Let me start by saying I freakin love the food. It was slow and some things got confused but it was good. My husband brought me here for Valentines Day. So, to be fair, it wasn't a normal day. It was packed with people with high expectations. I kinda get why wires may have gotten crossed. The crab cake was delicious. I wanted more. I think the only downside about this spot was the band and the sound system and on that night the band. If you're gonna have people playing music, work on the acoustics. The sound was too damn loud and messy. I also wanted more live music from the band, but I might've gotten there after they did it. I'll return with hopes the music is better:

This was my first time coming here and I was pleasantly surprised. First you go into Zaya then head upstairs. It's a very laidback place. Enjoy a drink at the bar, play some pool, or listen to their live music. It is a full whiskey bar, but they also have other alcohol. Bartenders are attentive and knowledgeable. Very fast and great service. I loved my drinks!

I stopped in for some old fashioned cocktails with a coworker while in LA for work. After a long day of meetings, the low key vibe of Seven Grand was spot on. The bartenders were friendly, drinks smooth and strong, and we found ourselves relaxing next to a couple with a dog, making our time their even better. Pros: Friendly bartenders, chill vibe Cons: N/A

Wow first time but definitely not my last!!! Apparently a long staple in DTLA for many many moons!!! Definitely old skool cigar bar/whiskey bar vibes!!! Great decor, main bar area plus two pool tables and even an outside smoking area!! Apparently even has private tasting rooms as well!! Highly recommended!!

I loved this bar! I wish I could remember the name of the bartender who was making our drinks but he did soooo well. The drinks were SO GOOD! We got paper plane cocktails and we ordered Last Word cocktails as well. So amazing. They were strong and I loved how cold they were too. The place was cute too thy have pool tables and a nice outside lounge area. Totally coming back.

    My delicious whiskey sour.

I LOVE THIS GEM!!! The ambience, the whiskey selection, the staff, the plaid carpeting! ALL OF IT.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: A downtown stalwart that's still doing it. I didn't realize I'd never reviewed this place! I used to come here fairly often in the early 2010s, but hadn't been in years. The hubby and I were doing a downtown staycation and decided to step in for happy hour. It was pretty much as I remembered: the bar is upstairs, with the Scottish hunting lodge theme intact--dark walls and mounted deer heads everywhere. The bartender, nattily attired in a vest, was friendly and efficient. The $11 happy hour old fashioneds were well-made and delicious. We lingered over our drinks but didn't get another, as we were on our way somewhere, but we were glad to have stopped in. Would definitely come back for happy hour.

I kinda miss the cozy Jackalope back bar but SevenGrand is still a unique bar that you can find all kinds of hard to find whiskies from anywhere in the world! -1 star due to high noise level and really hard to have a conversation on some nights.

We came here on Valentine's Day and it was an awesome spot. They had a happy hour menu, a Valentine's Day menu where if you bought a certain drink you got a free macaroon and got to sit in a special section, and their usual whiskey menu. There is pool tables and music playing and an outside area with a photo booth! Just be aware, the photo booth starts right away. The bartender was nice & they make a great sazerac!

Echoing what everyone else has been saying - the service is SO slow. It was about 45 minutes before we were able to order our second drink and our water glasses were empty. They have so many runners bringing the drinks out but only a few servers and, from the looks of it, one bartender (on a Saturday night - what?!). The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink. I do wish there were more explanations with the beverages, especially for the Paid Vacation as most people will not realize you're supposed to bite into the buzz button for the tingly sensation. I would come back, but need some time for my wallet to recover first, haha!

It wasn't your typical corner haunt. There was an intentionality here that turned a simple evening out into a genuine education. The curation of spirits was nothing short of impressive, but what set the experience apart was the conversation. I arrived knowing the difference between a glass and a bottle, but left with a newfound appreciation for the nuances of rum, the craftsmanship behind a smooth whiskey, and the unexpected complexities hidden within a well-made vodka. Each pour came with a story, a history, and a level of expertise that transformed every sip into a lesson. The atmosphere was the perfect anchor for it all--utterly chill and devoid of the frantic, forced energy you find elsewhere. It was the kind of place where the music sits at just the right volume and the lighting invites you to actually linger. It was refreshing to find a spot that treats its craft with such respect while keeping the vibe completely grounded. I walked out feeling a little more cultured and a lot more relaxed. A couple things to note: there is parking available, but it is paid (you can either text to pay or use the kiosk machines). The experience itself lasts about 40-60 minutes, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The only downside for me was that the bathroom is shared for both genders. For safety reasons, I personally wish they were separate--so ladies, I'd recommend going with someone just to be safe. You just never know. They also give you a little treat afterwards, which was a really nice touch and a sweet way to end the visit! Overall, I'd definitely come back and recommend it to others
