    My overall experience started off as excellent, then went to poor, and then finished off with excellent. Hence I feel Precise Air deserves 5 stars for being excellent overall. 4 stars: I ordered Precise Air through Costco Services as they are a Costco trusted and approved HVAC company. Their Sales rep, Oscar Villafana came to my home in August 6, 2024 and was extremely nice to me, explained what HVAC was recommended to replace my old and broken HVAC system. I am a people person and suspected he was a typical sales person who was only nice to people in the beginning to get the sales and would disappear after sales occurred and provide no post sales support. However, since Precise Air was partnered and backed by Costco, I decided to move forward even after their prices were quite high and I had other competing and attractive offers from other HVAC companies that worked with Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Oscar had presented me a couple government rebates that I would qualify for and the time frame of when I would receive them as "HE" would submit them for me once the work was completed. Also getting Costco SHOP cards was attractive as well. 0 stars: My HVAC system is set for auto cold/heat based on temperature. After a couple months (on October 19, 2024), when the weather got colder, the system fired up the heat pump and I noticed it was blowing COLD air instead. I then turned off the system to prevent the house from getting even colder. Called Precise Air about the issue. They sent someone a couple days later to inspect and repair. The issue ended up being a default switch on Lennox systems being set to just do COLD air only. This switch was overlooked by the installers and was needed to be flipped so the system could auto blow COLD or HOT air based on the weather. 5 stars: On October 21, 2024, Precise Air technician, Zachary Uhrig, arrived to my home, spent just 15 minutes and knew exactly what the issue was. He quickly fixed it and everything was now working as it was supposed to. I am extremely happy that Zach is so knowledgeable about the hardware. 0 stars: On December 16, 2024, I called up my sales person from Precise Air, Oscar Villafana, to inquire about the $1000 TECH Clean California rebate in which he explained to me "HE" would submit on my behalf (only contractors can submit for this CA rebate) and I would receive it in 3 months. It was now 4 months. He ended up arguing with me claiming that he never said that he would submit anything, then later retracting that statement and saying when he mentions "HE WOULD", he meant the company would do it, not him. He also mentioned that he is "just a sales guy, and not responsible for this" and would not take accountability for anything to help me. He then told me to contact a junior admin in the Precise Air office to track down the status of my rebate, then retracted that statement and said he would ask this junior person to call me. He hung up the phone, called the admin person, called me back and mentioned that the admin person would call me back in a couple minutes because he was now "stuck in a meeting". I stayed on the phone with Oscar for another 5 minutes mentioning to him about how he needs to take accountability for his statements again, and when he didn't accept my suggestion, I told him if this continues, I will have to report this to Costco directly. His response to this was "GO AHEAD, call Costco." I then had nothing else to say and Oscar hung up the phone immediately. 5 stars: The Precise Air admin called me back after 10 min of when my phone call ended with Oscar. I wanted to test the comment of Oscar saying that he was tied up in a meeting and would call me back when he was out of it. He told me that he was not in a meeting but packing up equipment to his car and was off to meet an inspector for a different HVAC job at that time. He was calling me back from his car. Hence this confirmed another lie from Oscar about making up statements and facts again. The admin mentioned he does not know the status of my rebate and would follow up and call me back by the end of the day. The call was short but I could tell he was very junior and nice. NOTE: -- on the morning of December 17, 2024, I then had a conversation with Costco directly about this incident and informed them of all occurrences. Since Oscar told me to call Costco and report this as if he didn't care, I did! 10 stars: Shorting after my call with Costco, I received a callback from Precise Air rebate manager, Narek. This individual is truly a superstar employee! LONG story short, he mentioned he understands my frustration, listened to my explanation patiently, and said he will instruct the company to cut me the rebate check paid out to me personally even though the CA rebate was still pending (which would be paid to Precise Air, not me). He also assured me that I can call them (the office) directly and they will always support me anytime.

    We are very thankful and appreciative of the owner and professional staff of Precise Air. Our air conditioning system went out during the week of the heat wave 113 temp. It was awful, but my husband and I contacted Greg at precise air and also they were recommended by Costco too. They took care of the problem the previous air conditioning co. We were with and they had place the wrong unit.

    Josh Torres and his team are some of the best . Clear communication , friendly staff, and excellent work.. I can't Recommend them strongly enough...

Mason is attentive and he was the best with responding to questions and concerns. And when I had concerns about delays in my project, I would email him and it would be fixed right away. The solar industry is one where many people have a lot of questions, uncertainty in effectiveness, and aren't sure if it's right for them. And people in general don't trust solar companies and sales people. It takes time to complete a solar project from contract to actually generating electricity for the home. For me, I decided to go with solar because the 30% tax credit was ending (and now that I actually see results, it's worth it even without the tax credit). However, since I was in a tight window to get everything completed before December 31st, I was very nervous as to if the project would be done on time. if it wasn't for my persistence, and for Mason's help, I don't think it would have been done Before December 31st and I would have been very upset and lost out on the tax credit. So again, GO WITH MASON at Solar Optimum, you won't regret it. If I get another home, I will 100% use this company again, and would 100% ONLY work with Mason. I also added a picture to show how much solar has been generating for me in just over a week in the middle of December (the worst for sunlight). It's right at optimal generation for this time of year and look forward to no more electric bills.

A lot of time passed by without hearing back. Then I was told the solar panels that I had agreed to are no longer available. They replaced them with cheaper options. Later on, they said the replacements were no longer available and switched them again to a cheaper option. I received an email on 10/28/25 saying the solar panels are ready for installation. Then I didn't receive an update until 12/10/25 asking for information that I had already confirmed via phone call, the clearance from solar panels as well as the panels being permitted. Then I received an email on 12/23/25 asking for this confirmation again. I sent a follow up, and did not hear back from Eddie until 12/27/25. He gave me a call and told me that Solar Optimum is unable to complete the installation by the end of the year, making me ineligible for the tax credit. He suggested claiming the system was installed/invoiced in my taxes, which is tax fraud as the tax credit makes it explicitly clear that it needs to be installed and powered by 12/31/25. On Dec 30th, he said he would update me within 2 weeks. 2 weeks elapsed and no update was given. At the end of my experience with Solar Optimum, I was took a loan that was no longer needed which ran my credit which has negative implications for my credit score. I also missed out on thousands in tax credit as well as future long term savings. There was misrepresentation regarding what the company had to offer and so far the company has not offered any option to rectify the situation. Will never do business with this company and strongly advise against using their services. The only option remaining is if they are able to discount the panels by the amount of tax credit I have missed out on, which will be my desired resolution requested.

Their quote, plus their high reviews made them the logical choice, and we have no regrets. From the person who did the site inspection, Jose, to the installers, everyone seemed very friendly, respectful of our property/wishes, and it was clear they were experienced and knew what they were doing. Being up against a deadline, we really couldn't afford to fail the city inspection, and we passed easily. Thanks to the salesman Mark Howe for his direction, & to Henry Melling for a great design and implementation. We were not excited at the idea of having all that stuff on the side of our house, but honestly, the installation was so neatly done, with a few plants added over there, I'm sure we can acclimate. The battery placement in the garage was genius -- up and out of our way! Everything is functioning as it should, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend California Solar & Electric. He covered the whole process. Our project manager was Maria, every communication went via phone which helped as she was able to give us immediate info via phone. The panels we wanted were out of stock for a few months, they provided options to prevent the wait if we wanted. For some of the approval steps between installation and operation - It felt like we had to chase them a bit to keep the momentum as it stretched out for weeks in between updates at time which is the point where I felt like it wasn't easy breezy. The guy who came to install it was the same one that turned up for each step so he knew us and where everything was and our property which made it a breeze, it was incredibly helpful to have the same guy each time. All of the installation team were epic, friendly, kept everything super clean and smashed it out in a day. Everything was installed and labelled clean and professionally. Their pricing wasn't the cheapest quote but it was competitive and they were professional and well worth working with. They made every effort to help us work toward getting over the line before the end of the year for the tax credits and Maria was super informative on the details of that. Would not hesitate to recommend them or work with them again in the future on any solar projects.

I question the leadership as employees seem confused, projects are poorly planned, pm was unaware of what elements are critical path and they just seem consistently unprepared at every step.
