Bravo zulu…read more The N-Gen squad rocked up and BREACHED the attic trap door with tool bags, STORMED the previous installation that held our home comfort hostage, IDENTIFIED the hostile tango (a wily unit with deceptive drainage), and neutralized the problem with EXTREME prejudice. I heard a POP-POP and the system went down. One shot in the plenum, one in the coil. They installed a democratically elected ruler of indoor comfort that is committed to equal airflow for all rooms. HVAC gone rogue? You could do worse than to get an estimate from The N-Gen. We'll keep them on speed dial while keeping their last names private in the review photos. They liberated our home from uncertain climate control. These service-minded mercs didn't even require us to pay the invoice in crypto. Hooyah. I love me some monthly payments in USD. Believe.

On August 3, 2026, I contacted customer service and spoke with Veronica, who asked for time to review my account and concerns. On August 11, after receiving no update, I left a follow-up message for Veronica. I received no response. On August 18, I spoke with Joseph, who informed me that Veronica was unavailable but said he would send her another message regarding my concerns. Later that day, I finally received a text message from Veronica stating that she would escalate the matter as "urgent." Today is August 25, 2026--22 days after my initial call--and I still have not received a phone call from Veronica or anyone in management. I have now been told that there is supposedly an email addressing my concerns, yet no one has had the professional courtesy to contact me directly to discuss the situation or provide a resolution. For a customer who invested approximately $15,000 in a new system, this level of communication and customer service is extremely disappointing. I should not have to repeatedly follow up for more than three weeks simply to have my concerns acknowledged and addressed by management.

From the beginning, I was required to pay the full amount upfront before any work started, which I later found concerning. One major issue was related to asbestos. Every other contractor I received quotes from had already included asbestos removal costs in their total estimate, which is common for older homes in the Burbank area. Although this company had already visited the property and inspected it beforehand to provide an estimate--just like other contractors--they suddenly raised asbestos concerns in the middle of the project and stopped the work. The project was then delayed for over a week, and despite multiple attempts to contact them, I received little to no response. Later, they even requested additional charges. The scheduling and communication were extremely frustrating throughout the entire process. I repeatedly adjusted my personal schedule to accommodate their work. In particular, on Friday, the project manager directly told me that they would come on Saturday to complete the remaining work. Based on that, I stayed home and waited. However, no one showed up, no one contacted me, and later I was simply told that they do not work on Saturdays and that I should call the office myself to reschedule. There was not even a proper apology. It is also unreasonable to expect the customer to coordinate scheduling, as it is the contractor's responsibility to manage the schedule and complete the project once the work has started. From my experience, it felt like the company schedules work based on their own convenience and profit, rather than respecting the customer's time and commitments. While the technicians on site were polite and hardworking, the overall project management, scheduling, and communication were very disappointing. I also wonder whether requiring full payment upfront before the work even began aligns with standard practices or regulations in California. I chose this company specifically because of Costco, and I expected a much higher level of professionalism and accountability.

The ambiance has a perfect speakeasy vibe with its dim lighting and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to just hang out and grab a quality drink. The cocktail program here is absolutely phenomenal. I am pretty picky when it comes to whiskey, and since Manhattans are my absolute favorite, my expectations were high. They mixed an incredible Manhattan that was perfectly balanced with the right sweet vermouth, and their Old Fashioneds are crafted with an attention to detail that really lets the spirits shine through. We also ordered a few Paper Planes, and they were dangerously good, hitting that perfect sweet and sour note that makes you want to immediately order another round. It is not just the incredible drinks that make this place stand out, but the exceptional service from the bartenders. They are super knowledgeable and treat craft cocktail making like a true art form, all while keeping the vibe laid-back and welcoming. If you are looking for an unmatched whiskey selection and a fantastic atmosphere in Los Angeles, this place is an absolute must-visit. Easy 5 stars for sure.

Having been here many times over the past decade, I've discovered some great bourbons, scotches, and had some great cocktails. But those days are unfortunately in years past. In a place that prides itself in its whisky, the bartenders are sorely lacking in their knowledge around their own bar. With an extensive selection, I don't expect them to know everything, but bartenders not knowing what is meant by a neat pour (straight out of the bottle into the glassware, no ice, and not mixed) was unexpected. I'm getting the impression that while they still mix old fashioneds, a scotch such as Ardbeg is now an unusual and baffling request. I've been here a handful of times in the past few months, and it can be lively or dead, but it's now just any other bar. If you want a fun cocktail you can find anywhere else, this place will do, but unfortunately it's lost what has separated this bar from any of the other bars in dtla.

If you value your time like I do, go elsewhere. Never fall for promos in the mail. I figure I give this place a try since I needed my AC serviced. If all was good I would use regularly. So I called and scheduled an appointment one month out. It started good with a text message in the morning confirming. In fact, they texted asking if anything changes to let them know. Time ticked by. I asked for an ETA, then I get another text saying: "Thanks for checking in. Your HVAC maintenance is scheduled between 1 PM and 4 PM today, but due to a high volume of emergency calls your technician is running behind and there is a chance we may not be able to make it today. If you would like, we can look at moving your appointment to another day instead, otherwise you will receive a text update as soon as a technician is on the way." Basically a nice way of telling me I should reschedule. I said no. I already stayed home all day waiting. Time past. So I texted them again and said "so you guys are a no show?" And as I suspected, no respond whatsoever. I knew from earlier they would be a no show with the text messages I got. Terrible company. Wanted to give them a chance but going back to Around the Clock - they actually show up and respond.
