I've been dying to try a Peruvian restaurant ever since my trip to Peru, and this place did NOT disappoint! It's located in a residential area, which was a little unexpected at first. There isn't much parking in the front, but there's a sign letting you know there's additional parking in the back. The restaurant looks small when you first walk in, but there's actually more seating off to the right, on the other side of the bar. The staff were so friendly, welcoming, and inviting. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious! We also tried the sangria, and I must say--it's the best I've had in the Tampa Bay Area by far! There's also a picturesque little spot with stuffed llamas that's perfect for photos. mI was told they have a live band two days a week, and I would definitely love to go back and experience that! I would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be going back. I walked in and immediately fell in love. The aroma of the restaurant was divine. I sat at the bar and someone immediately helped me. I started off with a glass of Chardonnay. Then moved on to the tiradito which was thinly slices of fish in this delicious citrusy marinade. I followed with a rice dish filled with mounds of seafood. It was absolutely delicious. I'm a big fan of Peruvian food and love trying out different Peruvian restaurants, and Aji Limo was a great choice. I ordered the Tallarin Saltado with seafood, and my fiancée ordered the ceviche. Both dishes were delicious and made with fresh seafood. I'm usually very careful about where I order raw fish since some places don't keep it fresh, so I was happy to see that everything here was fresh and flavorful. The service was also excellent, friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The only downsides were that parking which was a bit hard to find, they had signs pointing to parking in the back, but I couldn't find it. They also didn't have real Pisco, which was my biggest disappointment. I was surprised that a Peruvian restaurant does not offer it. We ate here right when they opened and the food is still just as good. Prices have gone up quite a bit, but the food is that good. Sangria pricing is weird in that a glass is $12 and a pitcher is $40, so go for the pitcher and split it up. The chicken was fantastic- so juicy and flavorful. Lomo was also good, but the sauce was a little light this time, and the sauce is what makes the dish. Service was really good, and decor is nice. This was the best Peruvian food I've ever tasted. The food was so tasty, the meat (both land and sea) was so succulent, the drinks were made so well, and our waitress was so nice and helpful. The ambiance is very welcoming and I can tell they really take their heritage seriously. My only suggestion is that the lomo saltado should have more meat. For a $30 entree I feel like I shouldn't run of out protein before I run out of carbs (fries and rice). Overall though, it was an amazing experience and my wife and I will definitely be coming back. read more

We have been really looking forward to trying out this restaurant and it did not disappoint! We went in for my wife's birthday. The ambiance was great. The hostess seemed to be having a rough day or something, but our server was very friendly and kind. We started off with drinks and a mixed seafood ceviche. Drinks were very good and the ceviche was phenomenal Main courses were the Pescado Sudado (traditional homemade flavors and textures... sooo good) and the Lomo Saltado (good lord this was good! The portions of all the plates were quite surprising. You definitely get your money's worth when it comes to flavors and quantities. We were sat next to a couple with a toddler and a very small kid. Very noisy and crying. That's no fault of the staff. But the table we were sat in near the front entrance got extremely humid and a bit uncomfortable. TIP: ask to be sat away from the entrance. I'm really at a 3 because of the flavor/taste of the food, but the issue was not related to the food or taste....more about how they run the business...read to the end. Met up with a friend who had been before, raving about the food, I was excited to try it. We entered early one evening, it was probably 5:30 pm on a not-very-busy weekday and sat up at the bar....apparently none of the empty tables were available for us. That's fine. I enjoy the bar scene for dinner sometimes...when there's anyone there to mingle with. NO one was at the bar. But that's ok, I was with a friend and that was all the company we needed. We ordered the ceviche, the caprese and my friend had the octopus (not my thing), for the 2nd time. The ceviche was very good, I was going to order something else, but it was actually a large portion... so I literally just had that for my meal. I had high hopes and was thinking of coming back to have something else... But at the end of the meal, when we got our checks, noticed they added a charge for using a credit card - which although isn't that uncommon these days, there was no mention or shown anywhere until after the bill was presented...and then charged tax on top of that additional charge as well AND on top of all that, the tax rate was INCORRECT!!! Since the rollback at the beginning of the year...they have been charging a higher amount of tax on its customers (yet only needing to pay the correct tax amount out). None of this is acceptable. When I brought this to the server's attention, they had to have a conversation with the manager to figure out how to fix the issue. My bill was recalculated manually and was still not correct, but it was in my favor and my friend's bill was recalculated as well but not in her favor. I wasn't about to pay a credit card fee that was undisclosed. Then tax on top of that charge and the incorrect tax rate, even. The server wasn't apologetic and the manager did not come out to apologize for the error either. Maybe it wasn't an accident. We did the correct math and both opted to pay cash and the correct amount of tax. This is the 2nd place I've noticed the incorrect tax amount being charged since the beginning of this year....this is probably happening in a lot of places. I need to keep my eyes open a little more. This is my 4th time here and while I loved it in the past, this last time has made me question if I will go back. My friend and I ordered the Patacones Rellenos on the happy hour menu. We had 3-shrimp and 3-steak and they were okay, but not great. The plantain cups were flavorless and the filling was just ok. A far cry from last time when they were delicious. We had the De la Casa salad with chicken and it was very tasty, which is what the 3-stars are for. (We both had the Passion fruit cocktails and they were also delicious). Recently had dinner at Aji Limo Peruvian Cuisine with my husband and two kids and was so impressed with our meal! We started our meal with some delicious red sangria (WARNING: the sangria is more potent than it tastes and I should not have ordered a second glass!!!) We ordered the grilled octopus appetizer (pulpo a la parrilla) with golden potatoes and white corn and could not get enough of the amazing huacatay sauce that accompanied it. The only thing that kept this dish from being a five star dish was that one of the tentacles was a little over cooked and a little too chewy to eat. The other tentacle was super tender and delicious. For my entree I ordered the seafood Paella and my husband ordered the lomo saltado. My husband loved his steak and I loved my paella and was impressed by how much seafood was in the dish. The portion of paella was so huge that I had leftovers twice! My kids made a weak attempt to try some of the components of our meal, but opted to order the kid's chicken tenders and fries. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warm and friendly service. We sat at the bar, and the bartender recommended a pisco sour that I absolutely loved. They accommodated a wheelchair in our party by rearranging some furniture. That was really kind of them. Service was phenomenal too. They had a cute photo op spot as well. This was my second time at this restaurant. First visit I stopped for lunch and had the lunch special menu. Everything was good for the price. I decided to visit a second time, this time with my wife on a Friday night. We sat at the bar, ordered a round of drinks and papa a la huancaina to start. The presentation of the papa a la huancaina was good, but it lacked flavor. The cream didn't have any flavor and it was very watery. A waste of $12. We were very disappointed. I ordered a chaufa de pollo and my wife ordered the tiradito appetizer. The Chaufa was good, but definitely not worth $24. They didn't even have the Peruvian yellow aji sauce most Peruvian restaurant I've been to have! My wife's dish was good. Peruvian food is probably my favorite cuisine, so I really believed I knew the best spots in the Tampa area. Then I heard about this place... This place, hands down, took over as my number one favorite Peruvian spot. It's located in a West Tampa neighborhood. It has a great vibe inside, including a selfie area with a couch and, of course, a llama! We went during a busy time and did not have a reservation, but we were still promptly seated at the bar. Even sitting at the bar, we got impeccable service with at least 3 staff members tending to us throughout the evening. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. The food was a 10 out of 10. I started by ordering some chicha morada. It had great flavor, had the subtle spice I was looking for, but was not overly sweet. It was literally so good that I drank it down within minutes. We got two appetizers: the calamari and the leche de tigre. Both were phenomenal. I don't always love the texture of calamari, but this was light, tender, and flavorful. The leche de Tigre had a delicious light spice and light, tender chunks of fish. The lomo saltado was so tender and flavorful that I literally ate every single bite. Dessert was a shining star. The passion fruit pie had a sweet, thick, soft crust. It had a layer of passion fruit mouse around the edge. It was loaded with this tart and sweet passion fruit purée over top. It was amazing. I was a little frustrated on this last visit.... I have been to Aji Limo at least 4 times now and the latest visit was not pleasant. Normally, I have a nice experience. In the past, I never had trouble parking or getting a seat or having to wait very long for food but this time it was a bit chaotic and the kitchen was behind. I made reservations for 7pm on a Saturday night for my birthday and there was nowhere to park. There is a bakery next door that is clearly closed in the evenings but they tow anyone who tries to park there. All of my guests struggled to park. The restaurant was slammed, busier than I have ever seen it and we were told the kitchen was behind. The bar must have been behind as well because drinks also took forever and they really only do beer and wine and beer and wine based cocktails. The corn appetizer was drier than normal. Otherwise, the food was good. I had brought a Publix cake to eat at the end of our meal but the waitress refused to bring me plates or forks for my cake saying it was a policy. I have never heard such a thing.... we spent hundreds of dollars on food and paid a tip on top of the 18% service charge and this is how we are treated? Also, other restaurants allow this. I found the service to be subpar and for it to occur on my birthday made it worse. read more

We start with Pulpo a la Parrilla - grilled octopus. There are two tentacles that slice in the middle and grill. I like this method because the grill area increases. The tentacles are good diameter. Good quantities. The second dish is the famous Tiradito. This is a slice raw fish cook in lime juice and yellow pepper sauce. It come with corn and sweet potato. It is great dish to experience. Our main dish is the Talllarin Verde. This is grill NY steak in the requested temperature. Steak is well grilled. This dish is come with choice of spaghetti. We selected pesto sauce with spaghetti.
