kadeem gave me the option of looking for engine parts for a rebuild, but suggested a more cost effective engine swap. What particularly impressed me was the fact that Kadeem was willing to give me a good working lawnmower, that was donated but he didn't need. If I just wanted to do the engine swap myself since I've done a number of repairs myself on my lawnmower. But instead because of that generous offer, I decided to have Kadeem maintain the business and do the swap instead. Picked up the lawnmower and checked it out, and it started up better than I can remember. Overall: Excellent service and great communication along the way, and very reasonable prices for repairs.

I called and spoke with Randeep, who scheduled me within 2 days with an irrigation specialist. I had an appointment this past Wednesday for Danny to come by and take a look at the leak. Not only did Danny fix the leak, he replaced the valve completely with newer, more up to date parts as my home is 20+ years old. After addressing the original issue, he noticed that two of my sprinklers were not functioning and replaced them, even without me asking! Wow! He then recommended that I replace my sprinkler timer as well, since it was also an older/outdated model. I purchased a new timer, in which he took the time to walk me through step by step to make sure I understood how to use the timer and make necessary adjustments and also made sure to go through the schedule not once, but twice to ensure I was satisfied with the watering schedule and overall water flow. During the walkthrough, I noticed there was a huge leak coming from a drip line in my backyard that caused a puddle in my lawn. He explained that the leak in the drip line may have been caused my running it over with a lawnmower or by me accidentally hitting the line with a weed wacker. I asked Danny how much it would cost for him to fix the leak, and he said, "This is such an easy fix, I'm almost positive you can fix it on your own." He then recommended the parts I needed to fix the leak, and sure enough, I was able to fix it on my own! He made sure to keep in contact with me while I went to Home Depot to make sure I bought the right parts. Danny went above and beyond and provided exceptional service! He was patient, honest, kind, and very knowledgeable, which is a true reflection of the company. Nowadays, it's hard to find a trustworthy company that won't take advantage of you! I was at the MidTown Market on a recent Saturday morning when I ran across this booth at the very…read morecorner of the market near 21st street.This booth had this nice gentleman named Dave who was busy at work on his knife sharpening machine and I asked him a few questions to see if he could fix my knives I had at home that were so dull-he was super friendly and very informative and said he could help so I decided I would bring my knives to him the next time I was at the MidTown Market. Fast forward to a few Saturdays later and had my knives in my bag properly wrapped and I was able to drop em off at Dave's booth.He let me know he had a few knives ahead of mine but to come back in an hour and he would have mine ready. After shopping at the market for an hour or so,I went back to grab my knives and they looked great.Dave went out of his way to explain what he did to the knives and telling me the reason they were dull in the first place,made me feel like a "mini" knife connoisseur after that informative conversation.Dave charges $3 an inch to sharpen knives,so not a bad value at all for such professional service. However, as luck would have it it didn't work. I called Elk Grove Power equipment to see if they could fix it. I was referred to California Steam. I called and spoke to the Manager Rick and told him what had happened. He told me to bring it down with all the parts and said they would take a look at it. I met with Francisco, a very pleasant gentleman. He looked at all the parts and was able to use one of the existing parts that had frozen and replaced everything else with Quick-Connect parts. It took some doing but he was able to get the job done. Upon completion he not only checked to make sure the pressure washer worked correctly he also gave me a quick lesson in properly charging and discharging the pressure washer. Francisco was very thoughtful on the process and took the time to work out my problem. It is nice to see someone take pride in their work and be helpful to the customers the good old fashion way. Pros: - cleaner than other Goodwill stores - bigger and brighter than other Goodwill's - plenty of parking and relatively good lot - fun just to browse if you have time and might find some things Cons: - prices aren't so "goodwill" anymore, but that seems to be the case across the board at charity thriftstores esp. "questionablewill" stores, ha! - they had quite a few large bins out for stocking and didn't seem to be in any hurry to organize and stock so those were just blocking access to several aisles and also getting in the way along a main path. Tip: - once a week a certain color tags get 50% off, so if the stars align, an item could be a good deal.
